Freaky timing Todd... sound like you're on drugs... or that you died a few months ago and no-one told you. Terrible (but clever) Don't do this again. The banana reminds me of his tune Bananaana. This performance is as laid back as Jose Feliciano's are and has a 60's AM radio sound. The song can be heard in grocery stores and makes opening the freezer doors a joyful way to spend the time.

Todd is a god !!! He's just stretching his artistic wings. How would you keep your hit song fresh when you have to perform it for 200+ nights of the year??? That's a challenge! So Todd is changing it up. Right on !!

Many of the previous posters are spot on correct. In this case (and I am a huge Todd fan), the composer ruined his own song. He easily could have nailed this thing by being on the beat and chose not to.
Even if it brings the hate, this video = 2 to 3. Nothing Special to Worth Watching.

The video Quality is dark it's hard to see if thats a real banana but I think it's a shaker....Remo made fruit an vegetable shakers....banana's ;green peppers; plumb's all kinds also his timming is a lil off I could hear how it could fit maybe he had a monitor problem being a musician also when you can't hear the monitor that;s some time's what happens an being live TV the show must go on no matter what......that being said I love todd he's great an always will be

yea... i agree I like him doing in this style and it's cool but the timing on his vocals throws me too... i guess you get used to it towards the end it seems to gel better... I still like it! i like hear artists do their own tunes differently...

You know, you're ABSOLUTELY right - his Timing is OFF. I really like Todd Rungren, but this version is not working.
I mean the Brazillian style is lovely, but for some reason, his Vocal timing is way off, and it's a real pity - because this is such a Poignant and Lovely song - it's my favorite of his songs, actually.

This was during a tour were he did calypso lounge versions of all his songs. It was an interesting show but I liked the energy of a Utopia show more!

Have you heard Todd in the last year or so? He's playing his brilliant compositions in a four-piece rock band at mind-boggling volumes. It's totally unlistenable -- and I love Todd. Have no idea what his problem is.

I dont mind rearrangements, but come on Todd, at least sing it where it follows the music.....
