The physical requirements for various grades of combat should not change just because it results in a uneven distribution of women in combat. To reduce the requirement and lower the standards for women, that would be sexist and also reduce the quality of combatants on the field.

In Singapore, male-persons have to serve 2.5 years of military service after 18years old, while female-persons gets a head start in their careers. @VintageAntique Well I would say that my military experience is factual evidence enough. Women have lower standards than men, and some women in the military find it hard to meet those standards. We do an annual contest called Iron Hammer where any soldier could compete you just had to have a 270 on a male pt test. Guess how many women even made qualification. NONE. If women who are in the Army cant do it, then it would take an elite female athlete to do it and there arent many of those around.

I was an officer in the US Army and I can tell you that women are NOT equal to men. If a woman wants to be a soldier, the GREAT - more power to her. BUT - she should have to meet the same standards as the men - PERIOD! If she wants to be treated equally then she should have to do what the men do. This is NOT the case. The US Army cater to the women - their standards of passing any physical test is less than the men. Bottom line - equal treatment? Then equal standards... PERIOD!

Ok how about this. Consider the pros and cons of women serving in the military. Consider what our military is, it is a very highly tuned instrument of blitzkrieg type warfare, where if you arent a highly testosterone laden individual you arent going to make it. So with the high amounts of testosterone, close living quarters, and a violent culture you can only expect that. Women dont belong in the military, their psyche isnt developed for it. They are caregivers not killers.

I know I was in the service and the highest standards for the women are barely better than the lower standards for men, and a lot of women struggle to meet the female standards. My point is that few women could or desire to meet the level of intensity in the male training, and only if they do should they be in the military

Since selective service draft registration is mandatory in the United States, women should be REQUIRED to register. I don't care if they are drafted to work in factories or bake cookies.
