I cry every time I think of how good movies, television, music and fashion were back in the 80s and how everything today is shit. Man I miss this show.
I used to try to stay up and watch this in New York. It came on a 2am. My mom would tell me to go to sleep but I would peek out from under the cover. Loved this show back then.
Does anyone have an upload for the show when Madame's friend Bobbi Tremayne (former Whoopee girl) comes to town. They end up performing "There's got to be a Tuba in the band"......
This was totally hilarious show of the 80s I seem to remember Madem's Place was On U.S.A.Network i was 17 years at that time ! I love her sense humour and you dont see puppetry like than around anymore!
Loved this show. I had taken a break from school and came out to Califronia on Vacation where Waylon and Madme Billboards were up and down Sunset Blvd. - they were such a draw in Las Vegas at the time. Madame was funny as all heck and very much censored for the TV show. I miss Waylon and Madame - great act in the 80's. Thanks for posting!
My sister and cousins and I used to stay up extra late in teh summer to watch this. I wont ever forget it. We danced to the theme song like it was on the radio. ANd we loved when Madame would fall out. However looking at it now. That is the scariest looking pupped on the circut. Ha ha i love you Madame!
I remember watching this show when I was a kid. That is, until my mother banned me from watching it, since she thought it was inappropriate viewing for someone my age! My mother was so strict!
me too! I thought I saw madames place on DVD in Virgin records. Then again, you can find pretty much anything in NewYork. I love Madame so muuch!!I used to watch it when I was little and it's older than I am :)
lol...I watched it when I was like 4. I can remember it, and my mom not liking some of the humor for a 4 year old...I think it was on saturday nights before PM magazine.
I have four episodes of this show on VHS. I keep waiting for it to come out on DVD. Everything else has. It was only on for one season. I'm sure the rights are tied up somewhere. Or maybe no one thinks anyone would buy it. I would!
One of the funniest shows I can remember. Favorite line...Charles Pierce [as Bette Davis] to Madame "Why ask for the stars, when I can give you a moon!"
Wow. Madame was so damn funny. Wayland Flowers was a terrific puppeteer. And, hoo boy! Judy Landers was THE reason I watched this show when I was 9. Yummy...
When I was a little kid I would confuse Madame with Lady Elaine Fairchild from Mister Rogers Neighborhood. Seriously though this was one of my favorite shows when I was eleven. All of the racy jokes went clear over my head of course, but I still loved it.
Madame and Waylon appeared on the nightclub comedy circuit in the 70s and 80s. They were part of an awful comedy/variety show in the 70s called "Keep on Truckin" that was on for like 4 episodes in the Summer of '75 or so. Later they did this show and also "Solid Gold."
That sounds like Candi Milo singing the theme song.
