  • Really good song, love it, so meaningful...

  • can anyone tell me what bass guitar simon gallup uses in this video?

  • I will always believe this is the most beautiful song ever written. There are multiple versions of this song available (I of course prefer the extended version) but they all are tops.

  • One of the most beautiful songs ever!

  • are those..palm trees by snow?...o.0

  • awesome, Ahuevo¡¡¡¡ beautiful song

  • Thanks, great song. thank u so much.

  • they don´t all look the same..., only think they have in comment is the beauty of it, that can touch u so deep, but delicate...

  • it;s fucking good!! Greetning from Poland :)

  • The Cure...a music icon!

  • This is a classic.

  • I just love robert in this video and i love this song. Robert is just so gorgeous! I have loved Robert and the cure for 24 years now and i know that it will never change. No one can compare to the cure. Everything that they do is just unique. No one has the class or the sound that they have. I love you Robert!

  • first time to hear this..its kewl!!

  • god there is no band as ironic and simple and complicated and beautiful and blissful and disturbed as the cure.

  • I almost believe that the pictures are

    All I can feel

  • linda demais!

  • god i love this band

  • @lovelay77 god you love penis*

That's what you meant to say...

  • wat the fuck is wrong with u ? u dick get a life

  • "get a life" what does that even mean?

  • great band. always will be. they dont make songs like tis anymore. and its no emo dude. not even close. plus emo collectively doesnt have as many great songs as just this one band has produced. but i bet that it wishes it did. but then again they dont have a robert smith on their side......

  • Das nenne ich Musik :) klasse Band

  • As Kyle said in South Park..

DISINTEGRATION IS THE BEST ALBUM EVER!!

  • no one has caught up to what the cure can do

  • beautiful

  • Expansive And Classic.

  • One of Robert Smith's techniques is to record a minimalist guitar part and then tune the guitar slightly sharp and record the same part again. The effect is much better than what any chorus pedal could achieve. There's an organic quality to the slight oscillation that makes the part really stand out.

  • thats cool man how did you find that out?

  • The thing is, I actually cannot remember. I realized after I posted it that I should have provided a source for such a claim. I should have said, "I remember hearing somewhere that..." Now I'm wondering if a Cure fanboy army will be at my house with torches. I'm intrigued by bands that use what I call a wall of minimalism. By that I mean that each part is incredibly simple but, when put together, those simple parts make a dynamic landscape of sound.

  • amo este tema!!!... es mi favorito de esta banda..

    mi top 3:

    1_ pictures of you

    2_ just like heaven

    3_ in between days

  • Thank you never heard this song before and The Cure is just what i need now!

    love Peaches

  • Whenever I look through my old yearbooks I play this song on my stereo.

  • great song great group.......liked New Oder bit better back in the day

  • New Order was certainly one of the best as well, no doubt. How cool would it be see both groups playing in the same venue today? The "Super 80's Alternative Tour"... LOL!

  • These guys are absolutely timeless! They were the perfect group in that emerged during the perfect era of music.

  • There was some kind of perfection in that era!

  • hey beetleborg (or what ever your fucking name is) HOMO what......sapien.....get a life u dumb ass

  • homo

  • I'm trying to get this girl to like me. I hope I say the right words, so I don't end up breaking apart my pictures of her.

  • Yeah don't do that...then you can't whack off to 'em (jk!)

  • I never listened to The Cure until I saw "Career girls" (1997) from Mike Figgis, great, touching movie where their music played a major role.

  • yer was on disintergration?smith got the words man,im into metal, these guys seemed to fit at the time

  • yeah dude me too

  • "Würde ja gerne anders fühlen, aber es geht nicht"

  • music in general kicked ass until 1995 imho

  • I feel the same, 95 / 96 was a break for me, and it seems plenty of people agree

  • which female covered this song? i seenit on a tribute of a friend who passed away. its slowed down a bit!

  • the fuck is this?! i thought this is a songs that goes like pictures of you pictures of me ~~

  • that song's by The Last Goodnight

  • hey thanks man i found it

  • @idunnosia who was it?

  • its by the last goodnight

  • actually it was done by the cure first i do believe.

  • Epic Band, Epic Song. Thank you for posting this, Incredibly powerful song.

  • these guys created EMO.

  • Screw you guys, im going home. >>

  • I wouldn't say they created it, but I think they did have some small influence on emo at least. A lot of emo bands grew up listening to the Cure. They're much better than emo though, both lyrically and musically. Plus look at the video - they look like they're having fun! =].

  • Man u are so right.... i completly agree with you

  • that is really great song writing.....bravo

  • these cured my herpes

  • The cure is definately my favourite band. What's up with the people, saying "you were'nt even born in that decade"? I'm 20 now , an why am I not allowed to love the cure with all of my heart?

When I went to their concert in munich,I cried my heart out. Not especially cause the songs we're so sad,no, they are just so touching. My heart just can't withstand Roberts voice...it makes me cry, even listening to their happier songs. Am I one of the "false" fans now, just because of my age? :)

  • The music of The Cure is timeless. Enjoy and pass it on.

  • dont worry about what other people think about you and your "faux fanerisims" some people just want to claim music as there own and they dont like to share. if music touches you all that matters is you and the music that you love nothing else matters really... especially if you are a musician the only thing that matters is if you are making the music that you love and not music that you think everyone wants to hear. god bless you and keep on listening its good for you.

  • amen

  • "Am I one of the "false" fans now, just because of my age? :) "

We are our own judge , but I daresay not .

  • I hope my Ex shows up at my funeral one day- my friends are instructed to play this if he does,,, Most depressing song of dispair EVER... No matter how long you look at the pictures, you cannot bring them back...

  • some how i relate to this song like no other!

  • all ive been through and i cant stop wondering how we were so young i would have done everthing again for sure always.....

  • the cure r one of my favs lol XD

  • canzone storica..... bellissimo il finale a palle di neve xD

  • Opps Salamandrawoman i accidently clicked spam on you instead of reply :x

    i was being sarcastic..

  • gosh this song is awesome reminds me of my first love

  • Yes, me also, this was "our song"...

  • I wrote this book called BEAUTY: EXTINCT I see a lot of girls who eat less to be more pretty and more skinny. But they don't understand and nobody is out there to teach these young girls that the less you eat the more you lose your physical beauty. I give it out free and it is part of a campaign for beauty (physical beauty). If you want a free book just email me at rankotutu@yahoo and i will email you a pdf file. My full name is Ranko Tutulugdzija google me if you think this is a joke

  • @tutulugdzija

I totally agree with you Ranko. Really good initiative from you, we need more people acting like you when we know a little girl with this problem and probably we all know one.

  • brings back alot of good memories long live The Cure :)

  • All I have left of you , Elizabeth . I hope you find what you are looking for.

  • exactly, you can't clasify to "The Cure" in a style of music, they are a fenomenal band and they can make all type of music... thanks Roberth Smith

  • The Cure isnt a goth band -_-

  • dahzebra what hapend with you? The Cure was the begginig of all!!

The sound is not goth, but just read the lyrics and see the Crow. You will see a REAL band!!!!!!!!! No like MCR or something like that!!!

  • You cant classify The Cure - They are simply The Cure - before Goth and Emo existed - They were a brilliant indie band and still are !

  • Yeah I would say indie with slight Goth tendencies too.

  • You're right, I just checked, my pussy is pink in the middle. Is this true for everyone?

  • very good song.dont ruin it,,,just listen

  • wow just a scan of recent comments and I saw both Emo and gay, not necessarily in the same post - how funny, all I ever liked about the Cure and particularly this song was the music and how it made me feel..... hopeful !!! which is weird for a goth band huh?!

  • When the Cure started in the late 70's, they were a New Wave act.. Their Albums 'Pornography' and 'Faith' are at least making the way for Gothic, if not Gothic itself, similar to Bauhaus, Sisters of Mercy, Siouxsie etc. at the time.

Later, the Cure recorded "happier" songs and albums, like this one from '87, but on the two albums mentioned above there isn't one single song that is not dark or gothic and they are probably their most artistic ones.

  • LoL @ this being a happy song.

  • It is, compared to "Siamese Twins", "Faith", "A Night Like This", and many many more. ;)

I remember thinking they are selling out after the album "Pornography".

  • compared to what they wrote previously, it is a very cheerful one, indeed.. ;) A hundred years of blood Crimson The ribbon tightens round my throat I open my mouth And my head bursts open A sound like a tiger thrashing in the water Thrashing in the water Over and over We die one after the other Over and over We die one after the other One after the other "One hundred years", 1981
  • Robert Smith.... and skies fell in... Hear it LIVE!!!

  • good song, no great song timeless....

  • Lol at all the teenagers arguing that this is emo.

  • You're 17... You weren't even born in that decade.

I'm not talking about teenie-bopper emo. Look at Tiger Army or The Shins and tell me how this is really that different. This doesn't have a goth sound.

  • @ZechsMerquise73 no shit, detective. Point is I'm not arguing the genre of the music.

  • lol at you getting angry at younger people for being born in a different time to you.

good job for being 36 years old and still getting into fights with people on the net.

  • This song is a beautifyl melancholly. It's happy and sad at the same time. It wraps you up and comforts you like a warm blanket

  • bar morrisey the best lyrasist of all time...

  • I still have the pictures of my ex wife and our kids on my desk,we are talkin 10 years and I've been single for 3 years because I don't settle, I'm only 33 and I just can't seem to find anything

  • The Cure is the kind of band that will never be replaced. The lyrics are amasing, and the mix of romanticism, gothic...I will always love them.

  • how do u hate the cures lyrics?? thts whats makes them so original u fuckin tool!! great band better song just all around an original sound and meaningful lyrics thts what makes the cure so damn good

  • tool is possibly the greatest word ever invented. and one of the best bands ever.

  • The 'emo genre' started back in the 80's. Emo isn't 'gay'

  • this is not emo

    what is wrong whit you???

  • Its emotionally charged, slow paced, punk rock. The singer is wearing black eyeliner. Give one reason why you disagree with me, other the fact that you find the term derogatory.

  • Emo didnt exist in 1983 when this song was first released. it was classed as Punk, following in the mould of Sioxie and the banshees and the glove etc...

  • This song came out in 1990 not 1983.

  • The hell?

Emo is the new wannabe goth genre.... Which The Cure is closer to than emo...

In fact some even said that The Cure created goth.... Emo didnt start in the 80's thats complete cock.

  • Emo did exist in the 80's; its a gothic subculture. It has more to do with style and sound than "13 year olds being annoying".

In fact, the reason you disagree with me is due to your limited understanding and prejudice. The user who said that the term wasn't main stream in '83 actually had a point. But the term was in use, even in academic study of gothic subculture, by '85.

  • The Hell The Cure started Emo, WTF, who said that? The Cure was Goth, very upbeat, the furthest thing from Emo. No I do not think Him had nearly enough Talent to be ranked with The Cure

  • I Agree.

I Like your Use of Capital Letters in really inaPpropriate placeS.

  • emo = emotional hardcore. Therefore the cure arent emo. well done. :-)

  • @HARRISMOHSIN The Cure? No,,, Do not try to classify,,, my friend.,

  • They aren't really Goth looking cuz Goth means to dress in Gothica you know black make up Robes hoods boots leather

  • hate the lyrics , except the sound.

  • zoyborg, made a wrong true on his way to a Debbie Gidson video

  • The lead singer is married...to a woman...I believe.

  • @zoyborg So you are here looking for gay sex? Welcome. Brave of you to step out of the closet, my new special friend.

  • zoyborg

fuck yourself and go to hell!

  • @4740489 I got him back for being a closet CURE fan. Happy Thanksgiving.

  • i also love this song the cure are fuckin brilliant regardless if any of them are gay so fuckin what its 2009

  • Wat the hell does gay hoav to do with this song? its about love and infatuation...reminds me of when i was young and of my wife now. say the cure at texas stadium back in the 90s...thanks robert smith..u always rock!!!!

  • i liked this song and Im not even gay

  • put them in the rock n' roll hall of fame already

  • That's extremely interesting.

  • this song is beyond amazing

  • this nd lullaby are my fave cure songs

  • Watch My Pics And See What u Think of it and its by me

  • love the video :) and the song, and...I love love everithing in this song :)

  • j aime pas trop le style des mecs mais la musique est bonne.....

  • Brilliant.

  • amzingg song...sorry to the person i disconnected from on omegle btw. =o

  • always in my mind, remembering your lovely smile and all the love I had once with U.

  • pictures of you and just like heaven are their two best songs in my opinion

  • i will always live with pictures of you...

  • my name is robert... and I don't know why

  • I love the set they're using. It looks as if they're on location.

  • I think he uses bigger and brighter and whiter than snow in 2 different songs. Maybe from Love Cats.

  • Jesus wept, I've just been through about 30 commetn pages here & you're all saying exactly the same worthless things, so I doubt you've much distinction as to what makes a good song. Why comment at all?

  • no one's forcing you to read them.

  • No one's forcing anyone to write them either. Why this irrepressible urge to say something totally vacuous?

  • i could say the same thing about your previous comment. Why this irrepressible urge to say something totally rude just because some people liked a song enough to comment about it?

  • Always nice to hear after all those years, the cure for ever...sure.

  • isnt he beautiful, and so young, I wish he had pic of me!

  • this is my favourite song from the cure!! i love it!!

  • the song is so heartbreakingly sublime...memories, some happy, some sad rush in whenever i hear this song...

  • this video is so ironic

a lovely mix of deep sadness and child jokes

  • Guitar riff from 3:01 to 3:21. That´s what hooked me into this fantastic song.

  • Like I said sometime ago, this is as corny as you can get, but we forgive Robert Smith cause he sure knows how to make corny feel good. Makes you feel alive.

  • das ist der schönste song aller zeiten

  • now that u knew what i did with my ... ,,, d ONLY ONE that i will ever have, is carried by YOU ,,, i gave u the best of what i had and loved. Can't believe what this ONE turned 2 be now. Did i ever told u: the bird will never stop flying?

  • God how nostalgic. I love this video.

  • the cure have sooooo many good songs, its really hard to pick a favourite

  • I cant believe this song isn't on their greatest hits album

  • for me too

  • This song holds very special memories for me....

  • Me too... It breaks my heart every time I hear it...

  • My heart is melting like ice into fire.

  • Nice.

  • good song, but kinda drags on.

  • wanna cry xD... beautiful song :)

  • Don't do it-call on your inner strength.

  • love the cure and im 13 lol every second i missed of them kills me. =/ i wish i cud see them in concert 20 years ago

  • I've never seen this video before, but I love it. The idea of playing the song under palm trees on a freezing cold day with snow is the best juxtaposition, and the snowball fight at the end, after such a poignant song, is endearing.

  • love this band

  • Comment removed

  • The Cure = nourishment for my soul

  • this is one of those songs that just hits you in your gut every time you hear it. You can't help but break down and cry.
