what was the experiment? to see if you felt smarter after you could write equally with left hand? because EVERYONE can learn to write with opposite hand with practice. I don't really see the "experiment" in that.
When I broke my arm and I had to learn how to write with my left hand, the O,R,W and X were the hardest to write, cursive is expecially dificult to write.
hehe ive been writing with my opposite hand for 3 weeks and about to go in my forth only on the weekends do i allow myself to write with my proper hand just so i can write with both im determined to keep going at least til christmas holidays in 2 weeks :D
Last year a friend and had a bet running. We are both right handed, but the first person to have a person ask if we were left handed won the bet. we both learned to write with our non dominant hands.
My friend won, but we both kept it up.
Currently I'm taking a technical writing course(necessary for my degree) entirely left handed(as a joke because the course is useless)
you do know that if you do this you could posibly give yourself a great variaty of mental disorders like dyslexia. it can confuse your brain in why you are doing this and it will try to switch hand dominance which is almost inposible to acomplish and not recive mental disorders along the way.
@phoenixsong38 dont talk bulls*** first get d correct info the talk ..u can mislead people.....mental disorders like dyslexia are seen in ''some cases'' in people who r by born ambidextrous...not in those who become one after in their life by practising...human brain is not so stupid and limited tht it will be confused if u train urself 2 write with ur non-dominant hand..rather its a good exercise 4 d brain...dumbo..
@18SUNANDA well if those people are willing to risk there well being then by all means they should do it and yes i know that the human brain isnt stupid but if you do something like that to yourself that means that your puting your well being on the line. not many people de very well when they try this
You should try slowing down and taking your time. It's important to get the technique down and let your brain realize what your are doing since it's doing something knew.
Okay first, awesome music! What is it? Second, you should keep up with this. I've been doing it for, I dunno, maybe a couple of months now and I am at the point where I can actually write somewhat neatly. Looks more like my write handed writing when I'm in a rush. Writing with my left hand is useful at work, I now often have a hand on the mouse and my left hand checking things off and writing little notes, but I've wanted to do this for a while. Good luck!
As a natural left hander, I just have one comment. You're moving your whole arm WAY too much. Most of the writing is done in the left wrist, just like the right. While some arm movement is necessary (unlike the right) you don't need as much as you're doing.
@Mrhamburgerable That is the most complete bullshit I've ever heard. I'm ambidextrous and write with both hands, and there are many other people who also do the same.
The main difference that I can see: If you write with your right hand you're only moving your wrist/hand. If you write with your left hand you are moving your whole arm which doesn't help you to learn how to write left-handed
@2MissMagic2 Here's a fun fact though. Contrary to popular belief, the best way to write actually is using your entire forearm, not just your wrist. If you use your wrist to make all the movements, it'll cramp up faster and can cause carpal tunnel syndrome in people who write frequently. If you learn how to use your entire arm to write, it's actually less straining and can appear much neater if done right.
@MisterBlinkyTheGreat Thank you! I might restart this experiment again some day soon. I gotta get back into the zone soon for doing my little experiments. I've been busy going to physiotherapy for 6 hours a day lately, but I'm almost done.. and I'll have time to experiment again.
@Explinfin When you cross your letter, T's, A's, J's, H's, you make the horizontal lines starting away from the letter and draw to it. As a right handed righter, you start on the letter and draw left to write. Does it matter which way you cross, connect, letters in an effort of being able to write faster left handed?
@simerpreet11 Sorry to be honest I didnt keep up with this experiment.. It lasted about 2 weeks, and I was practising at work and the management got upset with all of the sloppy writing.. hahah.
leonardo use to write with his 2 hands with his left he started from left and with his right he started on the right side and it ended up in the middle thats why i wanna learn how to do that! and nice song lol made me wanna shuffle.
This is not how you learn to write with the other hand. You do it by having to write with the other hand regularly for many months. I swtiched hands 6 months ago.
Please post a new video with your progress!!! This is a great start!!!Keep it up!!! Have you heard of the book called The Other Hand?????? I WAS LAUGHIN' IN MY LAST POST ....NOT TAUNTING....I RAN OUT OF LETTERS!!!
Hiya! Have you thought of purchasing a 4th grade manuscript writing tablet?
I did and work my non dominant hand skills there...lines and scale are important aspects to eventually master. My left hand out paces my right hand, but when I take my time they are nearly identical. Even my signature is the same. I have been facing this challenge since I was a kid...getting better now. I also write backward messages with my left hand clearly & legibly especially when reflected against a mirror!!! Ha!
if you write from left to right you should use right hand if you write from right to left you should use the left hand.arabic languages use to write from right to left.
The ancient Greeks(Hellenes)had developed a unique writing that was called βουστοφιδον(voustofedon) the special thing about βουστοφιδον is that you write both sides.... one line from left to right and next line from right to left and the letters looking backwards....for example when you write from right to left d=b
Im also learning how to write lefty but for some reason when i write with my left hand my right hand seems to tense up. if anyone else has this issue thingy please comment back
Good progress, but you really need more practice. I've had disabling RSI in my writing hand for 3 months now during a very busy part of a Physics degree, so I've learned quickly to write with the other out of necessity. I can write at enough speed to keep up in a phys lecture, and with 99.9% legibility. In a couple of weeks I'm thinking the RSI will have healed enough to reintroduce right hand... at the same time as writing with left ;). Youtube video if I manage it...
i'm learning too! (just so i can right essays out one line per hand (should improve my layout skills and speed up the process of putting my ideas in to words.). maybe one day i'll set up a duo-keyboard/monitor set-up..
ps what song is that? - i'd love to have it as a ringtone or something.
