  • where can i download that program "the blind watchmaker" i want it to do a c++ version for a programing proyect.

  • Luckily for Dawkins, the IT equipment available to him hias evolved...

  • People actually believe that humans lived along side with Tyrannosaurs Rex? So I wonder if they also think they had laser guns and rocket launchers to protect themselves with? Ignorance makes me ill.

  • God, I want those shorts.

  • LOL

Love, love, love the 'optical disk' and the computer!

  • Daaamn Dawkins has some nice legs!

  • lol Dawkins is such a pimp - how many other globally recognized scientists have videos of them in short-shorts lol.

  • Why are we discussing all thus religion and science mumbo-jumbo when at 3:46 we have bigfoot tracks!?!?

    BIGFOOT LIVES!!

  • sooo this is this disk thing i've been hearing about

  • @broncofan92slay i asked microsoft about it, but they havent responded to my telegram.

  • Don't tell me that nature is so intellegent to create a heart inside your chest which you have no control on it , it's God who create everything and he wasn't created that's why i worship him.

  • @ilovesonofmary Nature created a heart inside your chest and you don't have control over it. Now bug off until you have something remotely intelligent to say, whiich of course will never happen.

  • @ilovesonofmary *BLIND* watchmaker. Nature is not intelligent. Nature is indifferent, without intentions.

  • Richard Dawkins should never wear shorts. lol

  • nephillim foot prints ;)

  • Oh God, NOOOOO! Don't think all creationists are as stupid as Texans. PLEASE!

  • @joshualcoombe They are, and we do.

  • "I see some joker has loaded this disc with the book of genesis..." Funny guy. LOL.

  • A massive 500,000,000 characters, wow!

One day I hope we will laugh at religion in the same way we now laugh at that "new" CD.

  • I hope so too. It might sound ridiculous, but I long for the day where the normal civilian is enlightened with the wonders of science, and the average intelligence is raised.

  • "this disk has just came out" haha so old

  • im from bible belt, usa. i wanna buy this book.

  • @850kell531 The Greatest Show On Earth is a great book if you want evidence for evolution.

  • thanks. i had to explain the difference between science and scientology to a classmate the other day. good grief...

  • The world is doomed!

Scientology is as scientific as astrology/alchemy. Just because it sounds like it has the word science in the name is as irrelevant, just like there are no horses chests in horse chest nuts :-)

  • my explanation was mainly saying no, no.. you.... [brain aneurysm, collapse on floor] she is a christian fundamentalist who thinks evolution is funny and sad. livin in america....

  • Those are some old school nut huggers

  • I was impressed to see an Aggie standing up for evolution back in the DAY!!

  • those realy are some damn short shorts...

  • now i know why richard is so vehement and (almost) pissed these days. he's been teaching this for over 20 years and the dumbasses still don't get it! i say give him the "world's most patient human" award. i on the other hand would have throttled my 'students' by now, or shot myself.

  • Comment removed

  • i was just telling my friend that last week when i was watching the video of him interviewing some stupid blonde lady named wendy wright. it was unbelievable how this women treated him and just ignored all the evidence dawkins gave her. it was extremely painful to watch her

  • @hpholland That's the best comment I've read in a long while! Totally agree.

  • In Europe there are no creationists apart from some yesterday-people found in churches or secret sekts. The entire religious delusion is a disgrace for mankind. Its based on death-fear and missing understanding for the fundamental meaninglessnes of life.

  • Umm... lol?

It says 'This video has been removed', but I'm watching the video right now :D

And yeah the books are even better because they can go into more detail. :)

  • im currently reading the book, its awesome, richard fucking dawkins is a genius

  • Those are short shorts.

  • vip900000 - I know exactly what you mean:)

  • مذا تقصد؟

  • how old is this documentary?

  • 1987, BBC tv horizon programme

  • yeah I thought is was pretty old, what with the way he inserted and then had to "lock-in" that CDRom.

And did you get a load of his short shorts, lol.

  • Lol look at that guy's "raiders of the lost tracks" t-shirt.

  • he looks like andy from 'wkrp in cincinnati'

  • consider the source... TEXAS... origibal home of the redneck pecker head, sleeping with your mother, butt fucks

  • When I'm watching this, it says 6,660 views......... Heheheheh..... 666...

  • I love the optical disc he uses.

  • god richard dawkins pws so perfect xD

  • Love those short-pants mr Dawkins!:) lol!

  • thts so gay

  • How do you know jonsen is not a girl?

  • how old was that computer!

  • 46 million years old

  • Pretty modern; didn't you notice the fashions people were wearing?

  • Nice, a very young Richard Dawkins in 1970s fashions . Notice how he's evolved from a Dr to a Prof... ...and he's become a lot richer, too.

  • Rofl "It looks like some joker has programmed it with the book of genesis."

  • The human eye is more complex than any viewing technology we have to date. It adjusts in response to electrical impulses and is constructed of billions of structures that are measured in micrometers.

  • Yep and it evolved.

  • "If I had a gun in one hand & a bowling ball in the other & I was on a flat horizontal plane with no outside forces affecting me & I fired the gun & dropped the bowling ball at the SAME time, which would hit the earth first?

Answer: you explode. You are in a vaccuum on account of having no outside forces affecting you.

Real answer: depends how far up you are: bowling ball, being heavier, has a higher terminal velocity.

Neanderthals were larger than humans. Fossils maybe not made in cretaceous.

  • No, they both hit the floor at the same time.

Drop a feather and a bowling ball on the moon and both land at the same time.

  • ...?

  • They do. What were you questioning exactly?

  • I wasn't talking about the moon, and secondly, there was no feather involved...

  • Doesnt matter. As long as there are no outside forces like air resistance, a feather will hit the ground at the same time as a bowling ball. Same with a bullet. If a bullet is fired straight horizontally it will hit the ground at the exact same time as a bullet dropped from the same height. Thats testable, verifiable and is basic newtonian physics. The weight of the ball has absolutely no impact on the result.

  • True enough. Now find me a situation in which this will actually be a useful argument.

There's always some kind of outside force, isn't there?

  • Its pretty crucial if you are plotting a trajectory!! But just knowing the equations allow you to factor in other forces so you can give more accurate predictions. Sometimes the world behaves very differently to how you might imagine it. Check out the double slit experiment.

  • Heheh, don't take me seriously :P

I haven't lived long enough to learn anything, anyway.

  • BOX5500-The bible cant even get the beginning right & you want me to believe that it can predict the end?Grow up & put your fairy tales away.Utter nonsense.

  • roflmao good one!

  • LMAO! Good Job Celticking26

  • Just accept it people, the Universe was actually created by God, who WAS, actually, yes, created by Super-God, who in turn was created by Super-Duper-God, who was created by Double-Super-Duper God, ad infinitum, and they all actually DO hate amputees!

  • My god, you might be on to something...Amazing...

  • Lol that was pretty funny. but it is as mysterious (i think) how the universe could come to be out of nothing

  • The assumption that the universe came out of nothing is probably just a carry over from creation myths. All the mass energy being in a singularity, then expanding, is not the same as coming from nothing. How this happened (if that is what happened) is indeed mysterious.

  • So something came out of something that came out of nothing. Well thats pretty much what I tried to say, but thanks anyway

  • No. There was never "nothing". Because all matter/energy existed in one singularity before the Big Bang, it was so dense that all space and all time was bent upon this singularity. Therefore, there was no space outside of it, and no time either. Hence, there is no "before" the Big Bang! There was no "nothing" either. Exactly why this singularity exploded out (unfurling space and time and expanding all matter and energy) is unknown, but SST and MVT are promising routes of research.

  • @jamesrobertdobbs I adore your logic. Well done xD

  • rofl look at his booty shorts at 7:06

  • I know lol, it's like they're not even there *dirty thoughts* ;)

  • A serious question: So, if stuff can over time turn into greater stuff...where did the original stuff come from? From the big bang? Where did that come from? Did nothing over time evolve into something? This is not adding up...

  • Just because we do not yet know the answer to what happened before the singularity, is it any reason to assume that a supernatural being did it? And by doing so stop looking for the answer because we can just accept one that is ready made?

  • Yes it's very logical to assume that an immensely large and complex universe was created by a superbeing, That would have to be immensely larger and more complex then what he created.

It's not an answer when you don't have an answer for you're answer, and yes "But God is the alpha and omega" is not an answer. To except God as the creator, then I want to know where he came from in the first place. As does most of the scientific community, which is mostly Christian.

  • Box5500-Please google ad hoc fallacy please before you open your keyboard to try & dumb down utubers.Question:If I had a gun in one hand & a bowling ball in the other & I was on a flat horizontal plane with no outside forces affecting me & I fired the gun & dropped the bowling ball at the SAME time, which would hit the earth first?

  • Sure. The Truth will likely NOT be found on YouTube or Google. But what do I know? I'm not a Top Secret Nuclear Engineer. All I can say is you have no idea of the grim reality you will soon be faced with. I understand why this is not a concern to you now -because it has not been revealed to you. When a man who's eyes have been opened sees a man who remains blind to the Truth, this is what causes him to fall to his knees and worship a very real God and Judge.

    John 6:43-45; 1 Corinthians 1:27-29

  • Box5500-exactly what do you KNOW? You still didnt answer my question. Please google ad hoc fallacy. If I had a gun in one hand & a bowling ball in the other & I was on a flat horizontal plane with no outside forces affecting me & I fired the gun & dropped the bowling ball at the SAME time, which would hit the earth first?

  • The answer to your question is: Neither.

Now you YouTube or Google 'Predestination' and 'Great White Throne Judgment' and tell me why these teachings do no concern you!

  • The answer is both. That what science teaches.Science is the absence of common sense & emotions to better understand how the universe REALLY works not how we think it should work.

  • Whenever new challenging examples of irreducible complexity come up, creationists say by default "it was god" and that's it, but evolutionists are the ones who spend effort to give a plausible (non-ridiculous) explanation. Dawkins discusses about irreducible complexity in "The Worship of Gaps" in his book "The God Delusion".

  • Just to clarify that point, no example of genuine irreducible complexity has ever been found in nature. Were such a thing ever to be found, it could be considered the first genuine example of evidence of a creator. Od course, since there is no creator, no such thing will ever be found. Even if there is a god, why would he build a whole system with only one piece of contradictory evidence/ It defies logic at every step.

  • contradictory 'evidence' against creationism....u mean the hoaxes and fraudulent fossils buried less than six feet under by makeup artists/sculptors? These fakes were used as 'evidence' to disprove creation theory and provide the missing links between man and monkey, and can now be found in the trash textbooks u read in grade school.

  • This is a joke, right?

There are no missing links between man and monkey, because man didn't evolve from monkeys. Learn some science.

  • onanisms101-So what do you make of the geological column??

  • Then you are NOT an Atheist. We, by definition, do not believe in any supernatural "Intelligent Designer" or "God". Both words are synonymous, however much you wish they weren't.If 1% of an eye gives you a slight advantage, you pass it on. 2% gives you an advantage over 1% eyed competitors, and so on. You are an agnostic at best, and a creationist at worst. Don't attempt to call yourself an Atheist. You do those intelligent enough to see through that "Intelligent Design" bullshit a disservice.

  • I think this question about the evolution of a flagellum motor (used as an example of irreducible complexity) has already been EXPLAINED by atheists, which helped the successful outcome of the Dover trial. You can do your "homework" by searching Google for more details.

  • It is spelled "flagellum" and it's NOT part of the majority of our cells, and as a matter of fact we are talking about the flagella of prokaryotic cells.

You reinforce my belief that the less you know the more you tend to be a creationist attracted to the abracadabra of intelligent design.

  • How is this evoloution? With thousands, and I mean thousands of diffrent parts, whitch toke a genuius to make, with the peices having to be perfectly together for the tail of the cell to work. Google it and find something out about it.

  • Watched a movie exact opposite of this, actully, I saw this first and changed my veiws but after seeing this, I changed back, heres the name of the video,

"Unlocking the Mystery of Life: The case for intelligent Design"

So compelling, my 12th grade Biology teacher made us watch it all.

  • Cool shorts!

  • hahhaa, "i see some joker has programmed it with the book of genesis"

  • this programme is soooo old. dawkins shorts are great.

  • Exactly why, excuse me.

  • I love the way he explains evolution by natural selection. Simple to understand, not going into extreme details, but showing exactly creationist arguments don't make much sense.

  • creationist arguments never make any sense, and they aren`t so much arguments as they are proof of the person`s unwillingness to understand what Evolution is in the first place. If they understood Evolution before writing these poorly formed "arguments", they wouldn`t be using bullshit statements like: "Polar bears didn`t evolve white fur cuz predators don`t need to hide themselves, so God just made them white" Though it is clear that they DO need white fur to have any success in stealth.

  • Not to be nitpicky, but polar bear fur is actually translucent, almost transparent. They only appear white because of their surroundings.

But indeed, if people would make an honest effort to truly understand evolution, there would be much fewer creationists.

  • I love Dr. Dawkins! He is one of the greatest thinkers of our time! He's logic is som refreshing

  • Evolution FTW

    thanks for posting this!

  • Damn you Dawkins! I can't get any algebra homework done 'cause I'm too busy basking in your logic!

  • gotta love that stereotyped southern music!

  • Yay, I'm reading this right now! Lol and Dawkins looks very funny in the 80s XD

  • I'm not kidding here, I really think he looked really sexy in those short shorts; as funny as they are!

  • Agreed.

  • omg, it's an optic disc! I've heard about those.

  • Psh, in my day we had... oh wait... I think this video is older than I am...

  • Ahhh, but what about sexay man's short shorts.

  • Ahhh, but what about sexay man's short shorts.

  • lmao, "some joker has programmed it with the book of genesis!" classic.

this must be mid-late 80's, that PC is something else.

  • daaaang look at that computer, it's such cutting-edge technology!

  • it was in the 80's:P

  • LOL!!!
