  • What a BEAUTIFUL love story! ! These two women experienced what many of us spend our lives looking for. True love.

We should all be so lucky!! Thank you for sharing your love story with us. <3<3

  • I love her. I love them. I love their love.

  • Very moving story. The Statue of Liberty introduction gave me goosebumps. The interview filled me with a awareness of bigotry and injustice.

Not too surprising, Although I am both a Canadian and a heterosexual, injustice against one person is injustice against all humans.

  • I'm literally bawling my eyes out. I haven't cried this hard in such a long time.

I'm going to do everything in my power to fight for people like us, Edie.

  • This has nothing to do with religion. It's all about love & human dignity

  • "It has to do with dignity."

    So very much this!

  • Edie's outfit at 1:36 is LIFE.

  • How the fuck could you dislike this video? Cows.

  • un esempio di amore immenso

  • As a Pastor who supports same sex marriage, I want to respond to the comments about "Christians" & God's views. I have long been convinced that Christianity is not about following a set of rules. Instead, it is about God's love for us. When Jesus was asked what is the most important commandment, his reply was, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart soul and mind, and love your neighbor as you love yourself."

  • @intellblonde Unfortunately, there are very few if any pastor's who advocate to love and respect everyone. I am happy to see you do and I would hope that you're teachings can inspire many more pastors.

  • @intellblonde "As a Pastor who supports same sex marriage" that is an Oxymoron. There is no such thing..either your one or the other...or just completely fooling yourself.

  • Respond to this video... Interesting how if anyone disagrees with this video that either they are marked as spam or the comment was removed and yet these are the same people who have accused others of doing it to them wrongfully so for so so long...the real 800 pound gorilla in the room is called hypocrisy, there's no hiding it folks.

  • it should be no shock that people can fall in love with the same sex.

Men having nipples is proof that there is not much difference between men and women and of the billions of people born it's no surprise that nature would allow for all this variation.

    Ask any gay penguin......giraffe......albatross......dophin.....monkey.....

  • she's gorgeous for an older lady!!!! :D

  • this story means alot to me. I mean, this is missing the point, but it feels so good to see gay people in love... like I'm gay, and seeing on the media how gay people are all sex crazy and disease infected, its so refreshing and inspiring, and hopeful, to see that yes, gay people have real emotions, and human needs and the ability to fall in love.

  • @JUSTINMILL3R . Wow. My media is not like that. If your media is, I recommend switching it off.

  • @rg0057 Unfortunately yes... the only exception I can think of is Degrassi lol. But alot of it is just silly stuff... Yeah I dont watch T.V. anymore xD

  • @chandypop u mature idiot!

  • @chandypop unless your blind you can see it says "comments" so i can say watever the fuck i want to say. so why dont u pull up ur pants and grow up u immayur

  • I feel like they can do a movie about their story.

  • I don't understand how people have the audacity to prevent these people who are so deeply madly in love from marrying each other. Just like what she asked, how could marriage be different?

  • Comment removed

  • I think the FG should recognize marriage as marriage whether it being between a man and a woman, a man and a man, or a woman and a woman; it's marriage.

    So much for equality.

  • I am a christian and I love God.

How can I not SUPPORT Gay Marriage?

  • @jixsibabe who gives a damn what you think?

  • One should SUPPORT Gay Marriage if they are christian and love God.

  • This story is very romantic!! It is sweeter than pure table sugar.

  • i can feel god in their love... <3

  • I agree wholeheartedly: Marriage is different. I don't know why, but it is. That is just how my husband and I felt when we were married in Canada in '04. It took a few years for us to say 'husband' when it was appropriate instead of some other word, but it conveys the necessary meaning. Now, with him gone, it still conveys the correct meaning when I say "My husband died in November." Thanks for the film.

  • I wait for the day when the constitution allows marriage between two people who really love each other, whether it be the 2015, 2020, or even 2050. Most of our ancestors (whether not white, female, or even poor) fought for the RIGHT to vote when white people took advantage of it, they sure as hell enjoyed the right to vote. Marriage is a right, and homosexuals will be grateful when they can wed. I bet that when the country allows two homosexuals to get married, the divorce rate will go down.

  • @Southparknscrubs wouldn't it go UP? since there's a great number of people who can get divorced?

  • @777Skeptic I'm saying that since homosexuals realize that marriage means a lot, while heterosexuals who get married take it for advantage. Not to mention a good number people involved in heterosexual marriages are actually gay.

  • whether you are for or against legalizing same sex marriage, i don't see how ANYONE could "dislike" this video. It's so touching and sweet. have a heart people!

  • @sisterware And what will YOU be judged for, sisterware? Or are you without sin of your own?

  • @sisterware

Or, what is more likely to happen for all the "christians" they will stand before their god. When that time comes he will ask if they fed the hungry, clothed the naked, and sheltered the homeless. They may answer yes or no, accordingly. He will ask why did you bring down hatred and fear in my name? Why did you not love as I had loved you? Where did *I* say that I wanted you to prevent homosexuals that *I* made they way they were, and turn them straight? Or you know, we could die.

  • Sooner than you think, America is going to recognize same-sex unions as equally valid as opposite-sex unions! :-)

  • 8 people joined al Qaeda

  • EVERYONE regardless of sexual orientation deserves the right to marry whom they love. This was a beautiful and touching story. If you have a problem with the love that they shared you must not have a soul.

  • "Separation of Church and State" need I say more. This is the problem with the U.S. federal government, they follow the constitution only when it serves them.

  • The problem here is the constitutionality of taxes - not marriage.

  • Marriage is between two people. That should be it, no matter their orientation.

  • Who could dislike this??? It is about basic dignity and human rights.

  • Being only 20 years, getting married is not at the top of my life's "to-do" list. I forget sometimes that my joyous life can become a battlefield if I ever, god forbid, fall in love and get married. It pains me to know that this could be any GLBTQ's future.

We need to remind everyone that we don't simply LIVE in America. We ARE America. Even children understand this is discrimination from reciting in school, "With liberty, and justice for ALL." They don't say, "Except for gays and lesbians."

  • That was so beautiful and touching...I look forward to the moment when I'll be able to tell stories like this and be able to say "that's how it used to be back then...look how far we've come". Hopefully sooner than later.

  • Got me in tears.

  • Beautiful story, best of luck to Edie

  • @streetrace442 Gassing of Jews and abortion are to wholly separate things. It's inappropriate to compare them in any way.

  • @snoman1025 Keep telling yourself that. The only reason you made such a claim is because one you can hear and the other you can't. And if you knew as much about the ACLU founder as I do, you would realize that all they are doing is carrying out the dreams of the KKK. They would file charges against the Klan for killing someone who is black, if they felt the need to, but look the other way for an unborn black person. Is that not what the Klan would do to all if they could?

  • @streetrace442

Fallacy of irrelevance, what does the ACLU have to do with Edie's story? Generic fallacy, even if the ACLU was founded by a supposed Nazi that doesn't mean that the organization actually supports Nazism or other ridiculous belief systems.

You realize that the ACLU supports your right to make an insidious comment like the one you posted, so that makes it hateful by your own logic.

What evidence do you have that the ACLU still supports Catholicism or Nazism, and not free speech?

  • @MaximumAxiom Comments like yours must make the ACLU proud! You have access to the internet just like I do. Find out for yourself where the evidence is. Because we both know that whatever I present, you are going to deny it. You think they support me? That's a joke!

  • Their love is inspiring and they are not the only same-sex couple out there who've spent so many decades together devotedly. The U.S. congress needs to wake up. I'm glad Obama has changed his stance on same-sex marriage and is now more supportive and no longer wants to back/defend the so-called "Defense of Marriage Act." Defense of Marriage...more like Defense of Ignorance. I'm fed up with the ignorance and bigotry. I'm planning on writing my local senator, I encourage others to as well.

  • @stjesuskat666 You should take the time to learn what the definition of bigotry actually means. You and the ACLU are only doing what you do best: showing your ignorances!

  • @streetrace442 Bigotry –noun, plural -ries.

    1. stubborn and complete intolerance of any creed, belief, or opinion that differs from one's own.

    2. the actions, beliefs, prejudices, etc., of a bigot.

    —Synonyms

    1. narrow-mindedness, bias, discrimination.

  • @sEra323 Now you know what you people are because it fits you to a "T".

  • @streetrace442 ...awww thank you! god bless you!

  • @sEra323 Thanks! I saw his reply to my comment and just thought, "at what point did I misuse that word?"

  • @DirectedbyAsian so you hope i die. its funny how liberals want the people that dont agre with them dead. and you think you are such a great person. i was right you people arent human.

  • @usaf317 and the liberals always consider us hate filled just because we disagree with them...

  • @favoritesmoothies I'm liberal and I wouldn't say all who disagree are hate-fulled. I'd say the most vocal opponents are. I don't know you and I don't know why you're opposed (if you indeed are), but I suppose for me it's about allowing two people to just do what they want to do. Everyone is championing this "less government" mantra, yet at the same time saying that it should have the right to interfere in marriage. I don't see them as being mutually exclusive. I guess that's just me though.

  • they were committed to each other for over 42 years. that isn't something that happens all the time whether the union is gay or straight. I cant believe we still have laws which doesn't recognize their union, especially since they are 2 consenting adults who didn't hurt anybody with their relationship.

  • Love is precious. People are people, it does not matter if a man loves a woman, a man loves a man, or a woman loves a woman. Cherish love.

  • THEY WERE MARRIED!!!!!!!!! This woman should not have to be going thru this and the 1,000s+ of other gay couples who have lost a partner!

    RECOGNIZE GAYS AS MARRIED ALREADY!!!!!

  • @DirectedbyAsian what about diseases only known to women? or lesbians? lol

  • @JourneyHome I couldn't agree more.

  • Keep fighting Edie! Keep fighting, God be with you and God bless you, love, hugs and kisses to you.

  • This breaks my heart. Love is love no matter what. Marriage should be between two people who love each other. I hope she wins her case, I really do.

  • No person should be denied the right to marry if they do not share the same lifestyle. Being girlfriends only goes so far. Why not let them have the happiness of saying, "we're married". But as far as I'm concerned, they were. Too bad my government fails to see that.

  • @usaf317 YOUR NOT HUMAN!!!!! PEOPLE LIKE EDIE AND HER SPOUSE DESERVE TO BE REGONIZED JUST AS MUCH AS YOU DO!!!! YOUR SICK!!!

  • @usaf317 how are they not human? its not like they are aliens, they are people like me and you. you may not like it but you can not change the fact that there are people out there who are gay or lesbian and you just have to learn to accept the fact that they are here and aren't going to change who they are just because you and all the other ignorant people dont like it.

  • It's tales like these that made me change my on the fence stance. I'm not big into marriage (I have been in a happy heterosexual relationship for over 11 years without it.), but there are times when I see why people want marriage. Hearing about why same-sex couples want it, marriage seemed more desirable. When the video came to the part about traveling to Canada, I shed a few tears. I am so happy that they were able to do that.

  • This is really inspiring. I really hope that their marriage will be recognized, it's just so wrong the way it is now. My thoughts are with them and their story.

  • Thanks for sharing this epic love story to help everyone understand why marriage equality is so important. How can anyone argue against the union of these two lovely women? Edie, you are an inspiration.

  • What an incredibly beautiful story and a lovely couple. Marriage is different, Edie; it validates our love and commitment.

  • mari windsor of windsor pilates looks like edie

  • *sniffle* Love is a beautiful thing.

    Don't postpone joy indeed.

  • What a sad but lovely story.

  • Sometimes I am so ashamed to be a citizen of the US.

  • Good luck...

  • You go Edie! Love this woman....what a beautiful soul. I'm so sorry for the loss of your beloved Thea.

  • What person with a conscious would deny her the right to marry the love of her life? How is it that these people against Edie claim to be doing the work of good? There is nothing good about wanting to hurt someone else. People on the other side have no genuine concern for Edie. They only hate her.

You go Edie. This needs to end and I hope it ends while you are still around to see it. I really hope you win.

  • Oh, my heart... Go get 'em Edie!

  • Government should have nothing to do with marriage even for heterosexuals: no regulations, no marriage license requirement, no legal status or class, no benefits. The benefit already comes from sharing living space.

When is human society going to grow up and kick government out of our personal lives. Couples need marriage licenses like fish need goggles.

  • I'm proud to live in the country that recognized them in marriage.

  • The 14th Amendment is an amazing thing. DOMA is unconstitutional, and should be joining the scrap heap right next to the old anti-miscegenation laws.

  • They're cute together and obviously happy. Live and let live right? Who are we to judge.
