gosh... there was very clear recorded sound of the seagulfs! We seldom hear/see them these days on the beaches.

Not that I know of, but then, people would not divulge their sexual inclination at that time. The one on the left is the late Enno Develing, also to be seen in another beach clip, who married later and the other Leunus de Priester who I have lost track of. We lived in the same apartment on MacDonnell Road.

Just to re-confirm your suspicion, yes, it's indeed Big Wave Bay. I used to visit it ocassionally in the late 60s till 80s. Been there once few years ago, still haven't changed much.

Good to hear that I had my site correct! Was not sure whether this was Big Wave Bay. I have another clip on YouTube of an office outing to Clear Water Bay, I'm not sure of the whereabouts either. The boy on the left wrote a book in Dutch about his Hong Kong experiences. He is also featured on a motorbike in the other clip. He is dead now. Korsakow's disease. Michael Rogge

Thank you for uploading this. I have regular surfed (1999 - present) Big Wave Bay and it's great to see it 50+ years in the past. The fisherman is sitting in my favorite spot!
