I've said this many times and I'll say this again.. why do we not have a BBC News channel in America? BBC America's 30 minute news program doesn't do.
@earth200 Like I said to the other man, you are being complacent. Aircraft carriers are useful, but not decisive in strategic terms. Nuclear and biological weapons, delivered by Strategic Rocket Forces, are the strategic weapons to think about, especially biological. China is working very hard on both of these, and they are constantly probing your country and gaining access to your technology secrets, thanks to Leftist traitors in your country, including Obama. Don't be complacent.
Democracy is not freeedom or free will in a society its a illusion. Democcracy is like a dicatorship whoever wins the election gotta take order from higher-ups (that have the money) so called Federal reserve which is not actually federal, its a private bank industri. Read it up dont be a fool and trust in democracy is the way for freedom..
Some Libyan terrorist bombed a Berlin discotheque killing one U.S. military personnel. Regan sent the U.S. Navy, Marines, and Air Force to bomb Libya. our heroes managed to bomb a civilian apartment complex, miles from any military targets, killing dozens of children as they slept. Not that Reagan gave two shits. Ronny Reagan rots in hell...
why do so many people like this guy? in the 'Iran-contra scandal' he sold US arms to Iran to fund an unjustified war against Nicaragua because congress wouldn't approve the funds. this bastard undid our constitution and our law and people still won't put him in the same category as president Nixon.
I was 11 when this happened....Old Ronnie did not take any GUFF from Terrorists. I remember thinking like..."Yeah Libya, take that....Its time for your LINE OF DEATH to go home" Wacky Qaddafi. What a Jack Ass. Our Old Vietnam Era F1-11 Took out Tripoli. I KNOW Regan was not perfect...BUT HE HAD BIG BALLS. Best Quote by ANY PREZ...HANDS DOWN 0:48-0:53 OBAMA wishes he was this tough. Da Gipper. R.I.P. Ronnie, your SWAGGER will be missed
@letmelivemylife2008 No, you are out of line. You accused the USA of carrying out air strikes on 'black' nations, when its simply not true.Take the Serbian bombings of 1999, were the Serbians black? It was a fruitless exercise trying to appease Muslims, anyway.Take the Islamic faith, which is built on the racist idealism that they did not want to worship a White Jew, therefore they 'made' their own Black Jesus (Moammed), and a Black God to boot (Allah).Stop this White Liberal bullshit, and learn...
@letmelivemylife2008 Were the Serbians 'brown', then!?! Who are the real racists? I don't want to worship a White Jew, so I'm gonna make my own brown Jesus....Mohammed, and I'm going to have a brown God, Allah, and in my new racist religion, I'm gonna imprint rules which say its fine to take and rape woman outside of my race. Who are the real racists, then, my friend. Take your White Liberal idealism, approach your rectum and work them upwards.
@TumisHumis Detroit.....ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Fackin detroit!!!! Fuck me.....ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!????!!!!!. Fackin hell, that was a good one!!! Anyway, back to our 'debate'....no matter how many times you rearrange the equation here, I still say you are complacent my friend, and that you underestimate. I was taught in the military those three Cs, Complacency and Carelessness leads to Casualty. Know your enemy, the Art of War.. look at what China is up to strategically.......
@10APC I know complacency is bad news, but you can't say one half-built aircraft carrier compared to 13 full functional ones. That's just an example. Thanks for laughing at my joke though, i thought it was lulz too.
@TumisHumis Alright my friend....yes. Don't mention half-built aircraft carriers to our British friends, for its a bit of a sore subject. They ordered two supercarriers, but can't afford them and when they are ready in nine years time, they have to mothball or rent out one for the French to use. They've had to scrap their puny Ark Royal carrier, which were not exactly 'Top Gun', in any event, therefore no carrier capability for a decade. Its been fun debating with you....take it easy.
GREETINGS FROM CANADA! REAGAN THE MAD MAN AND A REAL SERVANT OF THE 20 MULTI-BILLIONAIRE CORPORATIONS THAT RULE THE USA GOVERNMENT AND ITS CRIMINAL INSTITUTIONS CIA, PENTAGON. I WAS BORN IN CANADA FROM SCOTTISH PARENTS, CANADA IS RULED BY 16 MULTI-BILLIONAIRE CORPORATIONS THAT TAKES THE DECISIONS AND PLAY WITH ORDINARY, HONEST AND HARDWORKING PEOPLE TO MAKE MORE BILLIONS, WHEN IT COMES TO CANADA I DON'T SAY "WE" WHY DO YOU SAY "WE" WHEN IT COMES TO THE USA GOVERNMENT AND MONSTER CORP. BLESSINGS
@CULTURALTRAVELS I WAS BORN IN THE UNITED KINGDOM, FROM HUNGARIAN PARENTS, AND MY FAMILY FOUGHT AGAINST THE SOVIETS IN THE 1956 UPRISING. REAGAN WAS NOT MAD, HE WAS A GREAT PRESIDENT, FOR HE TOOK OUT THAT GODLESS EVIL EMPIRE, THE USSR. I AM GRATEFUL TO HIM AND HIS ADMINISTRATION FOR HIS EFFORTS. I BET YOU LIKE THAT SCOT COMMUNIST BASTARD GALLOWAY, WHOM TOOK MONEY FROM SADDAM HUSSAIN AND GADDAFFI. YOU USE A COMPUTER, LIVE COMFORTABLE LIFE IN WEST, YET BLAME THE USA FOR IT. YOU HYPOCRITE.
@10APC: Reagan was a christian fanatic who by his own words was out to bring armageddon by seeking a nuclear war with the USSR. It was a disappointment for him (not openly of course) when the Soviet bureaucracy sold out. I'm curious as to why you don't Saddam Hussein, after that bastard Reagan gave him all that money and weapons. I'm guessing your family was part of the 2000 Horthyite exiles the CIA sent into Hungary in 1956 possibly vets from WWII that not even the bible could save.
@hectorbolshevik I can from your 'name' where your politics lay.The bottom line is that the USSR is dead, and we prevailed. We won and you lost, though the cost was high for both of us.With regards to Saddam, like I've always said, its a jungle out there.Alignments occur out of necessity or practicality=present day's friend can be tomorrows enemy (look at South Africa, once supporter of Israel, then when Mandela took over, supplied mines to Hezbollah). With 1956,we Hungarians gained honour, you lost all.
@10APC Only those truly affected by the troubles will understand these days. These days, we americans are outnumbered by little pussies who think saying no is enough to stop shit from happening. USA has been pussified from within and I would not doubt some other super power will challenge us and invade. Problem is, their chances of success these days are good.
@Datleco You must mean China as the superpower. It does not help having an undercover Communist on the front page of your government. Since that Obama has been in power, China's strength has grown exponentially, and the Chinese are making good use of all those dollars they have acquire. There is still time to rectify the situation by overcoming the Orwellian games played by your media, which has rigged your electoral system and enabled a White Liberal's hand puppet gaining the White House.
@10APC They're most likely of the super powers to invade, they already have tried to hack into the pentagon and our military websites for the past several years, even before Bush came about in office. Even though I don't want it to happen, it seems that's the only thing that'll wake up our country and get us back in being an independent nation who'll fight for what we all hold in common, our very homes and neighborhoods. I know it won't happen soon because it's too risky, but it's getting there.
@Datleco Well,my friend,I know, through my family history, what its like to have a hoard of Godless commies charging through your door (1956 Hungarian uprising was directly why I was born in the UK).There were mass rapes, population subjugation, the banning of religion and free thought. This is what the Communists have to offer.Ultimately,we choose our own destiny, and if your home is worth fighting for, then its up to you,me and anyone else who cares, to make a stand. Otherwise, we become slaves.
@10APC China's growing economy is due to one reason; their government took all the value out of their money, this may not sound like a smart move, but now Chinese people can only afford to buy Chinese goods. If they had the ability to buy Japanese, American, & German cars, their economy would decline. Sooner rather than later America will force them to restore the value in their currency, (Shortly after Obama is voted out.)
@TumisHumis China's military strength is still a problem....it has a vast army, and a rapidly growing technological base. Its developing stealth technology, and is actively acquiring a role in space weaponry. Only your nuclear weapons prevent it from taking Taiwan, possibly South Korea and who knows what else in the future. The problem is what China is doing with its newly acquired wealth....a lot of its going into military tech. If they find a way to cancel out your nuclear capability....
@10APC China's military technology is ancient compared to America's. We've been using technology longer, spend more money on it, and have a head start of i'd say 30 years (minimum) in equipment today. They have virtually no navy, their airforce isn't even the strongest in Asia, and a bloated standing army doesn't make supply lines and logistics any easier. If China and America went to war, you'd see some casualties like never before.
@TumisHumis Complacency - Carelessness - Casualty. Yes, China's military infrastructure is ancient, but this makes it less vulnerable to Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP). You do not need a large navy to project power, for my old enemy the USSR had a similarly weaker navy....its the Strategic Nuclear forces (i.e. ICBM) that gave the USSR, and now China, formidable strength. Don't underestimate the Commie.....if they gain a working Star Wars missile defence capability, all of us are in trouble.
@10APC In terms of military technology (like i said) we're 30 years ahead of them minimum. In terms of Airforce and Space capabilities, it's like... i can't complete this analogy because it's so rediculous. By no means will China have some "Star Wars" missle defence system in the near future. The ICBM threat will be negated by America first and you can bank on that. Besides, World War 3, despite what many believe will be a conventional total war, nuclear weapons will not be exchanged.
@TumisHumis I still think you are being complacent. China is not that far behind....they have stolen a lot of your technology in recent years, and they have been channelling their funds into military tech. They are involved in Space Warface now, my friend. Never assume what any future war can be....take,for example, this Libyan conflict...no one expected it, nor more importantly, planned for it on a governmental level.Anything can literally happen now, my friend. I hope you get rid of Obama.
@10APC Can i break it down once more? We have more, spend more, and know more. Some changes in a bloated GDP that's like less than 33% of ours will not change the world power. They couldn't feed their military if they deployed it in south korea. They wouldn't have a plane in the sky or a boat in the water. Bad news for the bloated army they have.
@TumisHumis My friend, you are still being complacent. This same complacency led to the Pearl Harbour attack. Look at the situation in your country....you've got a half cast President, the son of a white whore, in the White House, whose 'socializing' your country, you've had tons of military secrets been sold to the Chinese. Even when North Korea attacked the south, your country could only launch some 'exercises'. Your country has slid downwards...you need to renew and counter the Chinese threat
@10APC America wasn't a world power at the time of the pearl harbor attack. We've got a piece of shit socialist president, but the good news is; he can't get anything done. Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, maybe Ron Paul, but honestly i think he's an idiot (politically) Would all make huge improvements with foreign policy and strengthen the United States. Numbers don't make sense to you, reason doesn't make sense to you, playing "devil's advocate" is helpful sometimes, but take a break.
@TumisHumis You amuse me, my friend....don't forget that we are on the same side of the pitch, in general political terms. I know you are very proud of your nation, and you are right to be so, but you are too complacent about external threats. I do owe some gratitude to your nation, in particular to the gentleman featured in this video, in getting rid of the USSR. This freed many of my relatives to the East. The motivations behind my critique are purely because I care a bit about the USA too.
@10APC If shit went down, and we told India, Pakistan, and Turkey "If you aren't with us, you're against us." (The United States & European Union) They wouldn't hesitate. Two Rouge states & Shit-ass Russia along with Shit-ass China pose less of a threat to the world than Italy did in the 40s. (And that's not much of a threat)
we need this man now he had balls OBAMA IS FUCKEN GAY , the whore who had him was a WHORE , we need regan , OBAMA dosnt have the guts nor the permission to tell the world to get fucked BUT regan did ! i know i was there and 30 years old
@10APC I always said that Reagan had balls big enough to fit in a 50 gallon barrel. I wish a man like him would get into the white house again. There was alot of joking about Reagan while he was in office and after he left but it was all in good humor and Reagan even participated at times in making fun of himself. All that aside, he was a hell of a president and the country prospored when he was in office. He also didnt take any shit from anybody, foreign or domestic and never backed down.
@AsriaDurden5558 I definitely agree with you. I am a little biased towards him because of his stance against the USSR, as I am a 'child' of the Hungarian Uprising of 1956, having been born in the UK, but both my parents being Hungarian.. Taking out the USSR, without either conventional or nuclear war, was an amazing feat of huge historical significance, which has not really been appreciated yet either side of the Atlantic.
@didyouseethatshit777 I sympathize with you with your hate of war,but unfortunately its the way of the world. We in the West live comfortable lives which is dependent on oil and other primary resources.Your country has to juggle many balls to keep some sort of order in the Mid East, and unfortunately, this means people get killed.Doing nothing, still means people die.If you drive a car,use a computer, then you are a part of this, just the same as me.Its a jungle out there,my friend.
@xCoDRapageX Oh didnt realize I was in a conversation with an ignorant 12 year old...but the Call of Duty in the name really should of been a clear indicator that you think your the shit and can do anything....but in reality all you can do is comment meaningless threats to important people on youtube...So mature! *Sarcasm*
Does anyone remember OIL-FOR-FOOD scam during the No-Fly Zone/sanctions time for Saddam in the 90's? Corrupt members of the UN's bureaucracy and Saddam made millions off our sanctions. Here we go again. I am not one of those crazy NO BLOOD 4 OIL people. But in this instance I really think it is appropriate to examine BP's role in this whole thing. Less than a few years ago BP execs and most the Euro leaders (as well as Obama) were literally bowing, shaking Gaddafi's hand.
I have not seen a single news organization in the States even mention that we bombed them in 1986. Also no mention that USA started a no-fly zone over Iraq after first Gulf War, it did not stop until we began the ground war in 2003... NO mention of BP's interest in this as well.
Plus, some "rebels" are quoted in their combat videos claiming Gaddafi is a Zionist Jew in bed with the USA... and now we will support them, like we did the Osama and the Muj in Afghanistan... let France deal with it.
i love how reagan says and we will do it again if needed and when he said they thought we would be passive well they thought wrong. the only thing I would have added is you just cant go wrong with good old fashion american ass whippin
I think the world was a much better place when this man was in power. it was a time when the underlying policy was: "Please don't fuck with us, because we will respond". After this incidient, the mentally unstable kaddaffi stopped supporting, financing and participating in terrorist acts throughout Europe. Today, that same attitude manifests itself in the killing of his own Lybian people because they are tired of the brutality of his family regime. Get rid of him.
@iqmygift2u Yes...but he did much more.He brought down that ultimate evil,a threat greater than a thousand Al Qaeda's - the USSR.Removing the USSR helped the world greatly, especially by ending the ICBM nuclear missile stand off with USA.Unfortunately,a lot of his great work is being undone in your country, the main symbol of this undoing being the election of that undercover communist you call President Obama...and removing him ASAP is a much greater priority for your national interest.
@Artist1974CH Well....I'm sorry you feel that. I'm not American, I live in Britain, but my family came from behind the Iron Curtain. I cannot help but be grateful that the USSR was killed off. I know that the Reagan administration was not 'perfect', in any such way, but I feel the benefits outweighed the disadvantages. I would rather live with Thatcher and Reagan, than living in poverty and under oppression in a Soviet style command economy.
americaisreal is the fucken biggest terrorist, attack Libyan and they will open the gate of hell to send great satan and little satan back their where it fucken belongs. you will never have the strength to invade Libyan never!!!!
Quran Verse -- "For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle. The Wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah and lo, while some of the people trembled in despair, still more rejoiced; for the Wrath of the Eagle cleansed all the lands of Allah; and there was peace."
Gaddafi is about to suffer the Wrath of the Eagle. ;)
I don't think America should react to the current troubles in Libya. It is always expected to get involved when there is a world shitstorm and then roundly criticised by the international community for interfering. If I was Obama I'd tell the rest of the world to get fucked. Someone else sort it out. Germany: pick up the cudgel for a change. France: you have the historical imperative - you call this one. We are fucking busy. Now piss off.
@HitMeQuick Same applies to the UK government. It's about oil as usual. The yemeni and Bahreini governments are massacring their own people but nobody is planning to bomb them. Why?
@Withnail1969 All we have at this stage is a UN resolution. I think you are being too simplistic in your assessment. Let's see what happens eh. My point was about the US. It's nice to see them handing responsibility to the UN. What's interesting is how indecisive and frightened they are to make a decision.
@Withnail1969 Or it might all die down. You sound very certain about it all, Do you want to make any other predictions for the region. No doubt you called the Egyptian crisis correctly did you? Why can't Arab countries rise up against dictatorships and juntas for no other reason than freedom?
@HitMeQuick the uprising is nothing but a few western stooges. they would have won by now if there was any real support for the 'rebels'. just when they have almost completely failed, the western bombing starts. next stop, western troops and oilfields siezed. end of discussion.
@HitMeQuick If france didn't aid America in our revolution, we'd have shitty fucking accents and socialized medicine. Thank god they helped us, now we need to help lybia.
@TumisHumis Well help if you must but I think if you do it's best done under the auspices of the UN or NATO at least to avoid handing the Arab world the chance to condemn a US led attack as an attack on Muslim territory. As for "socialized medicine" as you call it, you're right. How daft of the UK to believe in fairness and looking after people. Your way is far better.
@HitMeQuick No shit it's far better, the government has no part in the Health Insurance business. I'd rather live in a country without Glass ceilings and floors. "Capitalism is god's way of seperating the Rich from the Dumb."
@TumisHumis We don't have a health insurance business as such - unless you go private. We don't discourage choice you see. We pay for our health "insurance" through taxation. But anyway... I'm essentially supportive of America's role as world policeman, however it does make umpteen mistakes through inexperience which is why I think Britain and France should deal with this - like they would have 50 or 60 years ago - with a sound understanding of the region and a couple of gunboats.
@HitMeQuick I don't want to live in a country where people that succeed are punished. England and France are weak countries, the U.S Military is 5 times more powerful than the two combined. England, france, and the rest of the U.N are the reason America has problems dealing with shit like this. We a conservative government to get us the hell out of the U.N, or to assume our role as the leaders of it, beside Japan and Germany (Two members that contribute more than france/england.)
@TumisHumis It's not just about money. Germany and Japan may contribute more cash but that's got more to do with GDP and their economies. On the ground and expertise wise you want Britain and France for this one. You also need the British for counter-insurgency with al-Queda (we became experts for 25 years dealing with the IRA) - Where are the Japs and the Germans on this one? Being pretty weak. I don't know where you learnt your history but instead of throwing out insults you should read more.
@HitMeQuick Counter Insurgency has nothing to do with Libya. Its a straightforward civil war : pro-Gaddafi v anti Gaddafi, just like the English Civil war was pro-monarchy and anti-monarchy (a simplistic comparison, but relevant anyway).Gaddaffi has supporters. Its simply a case of choosing a side and enabling that side to win decisively. Bahrain, for example, is the opposite, where the minority Sunnis leadership is being supported by Saudi intervention, inevitably with US and British backing.
@10APC You misunderstood. I was defending the British and French against his claim they are weak and ineffective and ADDED that counter insurgency was a FURTHER benefit in the continuing police round up of Al Quaeda. Wherever that is. Clearly different from Lybia but nonetheless an example of how the British do have some previous success in this area with the IRA. And Britain and France used to run the show in the Middle East quite neatly until Alerican intefered in Suez.
@HitMeQuick The prevalent theme is Libya, though, and Al Qaeda has nothing to do with the Libyan matter whatsoever. Our American friend is correct to assert the lack of power and influence that both France and UK have, in comparison to the USA.For nearly a decade and a half, the UK has been under socialist control, and the result has been mass immigration with complete loss of national identity and loss of sovereignty to the EUSSR. France has similarly been damaged. There needs to be change in EU
@10APC I agree with much of that. Which was my point at the start, frustratingly. Here is an opportunity for France and Britain to prove thier worth but America can't stomach it. So we get this weird situation where the US back off initially, then dictate the early sorties of fighter jets and then within 4 days suggest control should pass to Nato. You either start with a clear concensus or you don't . America had every right to take a back seat at the kick off. But they're not able to.
@HitMeQuick The confusion is due primary resources that Libya holds. The commie Labour party did much to woo that animal Gaddaffi and his sons, purely because of the oil there, including the 'arranged' release of the Lockerbie bomber. The question a couple of weeks ago,was whether it was in the national interest to have Gaddaffi still there or not.If Gaddaffi was allowed to over-run Bengazhi, the conflict would change from civil war to counter insurgency(rebels would have melted away, like Iraq).
@HitMeQuick With Bahrain, where the Sunni minority run the Shites,Saudi intervened quick to ensure Iran backed Shites did not get a foot hold to threaten their oil fields. You don't see the West interfering there, purely because its against national interest. With Libya, its simply sufficient to the West to kill off Gaddaffi and sons, and get a new 'friendly government' to keep access to oil.Morals don't come into this, for if things were the other way,the Mid East lot would have done it to us.
@HitMeQuick You want the French if your ground tactics are; Retreat. You want the Brittish is your ground tactics are; Hold em', and call the Americans.
@TumisHumis But WW2 in Europe is not the topic is it Turmis you vast bell-headed doofus from Milwaukee or wherever you are. The British and French have years of experience in this part of the world, North Africa/ Suez etc. For someone purporting to be 47 your approach to this is all very silly. You have the debating skills of a boy who has fallen into a pond. I expect having a beer with you would be a long, drawn out affair as you rattled off one crude stereotype after another. And then belched.
@HitMeQuick The pretentious foreigner thinking deploying peacekeeping troops gives a country's military experience. The military exists to blow things up and kill people, that's the only reason to use it.
What are we busy doing? We have over a million soldiers ready to deliver freedom anywhere quickly. I personally won't stand by and watch others less fortunate be slaughtered or enslaved who want and need help. We have the resources. Yeah the news tells us we're poor, but we actually seem to be doin quite well. We just need to get our finances straight at home. We need people to act right and be responsible. We need educated Americans to get to work to create a better world and USA
@colon767 That was the plan, they missed and 2 years later Libyan intelligence blew up an airliner over Scotland in retaliation.. but the US didn't want a full scale war with Libya so they called it even..
Reagan was right about Gadaffi. However Reagan was in no way trying to eradicate terrorism from the Earth. Reagan himself was the greatest terrorist in history at that point, and the US continues to be the greatest terrorist state.
@Withnail1969 i totally agree with you america has been and still is the most terrorist state in the world along with the palestina occupied so called country israel.
@DETTO33 ...Tell that to the people who are still alive from WWII you moron...We gave up 50,000 lives to liberate France from the Nazis, thousands to beat back the vicious Japanese from the Philippines....thousands more driving the NKoreans and Chinese back from SKorea...Helped stop the spread of murderous communisim through out South East Asia...Terrorist State huh?
Mabey you should have stayed in school you ungrateful fuck.
@Withnail1969 o please stop choking a dead horse with that bs. You mean to say american in less then 200 yrs really commited more crimes against hummanity and terror then other countries. Don't know where your from and i don't give a shit but look in your own back yard cause i'm sure your nation has done far worse in its history. Especially if your of european origin.
Tim Sebastian, great BBC correspondent from the 1980s, though it has to be said, reports like this contributed to the image that BBC viewers had of Reagan's America as a trigger-happy nation with a simplistic worldview.

letmelivemylife2008 11 months ago
@letmelivemylife2008 No, you are out of line. You accused the USA of carrying out air strikes on 'black' nations, when its simply not true.Take the Serbian bombings of 1999, were the Serbians black? It was a fruitless exercise trying to appease Muslims, anyway.Take the Islamic faith, which is built on the racist idealism that they did not want to worship a White Jew, therefore they 'made' their own Black Jesus (Moammed), and a Black God to boot (Allah).Stop this White Liberal bullshit, and learn...
10APC 11 months ago
@10APC Who crapped in your corn flakes? I said brown not black. I'm just telling it like it is. Something most people have forgotten how to do.
letmelivemylife2008 11 months ago
@letmelivemylife2008 Were the Serbians 'brown', then!?! Who are the real racists? I don't want to worship a White Jew, so I'm gonna make my own brown Jesus....Mohammed, and I'm going to have a brown God, Allah, and in my new racist religion, I'm gonna imprint rules which say its fine to take and rape woman outside of my race. Who are the real racists, then, my friend. Take your White Liberal idealism, approach your rectum and work them upwards.
10APC 11 months ago
The only reason we bomb these places is because they're full of brown people. Bottom line.

@letmelivemylife2008 Why haven't we bombed Detroit? Huge hole in your theory.

10APC 11 months ago
@10APC I know complacency is bad news, but you can't say one half-built aircraft carrier compared to 13 full functional ones. That's just an example. Thanks for laughing at my joke though, i thought it was lulz too.
TumisHumis 11 months ago
@TumisHumis Alright my friend....yes. Don't mention half-built aircraft carriers to our British friends, for its a bit of a sore subject. They ordered two supercarriers, but can't afford them and when they are ready in nine years time, they have to mothball or rent out one for the French to use. They've had to scrap their puny Ark Royal carrier, which were not exactly 'Top Gun', in any event, therefore no carrier capability for a decade. Its been fun debating with you....take it easy.

10APC 11 months ago
@10APC: Reagan was a christian fanatic who by his own words was out to bring armageddon by seeking a nuclear war with the USSR. It was a disappointment for him (not openly of course) when the Soviet bureaucracy sold out. I'm curious as to why you don't Saddam Hussein, after that bastard Reagan gave him all that money and weapons. I'm guessing your family was part of the 2000 Horthyite exiles the CIA sent into Hungary in 1956 possibly vets from WWII that not even the bible could save.
hectorbolshevik 11 months ago
@hectorbolshevik I can from your 'name' where your politics lay.The bottom line is that the USSR is dead, and we prevailed. We won and you lost, though the cost was high for both of us.With regards to Saddam, like I've always said, its a jungle out there.Alignments occur out of necessity or practicality=present day's friend can be tomorrows enemy (look at South Africa, once supporter of Israel, then when Mandela took over, supplied mines to Hezbollah). With 1956,we Hungarians gained honour, you lost all.
10APC 11 months ago
@10APC Only those truly affected by the troubles will understand these days. These days, we americans are outnumbered by little pussies who think saying no is enough to stop shit from happening. USA has been pussified from within and I would not doubt some other super power will challenge us and invade. Problem is, their chances of success these days are good.
Datleco 11 months ago
@Datleco You must mean China as the superpower. It does not help having an undercover Communist on the front page of your government. Since that Obama has been in power, China's strength has grown exponentially, and the Chinese are making good use of all those dollars they have acquire. There is still time to rectify the situation by overcoming the Orwellian games played by your media, which has rigged your electoral system and enabled a White Liberal's hand puppet gaining the White House.
10APC 11 months ago
@10APC They're most likely of the super powers to invade, they already have tried to hack into the pentagon and our military websites for the past several years, even before Bush came about in office. Even though I don't want it to happen, it seems that's the only thing that'll wake up our country and get us back in being an independent nation who'll fight for what we all hold in common, our very homes and neighborhoods. I know it won't happen soon because it's too risky, but it's getting there.
Datleco 11 months ago
@Datleco Well,my friend,I know, through my family history, what its like to have a hoard of Godless commies charging through your door (1956 Hungarian uprising was directly why I was born in the UK).There were mass rapes, population subjugation, the banning of religion and free thought. This is what the Communists have to offer.Ultimately,we choose our own destiny, and if your home is worth fighting for, then its up to you,me and anyone else who cares, to make a stand. Otherwise, we become slaves.
10APC 11 months ago
@10APC China's growing economy is due to one reason; their government took all the value out of their money, this may not sound like a smart move, but now Chinese people can only afford to buy Chinese goods. If they had the ability to buy Japanese, American, & German cars, their economy would decline. Sooner rather than later America will force them to restore the value in their currency, (Shortly after Obama is voted out.)
TumisHumis 11 months ago
@TumisHumis China's military strength is still a problem....it has a vast army, and a rapidly growing technological base. Its developing stealth technology, and is actively acquiring a role in space weaponry. Only your nuclear weapons prevent it from taking Taiwan, possibly South Korea and who knows what else in the future. The problem is what China is doing with its newly acquired wealth....a lot of its going into military tech. If they find a way to cancel out your nuclear capability....
10APC 11 months ago
@10APC China's military technology is ancient compared to America's. We've been using technology longer, spend more money on it, and have a head start of i'd say 30 years (minimum) in equipment today. They have virtually no navy, their airforce isn't even the strongest in Asia, and a bloated standing army doesn't make supply lines and logistics any easier. If China and America went to war, you'd see some casualties like never before.
TumisHumis 11 months ago
@TumisHumis Complacency - Carelessness - Casualty. Yes, China's military infrastructure is ancient, but this makes it less vulnerable to Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP). You do not need a large navy to project power, for my old enemy the USSR had a similarly weaker navy....its the Strategic Nuclear forces (i.e. ICBM) that gave the USSR, and now China, formidable strength. Don't underestimate the Commie.....if they gain a working Star Wars missile defence capability, all of us are in trouble.
10APC 11 months ago
@10APC In terms of military technology (like i said) we're 30 years ahead of them minimum. In terms of Airforce and Space capabilities, it's like... i can't complete this analogy because it's so rediculous. By no means will China have some "Star Wars" missle defence system in the near future. The ICBM threat will be negated by America first and you can bank on that. Besides, World War 3, despite what many believe will be a conventional total war, nuclear weapons will not be exchanged.
TumisHumis 11 months ago
@TumisHumis I still think you are being complacent. China is not that far behind....they have stolen a lot of your technology in recent years, and they have been channelling their funds into military tech. They are involved in Space Warface now, my friend. Never assume what any future war can be....take,for example, this Libyan conflict...no one expected it, nor more importantly, planned for it on a governmental level.Anything can literally happen now, my friend. I hope you get rid of Obama.
10APC 11 months ago
@10APC Can i break it down once more? We have more, spend more, and know more. Some changes in a bloated GDP that's like less than 33% of ours will not change the world power. They couldn't feed their military if they deployed it in south korea. They wouldn't have a plane in the sky or a boat in the water. Bad news for the bloated army they have.
TumisHumis 11 months ago
@TumisHumis My friend, you are still being complacent. This same complacency led to the Pearl Harbour attack. Look at the situation in your country....you've got a half cast President, the son of a white whore, in the White House, whose 'socializing' your country, you've had tons of military secrets been sold to the Chinese. Even when North Korea attacked the south, your country could only launch some 'exercises'. Your country has slid downwards...you need to renew and counter the Chinese threat
10APC 11 months ago
@10APC America wasn't a world power at the time of the pearl harbor attack. We've got a piece of shit socialist president, but the good news is; he can't get anything done. Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, maybe Ron Paul, but honestly i think he's an idiot (politically) Would all make huge improvements with foreign policy and strengthen the United States. Numbers don't make sense to you, reason doesn't make sense to you, playing "devil's advocate" is helpful sometimes, but take a break.
TumisHumis 11 months ago
@TumisHumis You amuse me, my friend....don't forget that we are on the same side of the pitch, in general political terms. I know you are very proud of your nation, and you are right to be so, but you are too complacent about external threats. I do owe some gratitude to your nation, in particular to the gentleman featured in this video, in getting rid of the USSR. This freed many of my relatives to the East. The motivations behind my critique are purely because I care a bit about the USA too.

DJxFaded 11 months ago
I have not seen a single news organization in the States even mention that we bombed them in 1986. Also no mention that USA started a no-fly zone over Iraq after first Gulf War, it did not stop until we began the ground war in 2003... NO mention of BP's interest in this as well.
Plus, some "rebels" are quoted in their combat videos claiming Gaddafi is a Zionist Jew in bed with the USA... and now we will support them, like we did the Osama and the Muj in Afghanistan... let France deal with it.

After this incidient, the mentally unstable kaddaffi stopped supporting, financing and participating in terrorist acts throughout Europe. Today, that same attitude manifests itself in the killing of his own Lybian people because they are tired of the brutality of his family regime. Get rid of him.

@HitMeQuick Same applies to the UK government. It's about oil as usual. The yemeni and Bahreini governments are massacring their own people but nobody is planning to bomb them. Why?
Withnail1969 11 months ago
@Withnail1969 All we have at this stage is a UN resolution. I think you are being too simplistic in your assessment. Let's see what happens eh. My point was about the US. It's nice to see them handing responsibility to the UN. What's interesting is how indecisive and frightened they are to make a decision.
HitMeQuick 11 months ago
@HitMeQuick a UN resolution which will be used as cover for bombing and the capture of oilfields. the US will be there too.

As for "socialized medicine" as you call it, you're right. How daft of the UK to believe in fairness and looking after people. Your way is far better.
HitMeQuick 11 months ago
@HitMeQuick No shit it's far better, the government has no part in the Health Insurance business. I'd rather live in a country without Glass ceilings and floors. "Capitalism is god's way of seperating the Rich from the Dumb."
TumisHumis 11 months ago
@TumisHumis We don't have a health insurance business as such - unless you go private. We don't discourage choice you see. We pay for our health "insurance" through taxation. But anyway... I'm essentially supportive of America's role as world policeman, however it does make umpteen mistakes through inexperience which is why I think Britain and France should deal with this - like they would have 50 or 60 years ago - with a sound understanding of the region and a couple of gunboats.
HitMeQuick 11 months ago
@HitMeQuick I don't want to live in a country where people that succeed are punished. England and France are weak countries, the U.S Military is 5 times more powerful than the two combined. England, france, and the rest of the U.N are the reason America has problems dealing with shit like this. We a conservative government to get us the hell out of the U.N, or to assume our role as the leaders of it, beside Japan and Germany (Two members that contribute more than france/england.)
TumisHumis 11 months ago
@TumisHumis It's not just about money. Germany and Japan may contribute more cash but that's got more to do with GDP and their economies. On the ground and expertise wise you want Britain and France for this one. You also need the British for counter-insurgency with al-Queda (we became experts for 25 years dealing with the IRA) - Where are the Japs and the Germans on this one? Being pretty weak. I don't know where you learnt your history but instead of throwing out insults you should read more.
HitMeQuick 11 months ago
@HitMeQuick It's about money pal, i don't know where you were educated, but it's about money.
TumisHumis 11 months ago
@HitMeQuick Counter Insurgency has nothing to do with Libya. Its a straightforward civil war : pro-Gaddafi v anti Gaddafi, just like the English Civil war was pro-monarchy and anti-monarchy (a simplistic comparison, but relevant anyway).Gaddaffi has supporters. Its simply a case of choosing a side and enabling that side to win decisively. Bahrain, for example, is the opposite, where the minority Sunnis leadership is being supported by Saudi intervention, inevitably with US and British backing.
10APC 11 months ago
@10APC You misunderstood. I was defending the British and French against his claim they are weak and ineffective and ADDED that counter insurgency was a FURTHER benefit in the continuing police round up of Al Quaeda. Wherever that is. Clearly different from Lybia but nonetheless an example of how the British do have some previous success in this area with the IRA. And Britain and France used to run the show in the Middle East quite neatly until Alerican intefered in Suez.
HitMeQuick 11 months ago
@HitMeQuick The prevalent theme is Libya, though, and Al Qaeda has nothing to do with the Libyan matter whatsoever. Our American friend is correct to assert the lack of power and influence that both France and UK have, in comparison to the USA.For nearly a decade and a half, the UK has been under socialist control, and the result has been mass immigration with complete loss of national identity and loss of sovereignty to the EUSSR. France has similarly been damaged. There needs to be change in EU
10APC 11 months ago
@10APC I agree with much of that. Which was my point at the start, frustratingly. Here is an opportunity for France and Britain to prove thier worth but America can't stomach it. So we get this weird situation where the US back off initially, then dictate the early sorties of fighter jets and then within 4 days suggest control should pass to Nato. You either start with a clear concensus or you don't . America had every right to take a back seat at the kick off. But they're not able to.
HitMeQuick 11 months ago
@HitMeQuick The confusion is due primary resources that Libya holds. The commie Labour party did much to woo that animal Gaddaffi and his sons, purely because of the oil there, including the 'arranged' release of the Lockerbie bomber. The question a couple of weeks ago,was whether it was in the national interest to have Gaddaffi still there or not.If Gaddaffi was allowed to over-run Bengazhi, the conflict would change from civil war to counter insurgency(rebels would have melted away, like Iraq).
10APC 11 months ago
@HitMeQuick With Bahrain, where the Sunni minority run the Shites,Saudi intervened quick to ensure Iran backed Shites did not get a foot hold to threaten their oil fields. You don't see the West interfering there, purely because its against national interest. With Libya, its simply sufficient to the West to kill off Gaddaffi and sons, and get a new 'friendly government' to keep access to oil.Morals don't come into this, for if things were the other way,the Mid East lot would have done it to us.

We need educated Americans to get to work to create a better world and USA

you should have killed gaddafi
colon767 1 year ago
@colon767 That was the plan, they missed and 2 years later Libyan intelligence blew up an airliner over Scotland in retaliation.. but the US didn't want a full scale war with Libya so they called it even..

Reagan was right about Gadaffi. However Reagan was in no way trying to eradicate terrorism from the Earth. Reagan himself was the greatest terrorist in history at that point, and the US continues to be the greatest terrorist state.

Tim Sebastian, great BBC correspondent from the 1980s, though it has to be said, reports like this contributed to the image that BBC viewers had of Reagan's America as a trigger-happy nation with a simplistic worldview.
