I loved this music from the Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy trailer, so I'm not surprised to find it's by Danny Elfman! It works with that trailer so brilliantly.
Probally one of Elfman's best scores. Yeah , it's a little Dracula '79' and '92' , but still a overall wonderful and original soundtrack. Works perfect for the movie. Great upload. 5 stars.
Ah, at last he's back. The Gothic Elfman... I love his "older" scores... especially Batman Returns, Darkman and Nighbreed. Wofman fits is VERY nicely!
@ShriekoftheVulture - Yeah that's a technique used often by Michael Giacchino with like his Lost and Fringe scores. It's called sul ponticello, which means "near the bridge". It's when the string players (in this place I'm thinking it's a cello playing it) plays on the strings right up next to the bridge making a creepy scraping sound.
I love this movie.

Thumbs up if you're here, not because of the Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy trailer... Anyone... Nobody... Yeah, me neither...

For those saying this sounds like Dracula.... Elfman actually got his inspiration from the score by Wojciech Kilar. I love them both.
sparkkle2 4 months ago
@sparkkle2 Ah, I wondered about that. How fitting that it was used in the trailer for another Gary Oldman movie!

A bit of Dracula and the 2005 King Kong in this score, methinks.

Love Elfman and Trent Reznor, both who came from very diverse rock bands and expand their musical talents to film.

@AiDaN91 mostly the melody is also inspired in Dracula, being Kilar's or William's
