  • This is really great. As a Canadian I am awfully proud!

  • hi ... LONG LIVE BELARUS !!!! greetings from Serbia :)))

  • I'm just wondering....

When I found this, I thought it would be at least SOME exploring of "Closed Zones" like similar videos in Ukraine...

Did you ever visit "Exclusion Zones" in Belarus?

  • @b0n3z3z Yes. In episode 4A we visit the Exclusion Zone.

    Thanks for watching.

    Eric

  • nice work Canada

  • PHEW having to handshake every one, Thats alot of Leg work for someone of my Physical energy levels, never going to Belarus for sure

  • This is so touching!!!

Spasibo for everything you do for these kids!

I am from Belarus and deeply appreciate your efforts.

  • What year was this in? And why do you distinguish between Belorussians and Russians? Theres Velikaya Rus, Malo Rus, and Belo Rus. Different parts of Russian, but the same country.

  • @RFXCGZZ - This trip took place in 2006, 20 years after Chernobyl. I distinguish between them because Belarus is a separate country from Russia and has been since the breakup of the USSR.

  • if they have grandparents and relatives to visit why are they orphans

  • @jsmith0433 - Approximately 70% of the children in the orphanages are not true "orphans" but their family has lost their rights to the children due to alcohol or abuse. Some children are placed there by parents simply because they do not have the means to care for them.

  • @jsmith0433 or dont have the money

  • This is so sad...

  • Really intresting....I played Cod4 and really wondered about Chernobyl.

  • Is there any way I could help out?

  • a lot of people from different countries help to belarussian children!!!cuz they all have diseases such cancer and etc. Thanks to american and Canadians!!!!

  • a lot of people from different countries help belarussian children!!! cuz many children in belarus have a lot of diseases such cancer and etc. its really awfull!!!! thanks to canadian and americans!!!!

  • The video is great! And we should be thankful to God for those who are going to do this hard work for kids.....

  • u should go to Uzbekistan (the city of Tashkent) orphans..... u'll be in shock!!! plus if you heard some real stories from children you will be more shocked! Plus they don't have computer at all and restroom system is worth ever!

  • Thanks for your note. I am sure there are many places in the world that are worse than Belarus, however since we have a local dedicated charity it makes this region accessible to me. If we all do some small things to help anyone, anywhere we can all make a difference in the world. I hope that someone is reading this that resolves to go to Uzbekistan and make a difference. Then your one comment will have started a chain of events that helps many!

    Eric

  • yeah, i understand what are you talking about! Belarus is a really good place except this tragedy in Ukraine (Chernobyl)! Btw what city you were in Belarus?!

  • We work mostly in the Mogilev Region and most specifically in Chausy.

  • we like handshake :) if you liked out country come back any time ;D u're always welcome

  • I don't know of any country were a simple hello and hand shake isn't a normal custom greeting!?

  • I agree, however in Belarus the handshake seems very important, unlike in North America where a simple good morning will suffice.

    Thanks for watching,

    Eric

  • Not only belarus, Its all former Soviet or Iron Curtain countries like Czech Republic, Latvia, Poland etc it's not normal if you don't shake other persons hand

  • and Russia, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kirghistan and etc

  • Handshake is not only in Belarus important but In all Slavic Countries it shows Connection and Peace

  • Well not just in Belarus the handshake is important part of greeting it's everywhere (I mean the countries of Soviet Union such as Russia, Moldova, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and etc)

  • you are right even japanese avoid any physical contact when they said hello but they said said hello :)

  • deep down people are really the same everywhere.

  • It not on long, indemnification should proceed from the native state, and to it never was affairs to the citizens. Children to tears it is a pity... An echo th always...

  • wow, I had no idea this program existed. It made me really proud to be Canadian to see how involved we got in helping those kids. Awesome!

  • Why are you all wondering about the exact number of years... This part of the planet is dead. dead for 700 years, 25,00 years, 400,000,000 years. no difference this part of the planet is dead. FOREVER.

  • in next 500 years whole earth will be dead if we keep destroyng it like that

  • lol closer to like 15.

  • Actually you will be able to live in Pripyat in the next 60-200 years, you can live on the same site the nuclear reactor blew up ( rector 4 ) in 20,000 years.

  • i dont think we should touch anythin at or near chernobyl, too much history in that place

  • over 25,000 years

  • Can somebody tell me if Chernobyl wil ever be restored?Or what will happen next?I heard that they will make a new buildind to cover the reactor!

  • the radiation in the area is too high to rebuild. The concrete sarcophagus is eroding from the radiation and mother nature. An upgrade is being made to put over the current sarcophagus. The amount of time needed for half of the radiation to clear is well over 400,000,000 years. My prediction is Armageddon will have come and gone before then

  • 400mil years sounds a little too much man.... i doubt it will take that long. 1000 years at most.

  • People will be able to come back to their homes in the City of Pripjat/Chernobyl 4 about 600-700 years

  • yeah but i dont think so lol because my prediction is that we wont be here after 600 years lol, look at all the problems in the world and add them together, dont just look at one thing.

  • They wont be able to anyway, City is in too much disrepair. Its gonna be dust in the next 100 years

  • now chernobyl is a ghost city.

    cero population

  • It will, but not in our lifetime its going to take hundreds of years for all the radiation to go away

  • are in chernobly still people? living there?

  • no. Its too dangerous. i think

  • oh nvm

  • Yes, Toxicbuz. There are about 100/200 people living in Chernobyl. Illegaly I belive. Mostly elders.

  • nope

  • must have been a saddening experience to go out there to see what people live like and it's the twentith century

  • Oh man, this is amazing.

    God bless your souls!

  • This is brilliant. With all the homeless children in Russia and Belarus, a place like this is badly needed. This is one of the few problems that can be cured with money. As long as you have dedicated people running the place, the money will be well-spent.

  • good work people

  • WOw dude,you are great!

  • this is amazing.... you are awesome...

how can i help these kids like you have???

  • You're great.

  • The house reminds me of my grandparents' house in a russian village. No running water, broken stove, pechka. Too sad to see people still living in these conditions in 21st century.

  • W00T Canada FTW!

  • Great work Canadian aid for Chernobyl, im not suprised Vitaly is proud by the orphanage he runs with his staff, im just about alcoholic and referred for detox and have limited access to my 3 year old son, I adore him and work evrey day with children with special needs I am proud of my work. Another inspiring video on youtube thanks for posting

  • my bro was at a pool you can see that to in cod 4 he let me saw some pics it was scary

and good vid anywasy dude keep on the good work

  • just amazeing realy amazeing ....proud of the canadians realy proud

  • Good work, from great peoples !

  • I know how they feel there in Charnobyl, durning the explosion I was about 5 on vacation in Bulgaria by Black Sea, eaven that it was soo far away it affected me, extreme weekness I was sleeping in a camping tent for 2 days nonestop just waking up for about an hour every 8 or so hours and drinking milk only didnt want to eat or drink anything else, not a pleasent expirience, about 2 weeks later went back to Whitestock Poland and I didnt notice any sideffects there afer coming back.

  • Mag God jullie bijstaan voor al het goeie werk!!!

As i in Dutch words said May God be with you for al the good work!!!

  • lol ook belg? :)

  • i hate my government... Canadians, people from over 3000 miles away from belarus are helping those kids, and the very government of Belarsu didnt manage to fucking change the old soviet toilets!!! Spasibo ogromnoe za pomosh'!

  • So proud of Canada now for helping the kids.

  • they done a great job for themm all at least they all got something to live for

  • This is what we can do when we work together-There is enough warring and profiteering from war and exploitation. This is what we are to do, not bombast each other with bombs. Water, wind, and solar can serve our energy needs. We could put windmills offshore and have all the power we need-Do not believe the deceptions spun to enslave and harm. Know the truth and live it with actions that support life not death and the death culture

  • He is a good Director is very awesome to watch

  • Good job

  • Not too often I see things that makes me happy but this did! More people should realize that what they see as trivial, even boring, is pure luxury to others..

  • Picture like in for example 4:13-4:15 you can watch today in another Soviet country too> In country like Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Belarus, Ucraine, ando many many more.

  • yeh i live in lithuania and our shool toilets are just like that or even worse.

  • You rock ! God Bless You.

  • This is a very noble cause are you a member of the Canadian Aid for Chernobyl? if so kudos to you sir

  • Yes, actually I am on the board of directors. All it takes is a little first hand experience and the next thing you know you get elected! ;) It is a great cause and I really enjoy every aspect of it. Thanks for your comment.

    Eric

  • the man at the head of the table at the very end of the video looks exactly like one of the chernobyl plant workers who survived, who i saw in a documentary. am i just seeing things?

  • Thanks for watching. Of the 2 men at the head of the table, the one on the left is from Canada and the one on the right is the Director of the Orphanage. He would have been a young boy when the disaster happened.

    Eric

  • Great job, And a nice voice to listen to
