Ive made an ordinary guitar from scratch as I said below... but in our group Im making a bass for my bandmate. Why spend £150 for a bass when I can make one for £30?
Bass building is addicting, for sure. I'm guessing dude has made atleast one other. The first build usually always sucks (like mine) which leads you to make another, and another....
this is great. I am currently making a bass guitar for the first time. Ive made plenty of guitars but never a bass. did you design the bass body yourself, or did you buy plans for it?
I built my own bass about 18 ago. I made the 3 piece body from a central core of mahogany and used American white ash for the two sides. Using my Jazz bass body as a template, but changed some shape details. I bought all the other parts, neck, pickups, tuners, bridge etc for it though. It was my main bass for quite a few years. I enjoyed making it even though there are a few minor flaws with it. Good luck with the completion of your bass. Put a video up so we can hear what it sounds like too.
I'm currently doing this project at school, What I want to know is does the gorilla glue have any advantages over like tb2 or 3? or any other wood glue for that matter....
Sooo....what happened with this?

I'm going to make a bass soon, and I was wondering how much it costs. (pick-ups, bridge, tuning knobs, etc...)

my friend is using everything from his $100 rogue bass...... he used the shape of his bass to make the new bass, but he modified it
