  • just bought a lightly moded GTP. awesome performance, great handling, and good mileage for the performance of the car. my other performance car is a 1989 camaro RS with a 350 swap and it DOES NOT get good gas mileage. at $4 per gallon i need something cheap and was still good fun to drive. the GTP fits the bill.

  • Eh good commercial, not so great car. I have an 04 gt and it's really not that great. I like how it looks but that's about it.

  • @ttsfa1 thats cus you have a GT.... if you had a GTP Comp-G (the one shown in the commercial) you would think otherwise. =D

  • Go to yahoo and look at the new 2012 Pontiac G8

  • If y'all say pontiac copys others cars y'all was right but know that Chevys Copied cars to like the Chevy Malibu copied from the Saturn aura

  • @horatioj100 Saturn Aura is a branch of gm and coincidentally shared body chasis platform with the pontiac G6 as well. GM is not about copying but much more diverse for different types of drivers. The re-designed W body was first put to work on the Grand Prix GTP in 1997 to be shared with vehicles like Monte Carlo, Impala, Regal, Century, and Intrigue. With a common share of powertrain which is all for the better to have a comfortable, reliable, and most important to one's personal liking.

  • Oh Pontiac, I miss you.... :'(

  • thats one hot blind chick!!!! jizz!!!!

  • good commercial, my first car happened to be a pontiac...

man, lots of memories, I hope they bring pontiac back, it's not like if it was like oldsmobile, at least pontiac had cars that looked different from other gm cars. Anyways, what is the instrumental to this song, anyone???

  • The GT letters on my Pontiac stand for "Gets Tickets". I like mine.

  • @nukedude i know what u mean

  • the ride of this car is the legendary GM magic...

  • Pontiac died because their cars lacked originality. The Trans Am and Firebird, from the 70s on, where camaros with a different body. Same with their bread and butter cars. And if GM isn't careful, the same thing is going to happen to some of their other holdings, as well. Looking at YOU, Chevy.

  • @KevinKohler1 i agree with that, i have a 92 firebird, but im in the process of throwing a big pontiac V8 in it, no more dressed up chevy motor xD

  • I took my 2001 grand prix out into the hills with nice long curvy roads and the car just felt like it was in its home taking curves and not even needing full throttle to get up to comfortable speeds throughout. Truely is fun to drive

  • Great commercial

  • What song is that?????

  • @Ihitaparkedcar It's not a real song sadly. It was made for this commercial.

  • I thought Pontiac was the only GM badge left with proper design character. Even in the 70s when american cars virtually looked all the same Pontiacs were different, original. Look at the ranges, then. Saturn range was pathetic, Pontiac range when the brand was discontinued was very good IMO. I think if they had to shut one badge, it had to be Buick. Just because Cadillac lower range will do. No more sporty badge now. And very slow rebadged Opel Insignias instead

  • Very touching commercial. I don't feel like many companies do that with ads anymore.

Does anyone know the name of the track? Or is it a GM special?

  • Im gona get years from now when I grow up and my son ask me what was the first car you ever had I can show him this

  • I have an 06 Grand prix and love it!! the 3.8L V6 is one of the peppiest V6s out there

  • Here's another Grand Prix Commercial

    /watch?v=bhZlqHoDtFY

Thumbs up so others can see

  • I. Love. This. Commercial. You don't need words to describe a car like this one, as this video shows. Just watching it sends shivers down my spine. I hope to one day have my current Competition Group Grand Prix at a location like this.... Where I can drive freely with no restrictions..... Beautiful.

  • i cant stop watching this

  • Grand Prix 4 life

  • I bought an 06' GP base model 4 years ago and liked it so much that when I saw a black 06' GT supercharged model with 48000 km on it 2 months ago I knew I had to have it... Love it. I raced a 2008 Charger RT and kicked it's ass!! Long live the GP.

  • I love my 06 GP

Guys anybody know how to turn off the traction control?, I wanna do a burnout.

  • @The1FastGP There is a traction control button on the console.

  • @westcoaster2009 Is it in the Personal programmin mode? or is it a button?

  • @The1FastGP Its a button on the console that says TC.

  • @westcoaster2009 There is no button in my car that says that. i searched thouroghly it is not there

  • @The1FastGP some GPs dont have traction control, mine doesnt

  • @CodyLee6969 Ive tried doing a burnout, but the wheels refuse to burn.

  • @The1FastGP what year is yours? and is it the base or what?

  • @CodyLee6969 06 and yes shes a base. Fast as fuck though, havent lost at all.

  • @The1FastGP i have a 2008 base model, its crimson red and i love the car. have you done anything to yours?

  • @CodyLee6969 Silver.

    Performance: K&N 57 CAI

    Exterior: White Optix Neon

Thats about it, i have future mods but i need a job to complete Stage 1.

I love my car too, id reccomend getting the K&N, its awesome. The sound is sexy and the 17hp is a great bonus. Scares ppl too, lol pedestrians and one driver. You?

  • @The1FastGP i have the K&N air intake and i took out the honeycomb insert in the mass air flow sensor.. i love the remote start it makes people look at it like wtf? im trying to find a supercharger for it and some decent exhaust but first i need to call the insurance company and get some dents fixed people seem to love to back or run into my car in parking lots when im inside

  • @CodyLee6969 The Eaton M90 Gen 5 SC is a popular supercharger for 3.8's. I plan on getting one. I plan to mod it to ZZP specs that i saw in a Pontiac mag. Yeah my car aint perfect either, it has road wear on the front bumper and lil scratches in various parts of it. I need to tune mine before i start modding it again.

  • @The1FastGP after i file an insurance claim since people seem to love running into me im gonna start putting parts into mine

  • @The1FastGP and i would go for the twin screw Whipple supercharger instead of a Eaton

  • @CodyLee6969 Cool, whichever gets me into the 500+hp range ill adopt it.

  • @The1FastGP idk what kind of exhaust i want, maybe borla or something, nothing obnoxious cause it wont match the car i want something thatll sound good and isnt too loud, i had borla on my charger b4 i totaled it

  • @The1FastGP I personally like loud but not obnoxious. I going with a dual Flowmaster setup. Im only gonna put on the mufflers, not a complete exhaust system. Much cheaper and quicker.

  • @The1FastGP loud is good on the right cars but it wouldnt fit the car

  • @CodyLee6969 I want my prey to hear my car roar right before i swallow them alive :)

  • Gotta luv your Pontiac!

  • the person who disliked this obviously hasnt drove a grand prix

  • always will be with GM, but without pontiac it's not the same, missing the connection when you get behind the wheel of a pontiac, it's not the same getting a new magazine each month and pontiac isnt in there anymore, i cant give up my grand prix now, once its weak then its time for restoration. Pontiac R.I.P.

  • @alexeddy79 I have a 97 GrandPrix GTP (supercharged 3.8L) and that car will never leave... chances are, I'll run the mileage high, put it in the garage and break her down and bring her back up for another 200K of burnouts, hard corners, the occasional quick "get away", and the knowledge your car is still faster then all your friends. Long live the Chief

  • @Louie1462 the same way i feel about my 99' gp gt

  • Every pontiac has a heart and soul all its own. My friends dont understand why i love my car and they just cant understand theyve never driven such a machine. The muscle car soul lives on in the beating heart of every pontiac until the last one is destroyed may that day never come.

  • how does the car still look like its just washed lol

  • I don't know the name of it, but I have the audio. For a while, Pontiac was letting people download it off of their website. If you want it, I might actually be able to mail it to u. - Best

  • I feel like GM dropping Pontiac was a mistake. IMO Pontiacs were about performance, style, and handling. It's almost like we've lost touch in what it's like to really enjoy driving. It seems like these days all most people care about is basic transportation that gets good gas mileage. Yeah Chevy has the Corvette and now the Camaro but with GM's Performance Division now gone, they've dropped all the SS models except for the Camaro. Where's the love GM?

  • @Nitestar04 it died w/ a government loan, a lack of passion, a poor sense of business vs customer needs, wants, and a costly union sucking them dry. Agreed, Pontiac's demise was a choice that has left me with little recompense. I do not see myself purchasing a post 2009 GM vehicle. Some men are Baptist, others Catholic; my father was a Pontiac man. Long live the Chief!

  • @Nitestar04 that is so effing true

  • @Nitestar04 you`re nostalgicaly wrong. the cars aren`t made for love. the cars are made for money, for business... and GM hadn`t great income for pontiac.

oldsmobile..pontiac...hummer...mercury...plymonth... all closed because the europeans and japanese cars were better choice for most of the people....

    sad, but true

  • @Nitestar04 Indeed... if we were talking about Pontiac 10 years ago.

Look at it's final days: other than the G8 and Solstice, all the models were either crappy captive imports (Vibe and G3) or boring Chevy clones (Torrent, G5, and G6). Other than losing the Solstice/Sky (which should have been renamed instead of just being axed), killing it off wasn't much of a loss.

And before anyone says anything, I'm allowed to say this: I drive a Grand Prix 6 SE. It's reliable, but hardly fun to drive.

  • @TBustah who buys a base model pontiac?

  • @killdac Parents who want their son to have something "safe" (read: mundane and totally unmodifiable), that's who. I didn't pick it out. XD

Like I said, it's reliable, but not exactly a speed machine. I may end up dropping in a junkyard 3.8, the GT version's engine, someday.

  • @killdac oops i did lol, well when i test drove my grand prix i LOVED it (still do) its so smooth and the 3.8l V6 has so much grunt and i love the red glow of pontiacs interior but if id know the gt had a supercharger i would have overlooked the base model, and still base model pontiacs are still way better then other car brands base cars

  • @TBustah i drive a 97 gtp and its Pontiac excitement. the GTP, GTX, and comp G supercharged models are nothing to joke about.

  • @ad356 I'm not sure which of my comments that's a reply to, but I wasn't belittling those models.

I was talking about my own 2003 SE, with the mediocre 3.1L.

  • @Nitestar04 i miss it, im gonna hold on to my 2000 grand prix gtp coupe, the supercharged version

  • @Nitestar04 Yes but you have to look at the big picture, Pontiac was very unreliable. I own a 05' G6 GT and i've had the transmission replaced, steering column replaced twice, stereo replaced, got a leaking sunroof GM now refuses to fix, faulty key fob, and horrible brake rotors that tend to warp. Dont get me wrong Pontiac is great I love them, but they went out of business because it cost GM too much money.

  • @adiosk8r91 being unreilable dosent make it completly worthless you should be buying a car for more than just reilibility you should be buying it for what gives you emothions what makes you feel special thats why most people bought pontiacs because the way they made them feel screaming chikens!

  • @killdac Doesnt matter, Pontiac being unreliable had its consequences, if thousands of their cars have recalls then that cost GM millions of dollars, that just was costing GM too much money. Sure people bought Pontiac's for their styling, but doesnt mean they performed better than Chevy. For example, look at the Pontiac G6, sure its got styling but underneath its just a Chevy Malibu, same powertrain and chassis. I am not trying to argue im just saying Pontiac DID in fact cost GM alot of money.

  • @adiosk8r91 all the recalls ou are speaking of were also in buick and chevolets too and it wasn't like it was pulling the company down it was the american people who destroyed gm. doesnt matter it is what it is now lol

  • @Nitestar04 Yup... they are taking away the poor man's pleasures. Cheap liquor (price-wise, not cheap quality), cheap gas, and cheap cars that have some balls. Sure the Grand Prix wasn't exactly a muscle car but it is one in a line of gutsy cars that were affordable... Screw the big men driving there BMW's and Corvettes... What about the working man?

  • @blah1752 ya but the grand prix GTP and GXP were not that cheep. the base price was 30k+ for the GTP and GXP. you can get a used corvette for that price. I got my 04 Grand Prix GTP for 9,500 at Carmax with 49k on it. i looked at the computer to see what it was new with all my options since my is a loaded one, the guy payed 32,000 new for it and now im here laughing enjoying his depreciation. =D

  • Grand Prix FTW!

  • GRAND PRIX FOR EVER

  • who owns the rights to the song?

  • It is stil so surreal that GM did away with Pontiac. Why in the world they would come out with all of these new designs, then turn around and scrap Pontiac is beyond me. Come on GM! Bring Back PONTIAC!!!!

  • GM should have gotten rid of GMC... I mean its the same exact line as chevy But with different names. EX. Silverado=Seirra. Tahoe=Yukon. Colorado=Canyon. All the above listed are examples there are the same exact vehicles but with a different names. While Pontiac had its own designs that they created instead of copying them.

  • gmc built a lot of commercial products that chevy didnt thats one reason that happened im bumbed that pontiacs gone to but wat can you do that life

  • And also i was really liking that pontiac was bringing over The G8 it was an amazing creation imported from the land of down under. I was thinking of it as finally there is a 4 sedan that is fun to drive( not saying that it is the only 1)

  • @Roflcopterv1 that not 100% true... Pontiac had its fair share of copies. For Example, Sunfire= Cavalier, GrandPrix= Impala, Firebird= Camaro, Torrent= Equinox.

  • hey guys I own a 2006 pontiac grand prix base model, got it really cheap, so far im loving it, but i do want a little more power. Any suggestions on how to go about that without breaking the bank?

  • If you would have gone with the 3800 supercharged motor, it would have been as simple as putting a smaller pulley on your supercharger...and perhaps some other supporting mods like a less restrictive intake and exhaust would help.

  • so I'm guessing nothing can be done then huh?

  • Well, like any car, there's always SOME things that can be done, but I can't guarantee cost Vs performance satisfaction, but if you're really into customization, I say go with the mods. If you're talking about cost...I'd say consider selling your base model GP for a Grand Prix GXP with the LS4 motor(5.3L V8) or go with the Grand Prix GTP/GTP Comp G(3800 supercharged). If you want to keep your GP you have and want to mod it I recommend checking out pfyc (dot) com.

  • ok I'll check that out. thanks dude.

  • Yup!

However a Grand Prix is a typical practical family sedan. If you're truly looking for high performance that's still affordable, consider the 2004 GTO(350HP) or 05-06(400HP), or look at 1998-2002 LS1 Camaros and Trans Ams...but if you have an even bigger wallet...then you've got the Corvette...etc...

  • yea, the truth is I kinda got that car because I got it for a really good price, and I wanted a sedan, because of my family. but now I wish I could've paid a bit more for at least a GT. but even then I dont think I would've afford it.

  • Yeah. Well I'm 19, almost 20. So I don't have a family...and don't plan on it for some time now, but I'm sure if I did have a family...I'd kill for the new Pontiac G8... I start school next month to become an ASE Certified Automotive Technician. I currently drive a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am GT1 coupe. The GT's have really nice handling, but only 175HP. Looking at a 2000 GP GTP Daytona 500 coupe next though. Should be pretty nice. Check out my video of my Grand Am and what I've done to it if you want

  • I am proud owner of 05 GP GTP Comp G! Not a lot changed on the 05 model other than different rear suspension components and a Comp G badge on the two front doors! The 3800 Supercharged is one of the best engines GM built! Despite the car being made in Canada (The hell with Canada)! Its nice to know the engine came out of Buick City in Flint, MI and my home state! Maybe if GM would build more cars with America and MI roots they wouldn't be where they are now! We can all thank Rodger Smith!

  • 05gxp1 i totally agree

  • Buick, Chev, Caddy, and GMC have a better world wide appeal than Pontiac.

Now, I own a 2004 GP GT2 and a 1999 GTP and i love the cars but the technology(even in the 2009 models) is severely dated.

I look forward to the new Buick Regal with the 2.0 Turbo Engine... this car is going to fit into the former Pontiac G6 segment.

  • GM is stupid for getting rid of pontiac because they were nice cars and they sold lots of them and they are better looking than buick.

  • RIP Pontiac...the last Pontiac rolled out Nov. 25 at 12:45pm. May Pontiac live forever!!!

  • Why did GM do this? They could have gotten rid of Buick or stupid ass Saturn.

  • Well GM did for Saturn. Satrun is claimed dead now. If you look at the newes tMoto Trend. In "The Trend" Section (Page 20), it is claimed to be. But agreed, GM should of kept Pontiac for the better.

  • well said. pontiac will be back!!!

  • When you get into a Pontiac; the car comes alive. It speaks to you as you start it up. It screams excitement. The only ones to understand are the ones who've owned a Pontiac. Thanks Pontiac.....R.I.P.

  • You said it the best way for the Brand no one else would have the passion to say. Pontiac did so much I could not see any other Car brand do for itself. It long lives a legacy of it's own. Pontiac forever.

  • I love Pontiac. Thanks for all the fun! R.I.P.

  • Pontiac will be back. But not this car. Torque steer killed this car.

  • Nothing can beat the feedback of my grand prix. It truly is a driver's car.

  • R.I.P. Pontiac! This was an awesome commercial! 0:51. Love this commercial!

  • I own a /07 Pontiac Grand Prix GT, Special Edition, supercharged engine. Very proud to drive this Black Beauty. It's a real treat to climb behind the wheel. Too bad they stopped making them

  • what is the name of this song? ? RIP Pontiac...=(

  • no clue but if you find it let me know

  • agreed

  • This commercial defines for me what my love of cars and driving is all about. The feel of the grip of the tires, right before they lose the road...the feel of the wheel, just a little sweat under your palms...the sound of the motor roaring on the exit of a turn, pressing your head back and to the side. And always, the next 400 yards ahead of you...the horizon...that which can't be caught. Everyone should know this once before they die.

  • You have my vote and agreement. How you stated it is so true. How Pontiac made this is for you to relize whatever car you drive. You have the passion to stick with it. these days I see myself more blessed to get behind and ride and just drive. So Kudos to you for sure.

  • @melchior808 I love this comment. Right on brotha

  • Wow! Great commercial! RIP Pontiac!

  • I have always been a monte carlo guy until i bought my 2004 pontiac grand pricx gtp comp g the best american car i have ever owned

  • I have 07 grand prix (wht) I love it..!

  • anyone know the music?

  • I'm also a proud owner of a Grand Prix GT2. The excitement will stay forever. Hope to see the comeback of Pontiac - an American icon.

  • As a proud owner of a trouble-free 08 Grand Prix. This is my FAVORITE. Thanx for uploading this great commercial. I LOVE my GP, and I wouldn't trade for anything. Bye Bye GM, but my GP will be here forever. And Pontiac will be living in my heart FOREVER!!!!

  • Right there with you. We've had my Grand Prix in the family since '97. 148,000 trouble free miles. Great cars, great company. GM + Pontiac = <3

  • thanks for uploading this! i've been tryin to find it for so long! =)

  • nice one, i have an 08 grand prix, kind of dark grey metallic, great car

  • this is AWSOME!

We had an '04 that was waked out and it was awsome but we had a few problems with it(transmission, few other smaller things) and gm was a bitch to deal with when we didn't quote-on-quote "get the transmission repaired at a certified gm dealer." we traded it in for an '07 Equniox but i still really miss the grand prix

    :(

  • great

  • Please tell me the name of this song!!!

    Thanks

  • The song was made specifically for the commercial by Chemistri Ad Agency. The commercial is officially called Guy/Girl.

However, the LA-based music group Timonium uses it (or the other way round) in their song Populations from the album Until He Finds Us. The song is slowed down and lyrics are added.

  • I should point out, Chemistri is now called Leo Burnett.

  • @clint454 i have the song if you want it, let me know. ....pontiac was letting people download it form their website some years back.

  • @clint454 "Thank you for contacting the Pontiac Customer Assistance Center. We

appreciate you taking the time to write us in regards to the music that

is used in the "Fuel for the Soul" advertisements.

The musical selections in our commercials are often written exclusively

for the commercial. Then they are recorded by studio musicians as

30-second time spots. The music remains untitled and is not available for

    public sale."

This is the Pontiac Company response when asked what the song is.
