I would love to see Colin and Sting do something together. I bet they could write some incredible stuff. Not that they aren't already in their own rights but together.......... I am in awe at both artists respectively.
@wormwoodacoustic Funny you mention that. Columbia Records signed on Colin back in the 80's because they were looking for that "Sting" sound. He mentioned Sting at one of his shows and called him a fuc*er. I think he was joking though.
Colin, thanks for that great song. I wanted to see you in Cave Creek but it was sold out. When you come back I will be in the front table. I saw MAW at the Stanley Theatre in Pittsburgh , it was really great!
I saw him do this in concert last month, in his comments before the song he essentially said this song is his way of preparing for the loss of his parents. I was sobbing though it, such a devastating song when you know the story behind it.
The song is called "Water Over You." Its about his father. He said that he used to watch those old westerns where they throw a bucket of water on people to wake them up as a kid. He said he father used to take him and his brother and sister into the woods to play hide and seek and that his father would sometimes fall asleep under a tree. Colin said they'd pretend to throw water on him and say, "You have to wake up. We threw water over you."
He did this and 4 or 5 other songs from the new CD at Sellersville. Great stuff. I wonder if the CD is acoustic or full band. The songs sounded fantastic acoustic so I am hoping for that.
