The last time I rode a bus, it looked like an airplane on the inside. It had seat belts and electric sockets for plugging in and charging devices. The restrooms DEFINITELY need to be bigger, however. Most americans right now, would not be able to squeeze thru the tiny door, or sit comfortably on the tiny toilet seat.
The area destined for the driver is too short, thus it cannot bear the load of mass that comes "behind". A very mistake of project. There is no minimum chance left for the driver.
It's sad that these buses are made so cheaply and unsafe. I drive a J model bus frequently and to know this is how safe they are. Yes I know that I probally wont be driving into a concrete wall but common, a Ford Focus looks safer in a crash than this.
@MrMaypole14 The coaches doesn't need seat belts.... because the way its design! The seat belts would be good only for a roll over which is very rare!
It's called the speed limit in the POV lanes (POV carpool lanes in Ontario) the crazy bastard in the van pulled put on the lanes suddenly i had to time to act because I smashed my head into the fucking steering column.
Over the summers I drive a mci j4500 for Canada coach and I had an asshole in big ford box van cut me off. I slammed on the brake but it was too late I crashed in to the back of the van causing the windscreen to smash in my face and the back of the truck was totally demolished. My coach had hit it at 120 mph and the scars on my face and the plate in my head tell the story. I still drive a coach in the summer.
So if this was an MCI MC9 or MCI102A3, do you think the results would be better or worse? I know the MC9's were stainless steel vs the fiberglass todays coach buses. Not sure what the 102A3's were.
@gsm19911 the shell's primarily steel. when busses burn, the metal shell still stands. if it was all fiberglass, bare frame, melted plastic, and whats left of the engine would be left..
driver instant death from being crushed, first few passengers are dead. they may say the seats near the bathroom are stinky but they're getting out of this in one peice lol
@roberteg6 This would never happen this way on a bus made in Brazil. Our buses may look simpler than the American buses, but our buses can better resist such an impact like that.
@CatFuzz71 LOL I guess you're right, MCI moved it's headquarters from Winnipeg Manitoba to Schaumburg Illinois in 1996, but MCI doesn't manufacture any buses in Illinois, it still makes a lot it's buses in Winnipeg. Kind of like Boeing moving it's headquarters from Everett Washington to Chicago Illinois, but doesn't make any planes in Chicago, Boeing still makes most of it's planes in Everett.
@rowmacusa You are correct. They don't make buses in Illinois. They make them in North Dakota AND Winnipeg. The company is considered American though. They probably have two manufacturing facilities so they don't have to deal with import/export hassles. Buses built in Canada stay there. Buses built in US stay here.
@beboybo, well, maybe one of these days I'll find the time to accurately increase the ultra slow-mo frame capture rate to the original ultra-fast frame rate capture mod. Thanks for the idea as that should be very interesting.
well this prove how danger buses could be over Trains, cars, and other land vehicle because there no seatbelts and the driver is on the very edge of the front.
