so all it took to verify the theory that was probably also in textbooks was to look through the right lens (i figure that's pretty old knowledge) and it took until 2008 for at least someone in the world to do that??? omg :(

That's what I was hoping they'd add for many years now, make vehicles automated on the roads by laying something down the vehicles can use to retrieve, compare, and calculate positioning information so vehicles can move along the roads using that information. Like GPS, and to overcome the problems associated with relative programming and GPS/signal accuracy.
It never fails to amaze me at the sheer ignorance and intolerance that people have towards others. Even with the contribution that the Scots have made towards science and engineering, there are still some moronic comments.
They mention in the article linked to on the original New Scientist spore shooting vid that there were four species studied but didn't give any specie names, so I googled around a little and found sphaerobolus stellatus. It's been known about by scientists for quite some time, but granted they didn't have the ability to measure it's potential until now.

ToxicRainDrop 3 years ago
HOLY FUCK your spelling is ANNOYING, too.
It's "pronounced," not pronouned. And "Damn," not damn. Heh, I guess you're just using incorrect words instead of misspelling them.
Man, grow a brain, and then you can have an opinion.
