  • This is probably one of the silliest things I've seen in quite a while.

  • Yes! Mildly amusing..................Back then

  • I quite Lee Nelson, he's comedy is smart if you ask me.

  • I always do a dance like that when the fridge door opens and the light comes on! :D

  • I heard some famous guy had chosen his most favourite comedy doubles a few weeks ago.

He put Morcambe and wise TENTH!

First place was a two people who arent even funny.

My advice - Stay away from him.

  • @anonuk

Yes a very valid point! I retract my previous comment

  • Morecambe and Wise are very funny...to people who have a blue rinse and a walking stick. It's based on 1940's music hall entertainment. It's about as funny now as watching footage of the Japan tsunami. Not funny at all.

  • @takeuchi40

Yes, it was made for the era, and they certainly developed their act at a time when Tommy Handley and Arthur Askey were the major comedians (as opposed to modern comedy, which essentially began with the Goons). However, they did progress comedy- they changed and updated the music hall tradition radically for the TV and brought onboard both pop music and slightly 'blue' comedy. They were really transitional rather than traditional comedians.

  • @anonUK - I have a lot of admiration for them as people. Their success was incredible. But people saying they were comic genius and saying 'that's the funniest thing I've ever seen'. I just don't get it. I love comedians, even the old ones like to Goons, Monty Python and the two Ronnies but I've never been humoured by Morecambe & Wise. Each to his own I suppose.

  • This is one of my most favourite sketches of all time and certainly the top M and W sketch! :)

  • @ketrinweb Could not agree more, the last bit was what made me laugh the most!

It's amazing I mean how simple they made their sketches, but pure genius as well ahhh I am glad I am now really liking what they did, I am 30 by the way haha, great comedy proud now to be a fan of them.

  • 100% ace

  • meanwhile at valve

  • Sorry for coming across confrontational, it's just i don't understand if you don't like them, even after watching it, do you feel the need to post negatively or even watch more! lol

  • P S. I guess it goes back to the 70s as a kid, when I wanted to watch Monty Python but my parents made me watch Morecambe and Wise instead. No hard feelings.

  • P S. Do you never remind yourself you disagree, or are you so stuck in your mental box that you can never move or expand, or do you even know what I am talking about. ?

  • I have posted comments on Youtube about lots of things, what of it ?

  • Because people keep banging on about how fantastic they were and I wanted to remind myself why I disagree. I don't "watch it now".

  • @MrJuno6 Remind yourself you disagree? Did you suffer amnesia? i have seen that you have posted comments on other Morecombe and Wise videos. If you don't like them, don't watch them, simple as

  • P S. The two Ronnies for example where in a different class to Morecambe and Wise, in my opinion.

  • @MrJuno6

Ronnie Barker could write and perform comedy which ranks alongside the greatest any British comedian ever produced, it's just that sometimes he liked to perform absolute shite as a change. Sometimes, he even wrote rubbish, just so he could be in it.

  • @PM793. Because I did think it was funny when I was about 10, simple pantomime level humour at best.

  • @MrJuno6 Then if you don't like it now, why watch it now?

  • Vic and bod aren't frauds, they just got there influences from m&w, and although British / American comedy seems to put out some crap we still produce some greats for me league of gents for example.. There was plenty of crap produced back then also, it's just that we tend to remember the greats..

  • @ravenlek

Vic and Bob subvert the music hall/ working men's club/ end of pier tradition- there's a lot of Python in there for a start, as well as more modern influences.

TBH, Morecambe and Wise did a lot with mainstream TV comedy that made a crossover with more 'adventurous' comedy possible.

  • I've never thought this was all that funny, just stupid. I guess that makes me the 29th idiot who think that Morecambe and Wise are the most overrated comedy act of all time.

  • @MrJuno6 why watch it then?

P.S. They were, and still are, hilarious

  • That's funny. I like the breakfast sketch in Morecambe and wise.

  • 28 people are just not morning people.

  • I wish I could do that every morning.

  • Don't get it?!

  • 26 people are stupid.

  • the golden age of comedy british or american is past all we ever get these days is crap. i would not complain about paying the t.v license if we could have repeats of benny hill, dave allen, morcombe and wise, the two ronnies, dick emery and the dean martin show and a few of the other american shows, they knew how to do comedy in those days, bring em i say.

  • this makes vic and bob seem like frauds to me even though shooting stars is genius as well

  • 26 french people looked at this video

  • Gold.

  • The best comedy sketch ever made in my opinion.

  • Odenetheus. Get a LIFE! Maybe on Mars, or whatever planet you orginated from. This is grade ONE+ comedy!

  • This is quite possibly the dullest comedy I have ever seen. Oh well. Each to their own, and all that.

  • Who the hell could dislike this? Its brilliant. Wish my breakfasts were as good as this.

  • oh so they are morecambe and wise :D

  • Simply brilliant, this would be funny even if you didn't speak english

  • They didn't close the fridge, now the butters gonna melt and the milk will go lumpy.

  • I think Jerry Lewis does this sort of thing better.

  • Legendary.

  • From Morecambe and Wise and The 2 Ronnies to Lee Nelson and Jack Whitehall.

    Tragic.

  • @CapitalBhoy78 Oh, thank god, I'm not the only one who wants Jack Whitehall to die in a fire

  • greatest double act EVER!!

  • Seriously, what man hasn't done something like this when alone? Genius.

  • never stop laughing at this it puts the new comics to shame

  • nothing like ant and dec there rubbish compared to morecame & wise

  • This is Ant & Dec when they're older!! Thumbs up if you agree ;) -- I absolutely love this! x

  • Wow!!

  • Truly incredible <3

  • brilliant

  • I find this really funny !!

  • they left the fridge door open... tut tut :P

  • im only 19 but i find this ssssssssssooooooo funny old comedy is the best and the way they timed it just right on here is simply amazing

  • these two are by far the best comedy duo in the history of comedy

  • Comedy gold.Wish Morecambe and Wise were still alive.

  • clearly @LambertoTheGod number 1) isn't a God and 2) does not recognise comedy genious. how many people hate you after your comment.... A LOT!!!

  • I first heard about them in an episode of The Young Ones andf decided to look them up.my God they're funny! I'll check out more. (I'm a Yank,BTW...that's why I never heard of them until recently).

  • @RichardElden Get off the internet you idiot.

  • @RichardElden Everyone can have a opinion but that is awful! Morcambe and wise were one of the greatest comedy duo ever wether you like them or not! I was never into morcambe and wise until i watched their sketch with adre previn which was hilarious! Of course someone like you wouldn't understand jokes that don't involve people dying.

    Go grow up.

  • I'm struggling to find the funny bit. This is quite possibly the most overrated sketch I have ever watched. If this is supposed to be one of the "better" sketches then I'm glad they "don't make comedy like this anymore". It's terrible!

  • He left the fridge open D:

  • @RichardElden im not going to waste much of my time replying to pathetic morons like you so i will make it short and sweet. GROW UP OR FUCK OFF. your choice but all youre doing by comenting is giving everybody else a good laught at how childish you are

  • How breakfast should be made every morning lol

  • @RichardElden What do you laugh at wank stain , burning orphanages ?

  • @RichardElden oh really, when you were the grand old age of 8. You probably didn't even know who they were then. You're such a teenager. Trying to shock with rude words and outrageous statements. You'll grow out of it eventually

  • @RichardElden I feel sorry for you. I bet you don't smile much

  • Eric and Ern They were fantastic. Bless thier cotton socks.

  • @RichardElden no they weren't, they were an amazing double act who dont deserve people like you saying things like that.

  • I've never understood why so many people find the breakfast sketch funny. It has to be the least funny 'comedy sketch' I've ever seen. The two Ronnies beat Morcambe and Wise hands down.

  • amazing quality!

  • If only George Hook and Brent Pope had never been made aware of this

  • absolute magic !!!!!

  • It's a great worry that this video has 19 dislikes - that's 19 people worldwide who have had a sense of humour by-pass...if that wasn't funny then what do those 19 laugh at , burning orphanages ?

  • @bozydastard I think the only explanation is that 19 people missed the 'like' button.

  • @bozydastard These guys where legends, wish I was around to appreciate them at the time but now I just can't stop watching them, yea I agree with your comment on every level!

  • I just love Ern beating the eggs

  • Morecambe and Wise for the win! You just don't get comedy like this anymore unfortunately.

  • Comedy Gold!

  • absolutely amazing! :) x

  • Absolutely brilliant!

  • I am speechless at how brilliant it is. I mean...wow

  • @Apalmeic5 I had no idea there were so many "lawyers" around until I discovered YouTube.

  • Ablsolute Legends

  • Morecambe and wise are comedy legends

No one will ever live up to this standard

  • PG tips stole this!

  • I wish these two legends were still around to bring us REAL British comedy. You cannot dislike these people seriously :')

  • @ThisIsEnglaaand Totally agree with you!

  • Ah they dont do comedy like this anymore...

  • Comedy gold! And one of the greatest sketches ever!

  • hahahah

  • No1 has ever managed to stand up this sketch, and never will lol. Truly classic

  • 17 dislikes! haha! sad miserable gits! this is pure comedy classic!

  • One of the very best comedy sketches ever made.

  • @NW10SJL THE best ever! :)

  • Me and my little sister are doing this for my dad's birthday tomorrow morning! He has no idea! XD

  • @KarateArdvark Ha ha good luck !

  • @KarateArdvark How did it go?

  • @KarateArdvark 'Me and my sister are doing this for my dad's birthday tomorrow! He has no idea! XD'

    How did it go?

  • still soo funny !

  • Thanks for uploading. This is one of my all time favourite comedy sketches. : )

  • The Brits are reserved, but broad and funny in comedy. The greatest comic that ever lived, was English. Bob Hope.

  • And THIS is what makes me proud to be English! 8D Absolutely marvellous, and always will be =') Thank you for posting this :)

  • @TheEnglandrats1 I would actually bother to have breakfast full stop if it was even a 1/10 as comical as this

  • Comedic genius!

  • Comment removed

  • wish this was like breakfast, luv u m&w

  • This was very much how my breakfast goes every saturday, funnily enough.

  • classic is the word,

  • Pure comedy genius.....this is exactly why a double-act such as Morecambe and Wise can never be duplicated and are always memorable no matter how many years roll by.....only wish routines of modern day had the same effect as this then the world might be a better place. R.I.P Eric and Ernie

  • Oh, what a world we live in ... of course this is racist, in the same way that Kioroa was racist. Like the police officer sketch by Fry and Laurie was racist .. do behave

  • Brilliant. From a 17 year old today. Just sensational!

  • i cant believe that there have actually been haters and dislikes on this video. eric and ernie were comedy geniuses and these sketches will be watch 4ever, or at least they should.

  • It' was simply British comedic genius!

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAH SOOOO FUNNY ...it just goes to show that you don't need to be crued to get laughs i am only 18 but to me the comedy from the old days had some of the best i really wished i was born back then

  • Oh I don't half love this!

  • Form is temporary. Class is permanent. Ergo Eric and Ern. The Stripper without an inch of it!!! Genius.

  • what song did they use for this? REPLY!!!

  • @chibinekogirl101

the stripper- Joe loss & his orchestra

  • A Timeless Classic

  • All there is to say is "A Timeless Classic"

  • 16 people don't realize these two and Terry-Thomas were the creators, I say, CREATORS of comedy! ^_^

  • How in the heck can anyone not like this? Why wasn't I born in england? I'm an american, and while I grew up loving a lot of american tV, most of my comedic influence has come from brit tv..thank you for turning me on to these guys. I just wish i'd known about them growing up, but at least now I can share them with their long time and my fellow new fans. These gentlemen were geniuses!

  • Timeless classic.

  • I've seen genius and then there is morcombe and wise

  • They had a spare five minutes to fill in the program and they came up with this...genius.

  • 16 grapefruits were offended by this sketch

  • @georgercop 17 now, stupid b*st*ards

  • 16 people have no soul.

  • Classic moment

  • lol this should be one of those berroca adverts, 'you, but on a really good day'.

Anytime i hear this tune or wake up in a particularly good mood, i always end up dancing while i make breakfast. The disco when they open the fridge is genius.

I've just remembered how much i love comedy, i have no idea how i would get by without it!

  • Look what we all have to remember is that comedy is subjective. You cant go around preaching your word about how they are soooo good and that everyone should automatically love eric and ernie. Yes i think they r great, but that is MY opinion. We should honour other peoples. You wouldnt like it if everyone told you what to find funny. So dont do it to other people

  • First time I've seen this since I saw it on TV when it went to air. Classic.

  • wow absolutley amazing i could not understand anybody who wouldn't like this

for who cant see the funny side of this really need to get a life its for all ages

as i can prove im 12 and my dad we both absolutley love it!

  • @eddyelody4 same

  • i have a bad comment to make about them it was amazingly good brilliant and epic i know not of anything better plz help me describe it better plz

  • I love Erics face just before he walks out of the room

  • LMAO this is one of the best .

  • one of the best is allways "PEANUTSS"

  • The timing with the toast is absolutely impeccable. Long live Morecambe and Wise!

  • I predict that by 2020 the Musical Full Cooked Breakfast will be a mass trend among the ever increasing numbers of unmarriagable bachelors.

  • I'm Almost 18 And I Know Eric Morecambe And Ernie Wise Are the best comedians ever, Better then Lee Evans, Michael McCintyre, John Bishop and loads of others.

  • @Flameeee2 I'm 14, been a fan of Morecambe and Wise since i was 7 or 8. Todays Comedians are nothing compared to the likes of Morecambe and Wise, The Two Ronnies and Ken Dodd.

The only modern comedian who actually makes me laugh is Michael McCintyre

  • Sorry "vkman34" but u do not know what you are talking about. They inspired a generation of comedians, and are absolute genius writers. Don't leave comments about something you know nothing about. Idiot!!

  • @mrpaddymagic Did you not read vkman's comment or are you really that stupid?

  • Hey these guys are just a ripoff of Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer! Not only that, but they had the impudence to do their TV shows 20 years before Vic n Bob started as well - the cheek of it!

  • I don't know what is wrong with some people. Is it because Eric and Ernie refrain from using bad language? Is it because they only use tongue in cheek innuendo rather than coarse sexual references? Or is it because this style of comedy is what made our grandperents laugh and we can't find it funny can we? as that would be un-cool.

Remember this was from an era when if someone made an analogy of the queen's arse being like a broken cat flap they would have been kicked to death in the street

  • This is soooooooo funny! I love them

  • Morecombe and Wise - about as funny as a punch in the gob

  • This sketch never makes me laugh out loud but it's great to watch.

  • WHAT SONG IS THISS? :)

  • @andyedwards94 The Stripper by David Rose

  • Why does everyone argue about if it's funny or not?If you do you do,if you don't you don't..each to their own..I personally love this sketch and it makes me' smile every time.

  • this is still funny, unlike most of the bollocks that is going around now.. that isnt funny now and certainly wont be in 40 years time...

  • stuff the negatives! This is one of the most BRILLIANT sketches out-

These other eegits dont know what they are talking about-

Probably were all still in their silly wombs when this great stuff came out at first-

    SIMPLE COMEDY GENIUS & TALENT!!!!!!!!!

  • 14 people have a McDonalds Big Breakfast.

  • my fave morecambe and wise clip. love it!! :o)

  • anyone know what song is in this video please?

  • @bossross999 I'm glad someone agrees with me the thing Is that isn't even my whole rant... I ran out of letter space...XDDD

  • Oh the joy of breakfast. :)

  • Seriously what is the problem with some people...it's as simple as this...if you don't like them then don't plain and simple go off and watch the things that you find funny don't watch a video of people you don't like and then insult them when you know damn well that the fans will be on here and that you will pissing them off. Morecambe and wise were one of the best duos that ever graced our screens, big and small and if you don't like them then I pity you I really do because you must be a mise

  • @lycanwichmark21 you are true i am 18 and i find these two soo funny there is some people with no sense of humor

  • why is everyone on youtube so angry and defensive? its just morecambe and wise! stop swearing.

  • One of my regrets in life is that I was born 4 months after Eric died so I missed it all. I'm just grateful that all the tapes still exist and we're still able to enjoy them. They were pure class.

  • HAHAHAHAHA BRILIANT JUST BRILIANT i am only 18 but i love loads of the old comedy my nan and her friend got me into what series is this one from

  • I love these two. Sadly I was born a little after their golden age but luckily my nan taped a lot of their performances and made sure she shared them with me. These two never fail to cheer me up.
