  • The problem is that GW will eventually shut you down. Especially if you start making actual scenes. Mostly because german copyright law makes them lose their licence on 40k if they let you make the video on your own.

Well, that's not the exact wording of it buy yeah, there is a part that says something like "if you let someone use your stuff, you must let everyone else use it from that day forward"

  • @letopizdetz He just made contact with GW, but hasn't received a response yet.

Regardless, that might be German copyright law, but this is isn't Germany. This is the internet :) They shut down Damnatus because it was made and shown in Germany and if GW had allowed it they would have forfeited their IP which they obviously couldn't do. However they could let this project here go because it's internet based and probably immensely awesome. Also he (Destraga) did make sure it's more or less

  • legal because he adheres to GWs own rules about fanmade work.Sure, it becomes GW property and all those legally dubious clauses GW has in it's IP ruling, but it's fanwork made out of passion for 40K and animation, not for profit.

Keep up the great animating and let's hope GW doesn't waste this oppertunity!

  • Beeindrucken kanns kaum erwarten mehr zu sehen

  • Wow. that is awesome! Also, I think you should leave the planet distortion-from what I know of the Immaterium it would produce effects like that

  • Aren't warp holes pink or something?

  • @Zeredek Warp holes are of the colour of the warp, wich doesnt exist in reality, so who cares :D ?

  • really awesome! I'd leave the planet's distortion- shows how immensely powerful the warp gate is- almost like a black hole, bending the light.

  • Of course, the planet does not really distort. But damn, it looks cool.

  • @CatholicSpaceNazi Either the light or the space distorts.

  • Awesome. Agree with Reclusiarch, though, I don't know about the planet distortion. Maybe just blur it out behind the portal/fade it out due to the glare from the warp opening? Good luck, btw, been keeping up w/your blog a bit, hope all goes well.
