  • whats the big deal if somebodys going to eat it. i dont see people geting upset over eating cows

  • As a vegan from one of the most legislated and 'humane' countries in the world (English farmers are losing most of their income due to the regulations they have to follow (In my opinion good rules-could be better but leading the way)so the discussting scum of our population buy the cheap extra cruelty products from europe) I disagree with the whole industry and especially in meats like horse as the live transportation, holding and slaughter are specifically horrific as is for chickens

  • @lyro2 In 'developed' countries like ours there is no need for this industry (particulary on such a massive scale as the scale is the basis for the cruelty) as we produce enough plant based products containing everything we need for a healthy diet and suppliments (non animal derived) for those with dietry issues relating to a plant based diet. I know of a few people with such severe allergies that they have no other option but to eat meat but they are very rare cases.

  • we don't eat horse meat but there are slaughter house for horses in the U.S.A. They make so much money a year and they are illegal. We saved two belgium drafts when they were only a few months old when the truck that they were being illegally transported in to a slaughter house tipped because there were too many horses in the trailer that was meant for cattle

  • This is why I'm never having kids, So I can always afford to feed my horses.

  • Don't take responsibility for another's life if you can't afford it and aren't willing to support that life for the rest of its natural life. Why not just auction your children off next, fuck.

  • @Kateaclysmic You've missed the point completely. At the time when these horse owners took responsibility for their horses they had jobs and the ability to care for them and were absolutely responsible owners. This recession created a unique circumstance that no one could have predicted. They did not know that in the future they would lose their jobs and be unable to replace it. Or that they would be unable to provide for their families and pets. Don't condemn what you don't understand.

  • @DeborahJBrown This is my fear, due to seeing this happen in the UK I have qualified and am working in a job I hate purely because I know it is as safe and stable as a job can get due to me living in fear of this happening to my horses :o

  • $600 for euthanasia??!!! BS. It costs about $300 for the sedation, the death and rendering or burial.

  • It's as bad now as last year or worse.

  • well whats the problem? horse is yummy.. people have a doublestandard there. i never saw anyone buy some animal friend buy pigs or cows from the truck that would go into a slaughterhouse. they just horses because they have no nice big eyes lol get some common sense people ^^

  • @happosai27 One argument is that horses have been companion animals, more akin to dogs or cats. They have had relationships with humans and learned to trust them, so a real betrayal to have them killed in this manner. They aren't raised as meat animals, such as some horses in France. -- Also... the method of slaughter in Mexico can be flat out cruel, such as slashing at the spinal cords. Better to have humane slaughter in the US than long distance shipping and such cruel deaths. Sad to me!

  • if i had a horse i couldnt afford to feed, id kill it and eat it.

  • zich52 - If you were my neighbor and I was hungry, I would kill you and all your family and eat you all up before I killed my horse.

  • @mobydog04

I'm eating horse jerky at the moment. How do you like me now?

  • @zich52 so funny if you want to kill you horse and eat if that's ok with me and lots of people will tell you that i have seen horses put down and it is not humane it is not fast and quick either they fight for there life

  • @mobydog04 You don't have the knowledge or technical skills to pull off a procedure like that.

  • My father is a horse dealer. He buys a lot of horses at auction. We get some REALLY skinny horses that look horrible when they get to our barn. I have to hand it to my dad though, he gives all the skinny ones extra feed. When they get good weight on they go into work and we sell them to someone who may have otherwise passed up the horse based on how it used to look.

  • @suzieq31 : If you take a mostly sound horse to auction it will be sold to a private owner over a killer any day. Their are lots of private people looking for horses at auction. Killer buyers are getting rare. You can always no-sale the horse anyway if you are worried about who its going to.

  • we saved 2 horses right off the slaughter truck we would have taken more but we dont have the space one of the horses we got is wounderful and still young so he has so much potential the other is serverly lame but he is almost better n we are starting to ride him a little bit and see what he can do its a shame so many people do this to their horses

  • Yes exactly.

  • Then you shouldn't deserve to have an animal

  • now i'm happy when i gave my horse away he went to a good home instead of there. Gives me the chills just thinking about it.

  • wow those ladys are so sweet my kind of gals this is s0 sad a hate it
