  • simply no none sense coolness!

  • Damn it, Jack, I'm trying to quit, but after this? No way I'm going without a cigarette after this.

  • Brilliant indeed...

  • Brilliant

  • I seen the cane and at first I thought it was a violin bow. Then depression set in. :(

  • My GOD this fkin rocks!

  • you can tell this man loves what he does. tru performer

  • Only jack would rock a cane while doing a guitar lick

  • Comment removed

  • Who needs porn when you have Jack's playing and Meg's boobs all in one video?

  • Does anybody know what Jack White is doing at the moment? I know he's not with the Dead Weather because the Kills are touring...so?

  • @LiveRealMusic Producing. Third Man Records, Jack's label, put out The Black Belles album.

  • @youstink14 ...ugh, just listened, i mean it's good but I want Jack White to regroup with the Dead Weather or even the Raconteurs, you think anytime soon?

  • @LiveRealMusic Well, Jack says neither band is dead, but it is just that he has a lot of different projects going on basically (on his label). music-mix.ew.com/2011/04/08/jack-white-interview-rolling-record-store/

  • Jack White is a god

  • Jack White is awesome, I love the way he experiments with new ways to get that certain sound out of a guitar.

  • Fuzzier than a polar bear under great white northern lights

  • Fuzzier than a bear.

  • Jack is freaking awesome; one of my favorites.

  • Bad-ass is most definitely correct.; a great song.

  • I'm a female non musician and think they fucking rock...I'm not the only one... ridiculous stereo type blastofo...but it may be that way from the narrow scope of the bubble you live in.

  • All you need to know is that Jack White twirls canes when he plays guitar.

  • Bad-Ass...

  • My first impulse when seeing this is "How does he not trip over the guitar cord when he flies away from the piano like that?"

That would be my primary concern...

  • @AllianceofMinds In a video while he was performining the Racontuers I believe, he trips over the guitar cord, falls on his back, and keeps playing on the floor.

  • @Awgez24 It'd be nice to see this *o*

  • @cartoonangel1 I saw it here on Youtube!

  • first i was just so confused, after hearing the album version of this song, how can jack playing a piano and fully distortion guitar in the same time in the same song, after i watch this video, i can see it now, it was just his talent

  • @bona371 Mate, album version is all guitar driven. ;]] But yea, this version is impressive as hell.. Mixing guitar and grand piano IS something amazing..

  • @Fligis shit, you got me there, haha, actually i was just tryin to say that, he's fucking amazing...thanks to makes it clear, cheers.

  • did he just moonwalk??

  • @kentopr I saw it too. He's bringing it back!!!!!

  • @kentopr oh yea, he moonwalked

  • most people watching this sellout music channel probably didnt realize how awesome this really was

  • better play good bitch!

  • mah pimp stick

  • woah loving the piano on it! A very get Behind Me Satan thing to do :D

  • Hes playing a guitar and twirling a cane at the same time Jack White was the original bad ass.

  • He can sing, play awesome guitar and he's pretty good with the keys. If he lived 2000 years ago people might have mistaken him for the Messiah.

  • @An0n3mu55 it wouldn't be a mistake

  • what-a-badass

  • Technical guitar virtuoso wizards like steve vai and yngwie malmsteem, while undeniably skilled and talented, will never write music that appeals to non musicians. Their fanbase will always be almost all male guitarists.

  • @blastofo And not ALL male guitarists will be appealed.. I prefer The White Stripes and Dead Weather guitar(both of Jack's recent bands) over Vai and Malmsteen...

  • @blastofo

    farrrrrrrkin oath!!!!

  • @blastofo gee ya think

  • @blastofo I'm a male guitarist and I hate the technical guitarists. I much prefer soulful blues rock like Jack.

  • @blastofo Well said

  • @blastofo im sorry man, i don't get it, can u explain it to me??

  • @blastofo Nothing bad about that imo...

  • @blastofo not only that, but jack is just as technically skilled too. he can play fast like that if he feels like it. he'd rather write good songs.

  • Thank God some folks are still rockin'. This is good shit!

  • ROBERT JOHNSON RE_INCARNATED IN A WHITE BOY FROM DETRIOT LOL...JACK IS THE BEST ROCK MUSICIAN ALIVE RIGHT NOW HANDS DOWN....AIRLINE OWES JACK WHITE BIG TIME

  • is this DiPinto guitar that jack is playin?

  • @GardanelBand Airline

  • @SoSaidtheSun isn't she a beauty...

  • @GardanelBand Indeed. One of the three guitars I'm craving right now

  • @SoSaidtheSun Gretsch White Falcon an DiPinto Mach IV are two guitars my hands would never forget...

  • @SoSaidtheSun i had an airline, i can tell you first hand that they are shit guitars. I had the oen jack has, and the rounder version as well, they should be worth about 20 or 30 bucks, they are literally plastic and glued messily together, and come apart easy. They are only so in demand becuase of jack white, if you want one, i suggest you just get the eastwood airline instead, its a much better guitar, and it sounds identical

its not the guitar that makes the sound so awesome, its the player

  • @tokersrule Yeah I've heard that about them before. I would definitely get an Eastwood. And yeah I know they are haha, I've wanted one since before I even knew about the stripes haha

  • @GardanelBand isnt

  • every breath that is in your lungs, is a tiny little gift to me!

  • i really like this drums

    !!!!

  • the man isnt playing the guitar... the guitar is playing him. straight outta his soul

  • the man isnt playing the guitar... the guitar is playing him.

  • Jack White is fucking amazing.

  • lol at 1:00 he missed the mic

  • @iHacksorzz I said "technical Virtuose". I don't deny that Jack can play guitar. My point was that he doesn't focus on technique as "the shredders", but he plays with feel. He is still a guitar Virtuose, just not a technical one. He is one of my all time favourite guitarits, and the likes of him i haven't heard since i discovered Hendrix.

  • Meg is by far the best chick drummer in the entire goddamn world

  • and it looks like there's a barbeque on top of the piano wtf! haha great song!

  • the piano chords sound the same as the guitar chords.

  • @jdotpdot, maybe because they're the same

  • @15381472 just tryin to help out people asking questions.

  • Do ppl not know how to google the chords to songs themselves?

  • awesome version!!

  • Good stuff.

  • Does anybody know what effect/pedal Jack White uses at 3:04?

  • @LiveRealMusic i think it is a Digitech Whammy Pedal =]

  • @LiveRealMusic Yeah, a pitch shifter.

  • @BLSGuitarplayer Seems like it brings the notes up a whole octave, is that all that it does?

  • @LiveRealMusic Yes, newer ones can do much more, but I think his one just brings the notes one octave higher

  • @BLSGuitarplayer His can go up and down...but he keeps it on up. I don't know which version he had exactly but it can do more then that... I think he keeps his whammy pedal up to date honestly..

  • @sirbupsalotfilms He's got the Digitech whammy IV

  • @ShieldofTriumph I saw a video where he had a silver one though...not for White Stripes...Dead Weather I believe it was. and the silver is the newest one isn't it?

  • DOES ANYONE KNOW THE PIANO CHORDS TO THIS SONG? MY BAND IS GONNA TRY AND PLAY IT AT A SHOW THISS WEEK. NEEEED TO KNOWW

  • @ReidBozell Yes, it's the same as the guitar chords. Intro: A G F# F E Verse: A G C D A Chorus: A G C D A

  • I LOVE THEM

  • I sang this song in swedish and no one liked it. -_____- prpbably because I was drunk

  • Guitar and piano at the same time. Like a boss.

  • @isildur241 fuck yeah.

  • What a fucking showman

  • JW is brilliant.

  • I have a feeling John Lennon would have loved this guy.

  • wholly shit. this is better 6 years later.

  • um

  • PURE TALENT. nothing less.

  • chick drummers man. . . can't get over them aha!

  • i want that fucking guitar

  • why does he play it on the piano? because he can

  • Jack white kind of looks like the devil a bit

  • @taylormturner dude this live vh1 thing was to promote the album "get be hind me SATAN"

  • @taylormturner thats kinda the point of the albumXD

  • Jack White is a genius! He's like a mad scientist the way he tinkers with his equipment to get the right sound out of it. I read that his red guitar is plastic and cost only $ 200 and that he likes to use inferior equipment to challenge himself. Dude is unbelievable!

  • def one of their best performences of this song

  • Fucking Epic

  • Fucking Epic

  • Fucking Epic

  • how can my brother still be into modern hip hop....after this..

  • @iHacksorzz modern hip-hop sucks. 80s-90s hip-hop owns, though....

  • @5oulPower fo sho

  • @5oulPower Have you tried listening to underground rappers like Immortal Technique, MC Supernatural (who is originally from the 80's), and shit like that??

  • @TallAleTales nope. They good?

  • Best version of Dead Leaves!

  • jack white is a legend

  • Music is not about being the best *cough Kanye cough* its about getting your's.

  • jesus fuckin christ meg gives me such a boner when i see her play the drums

  • He seems to love his stick.

  • como se llama esa cancion ?

  • I love that the distortion on the guitar makes it sound like a crackly record.

  • multitasking extrem :o

  • Well, i prefer a guy like jack that plays with feeling (just look at the guy while he plays) over some technical guitar virtuose anyday of the week, and twice on sunday.

  • @StivHobbyKniv amen to that brother

  • @StivHobbyKniv I really don't feel any emotion when I hear jack's guitar solo's. It's more in the licks where I hear feeling. I don't know, the solo's just don't seem that creative. And I shouldn't have to see the guy to feel something, it's about the music after all.

  • @StivHobbyKniv , yeah, like the edge.

  • @StivHobbyKniv so this guy is not a virtuoso? i mean his solos on ball and biscuit are ridiculous....so what is he missing from virtuoso....lol #17 on rolling stones all time

  • @StivHobbyKniv

Absolutely but some virtuosi are amazing check this guy

    /watch?v=h04-K-7Z18U (Sergei Orekhov)

  • @StivHobbyKniv Well Buckethead is a virtuoso and he's the best feeling guitar player ever. Probably not for blues though. Just listen to Machete or Datura for god's sake.

  • @StivHobbyKniv Why can't you have both?

  • anyone who questions jack white's technical prowess on the guitar might not be familiar with the blues. it's not about the how fast you can do tremolo picking or how you can do sweeps in the hirajoshi or kumoi scale, because that's a different musical experience. he's a blues guitarist playing what he feels and wants to. not saying either one is better than the other - variety is the spice of life.

  • @IDefeatedChuckNorris thats just because you defeated chuck norris lol, and this song kicks ass

  • its like the velvet underground. theres not much technical ability, but who gives a fuck? its punk rock. being a craftsman is irrelevant and seems like masturbation. plus theres something attractive about going back to the simplicity we had as 9 year olds.

  • his untuned guitar hurts my ears

  • I think Jack is as awesome as the next guy, don't get me wrong, I love his music.

But you can't exactly be impressed with his guitar work. I know 9 year olds who could play this song on guitar with their balls better than him. Something about his shitty, half-crazed guitar work is what makes him everyone's favorite twisted blues man.

  • @orioy nobody is trying to say he is a great technical guitarist however. I see it as no 9 year old could actually create the music he has let alone run from a piano to a guitar without missing a beat. I do agree with you that it isnt hard to play but good music is hard to create and he has a library full just with the stripes

  • @orioy I agree. Its like, thats how he expresses himself, or hes just bad at guitar hahah. But no hes just awesome at guitar. I love how simple everything is, and you still get that amazing feeling from it.

  • @orioy i really doubt a nine year old can control THAT much fuzz and attack and rip the most ridiculous whammy solos off the top of their head in full swing with a song. their simplicity is but isnt. theres a lot more going on than the brain can compute.

  • @lpage2112 You're exactly right. TECHNICALLY it's simple music, but it's so impossible in the way the Jack just has control over every single atom in that guitar.

  • @Imptheshrimp man so true. its like hendrix, his music isn't that technically difficult on guitar, put its almost impossible to play the way he does. "blues takes a day to learn, but a lifetime to master" - Jimmy Page

  • @juliusdrakos Exactly like Hendrix. Just idiosyncrasies in the playing and the sound, those little characteristics that make it completely their own.

  • @Imptheshrimp well said, friend.

  • @Imptheshrimp not always, have you heard the version of ball and biscuit when his guitar goes out of tune all the time? he's fantastic guitar player though.

  • @Imptheshrimp --yeah man he is the coolest Guitar player ...and meg is hot too.

  • @Imptheshrimp simple is the way meg is so hot!!

  • @orioy That's great man but he play the with feeling. Look at his face and his feet when he plays; in my opinion it's feeling the song. If you do, it's great to you and obviously, that's all that matters.

  • How can two people make so much noise?

  • He just carried so much more swagger in the white stripes than the other two bands. I always thought this was his main expression of music.

  • @Jrmcg20 yea. plus, does anyone really like the other people that sing in dead weather and raconteurs?

  • @InfamousNik I like how Alison sings...

  • Dear Jack & Meg, Every breath that was in your lungs is a tiny little gift to me. Feb. 2, 2011 - the day the music died

  • @mussman717word calm down man he's still in the dead weather.

  • @zeppguitarded

Yeah, but it'll never be the same.

  • @zeppguitarded

Dead Weather is aight but seriously them and The Raconteurs can't even compare the this.

  • @cheatcommandos14 sir i agree whole heartedly.

  • I wish I was the hat Jack was wearing so I could be that much closer to that musical genius brain...

  • 2:11 you can def notive how Meg adores guitar players

  • Comment removed

  • @d3falco

    Hey, fuck you.

  • I soooooo want that outfit Jack's wearing!

  • pure fucking genius...both of them....amazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzing......i love the way they both play off each other.......and love her primative drumming style.....they really are just great!

  • i started watching this video fully clothed...

    i am now completely naked..

i believe i have found music.

  • Jack can multi-task, a quality very few men have. Maybe he's a super genius!

  • Bro,his hair looks like MJ. :)

  • i need an addon for firefox blending out the comments and double the volume instead!

  • cant wait to see how many messages i get

  • i wonder what he tastes like? he'd taste it all the time cos his mouth is himself so he tastes his tongue with his tongue. i wish i was exactly the same height so i could bring it up with other people that like music…. i mean want to fuck jack. i wonder where he puts his picks at his house!

  • i love the way jack sits down and how he stands and its so cool when he looks at something and i love how its not just a guitar its his guitar and his hair is black. i love his taste of music and how he is in a band with a girl and the girls shit at drumming but its so good cos she is shit and he doesn't care.

  • @gus5985 dude drugs are bad ☠

  • 1:35 cardboard hat

  • thumbs up for pilsner

  • how does he get that fuzz?

  • @urbanAgrobat its a Big Muff + right amp (it seem that its a fender) + the Humbuckers(JB Hutto), he get that fuzz tone

  • @nirvanalive4ever Exactly, you just can't get that sound with modern guitars. Keep in mind that the Airline he plays was a certified, grade A piece of crap back in the day, and it still is. And he plays through speakers from Sears, of all places! It's certainly anything but hi-fi. So the pickups break up and give that wonderful distortion effect, not because they were meant to but just because they were bottom-of-the-line junk at the time.

  • haha i love the way he can play the guitar and twirl a cane

  • How talented is Jack....?

  • @erato99 everybody simaltaniously jizzed in their pants at the end of the song........thats how much
