  • Awesome!

  • Niceley Don!!!!

  • Mean can u actually uncouple a trailer in an angle or does it have to be straight

  • reminds me of 20 odd years ago growing up driving past the Roadway terminal going into the city and seeing all the Ford C-liner rigs parked around. Could see that even into the late 90's.

  • what a dumb ass ,u should of have your back box hooked with middle trl then get your front box get a gear then hook it ,save your back thats why u guys r going under to much yard time yrc sucks

  • @MrFixcredit So what if I pulled into a via point with two trailers and had to hook on a third one which was also the lightest according to weight, dumb ass???? Then how do I do it Super Trucker????? Apparently your not much with finace either, go read up on YRC's restructuring and how it's going. Maybe if you had not opened your cocksucker and said something stupid I would let you reply, but sorry to say your an ignorant person. BLOCKED!!!!!!!!

  • that things a toy

  • This is some sick skills, he has to make dame sure everything has been alined almost perfectly straight... I am pretty good at backing a trailer and a dolly but backing a trailer-dolly-trailer-dolly is just cracy! Yea, this is pretty stupid, I would've put it in the front...

  • good stufff bro

  • O'MY BAD I THOUGHT THE TITTLE SAID "HOOKING UP WITH A SET OF TRIPLETS"

  • You should never pull the pin before you drop the landing gear.

  • Nice video. I worked for Yellow for 10 years pulling doubles. I invented and have a patent on a new tool to move and line up the dolly with the lead trailer called the Dolly Jockey. I expect Yellow Roadway will equip all their tractors with it soon. I have attached a video I think you will find interesting.

  • nice job, I am laid off from the 135 yard.,

Australia may have bigger longer trucks but it does not have the hills and mountains and more importantly it has half the mean average of idiot drivers faced with that the states do. As for backing yo9u do everything in your power NOT to be in a position to back doubles or triples and if you do it is with very small steering inputs.

  • Awesome, you are awesome!

  • thats a very little triple, check out our triples in Australia, now there real trucks with massive weights, i think your a bit rough on the hitch up, landing gear didn't like the jolts to much..

  • LOL we have double road trains here in australia the same langth as that

  • couldnt you just add the 3rd trialer to the front ?? ?

  • @countrymusicgtavboy2 Now why on earth would dispatch give a driver their trailers in such a logical order like that?

  • Good job brother!!

  • What kinda freight does Roadway haul? Nice video too

  • i have seen these guys hit the wall with the last trailer on the sky way twice

  • good job trucker, good job.

  • I hold a class A cdl with hazmat .I was just making a joke about unloadin triples.

  • Seems kinda backwards. Would it not be easier to hook up like your doing doubles then put the third trailer in front of the doubles? I ask this because I drive doubles and the way this was done seems like extra work. Just one mans opinion. Have a good day.

  • @erichpostjr2 I pulled a set of double into the yard and had to hook the third on the back end because it was the lightest. They always go in order of weight with heaviest first. Had I hooked them from scratch I would have done it different

  • @thefengkc I thought they hook Heaviest-Lightest-2nd heaviest?

  • @drumbasher nope, they go in order by weight. Heaviest first.

  • @thefengkc Cool, thx for the info, be safe out there.

  • that is some great stuff! im from holland and i really love American trucks! but how do you back up 3 trailers? and how unload them if they are all in front of each others loading doors? or how you call that :P

  • @CherylKimberleylover There are doors on the front of each trailer. You back to a dock, open all the doors, slide out the floor extensions, and you are in business.

  • @supressorgrid There are NOT doors in the front you moron. To Iliad them you have to unhook all of them

  • @supressorgrid

Sadly, he doesnt have them sort of trailer, all need to be un-hooked to be unloaded, but ive seen what you mean...

  • @CherylKimberleylover You have to unhook them all to unload them. All these trailer were going from one Roadway terminal to another Roadway terminal. No in route deliveries, all of it goes to Roadways freight dock.

  • @thefengkc but the last 2 trailers are on dolly's so how do you back them up? can you attach a dolly to a semi truck aswell??

  • why cant you just hook the set the way you hook doubles but add 1 more trailer? i pull doubles but never pulled triples

  • thats got nothin on the roadtrains here in aus!

  • id say thats cheating! but i would much rather that then trying to back a "pup" and getting it right! LOL nice work. the only other way you could do it would take forever!

  • well i have to say,,,you who drive the triple trailer roadtrainsare the true kings of trucking. there are some who can bang around downtown toronto in a FLD and one pup trailer and call themselves a truck driver. and there are some who can sit behind a monitor and sneer but when challenged to get up and actually drive a truckk...they dissapear. you sir are a real truck driver. i take my hat off to you..or i would if i had one ;P very cool video always wondered how this was done!

  • Are you at terminal 326?I work ob at 508 in dallas.I send you direct loads 5 nites a week.

  • I only have to do that when dispatch gives me another trailer to replace the one I already hooked, happens when I have an empty..

  • Cool. Was this a "how to" or a back up for your time card?

  • @411NewYork I did it because alot of people ask us how we hook the third trailer on.

  • @thefengkc That's cool. Thanks.

If you need to take out the middle after it all hitched (say another driver needs to take it with their rig) is it an easy process to get it out?

  • awesome, u do a very good job, stay safe!!!

  • Didn't Roadway go out of business?

  • i could be wrong, but i think FedEx bought em out in response to UPS Freight buying out OverNight.

  • I wish FedEx or UPS had bought us, I might still be working

  • not yet, we were combined with Yellow to become YRC. It's only a matter of time though.

  • Roadway was bought out by Yellow. They are now called YRC

  • And now we know how to do that! Very cool!

  • Nice vid,keep it safe

  • nice video man, i use to work for roadway before i bailed and went over to ups freight...glad i made that move, alot of guys out of work over there at YRC

  • i was laid off last march, don't think I'll ever get called back.

  • You never uncouple with the tractor at an angle because that can damage the landing gear! The way they teach in the book is: 1 pull the third trailer and place it in the yard. 2. take the converter dolly and place it in front of the third then. 3. take the second trailer place it in front of the dolly hook the dolly to the Pintle hook connect the air, then back the trailer and dolly under the third trailer and do the same for the second and first trailer!

  • You know nothing about this or driving a truck. Your "by the book" explaination takes better than an hour in good weather. The guys I worked with at Roadway who trained me did it this way. The same way it's been done since Roadway has been pulling triple combo's. Your book explaination does not work in the the real world. Go back to fixing computers and leave the heavy lifting to the men.

  • Actually I have watched pros do it as I work for UPS. and I am just pointing out what COULD NOT WILL happen. especially if you couple at an angle. and actually my by the book explanation does work in the real world. too bad you have to take it so personally. and no it doesn't take an hour. it also depends on the ground the trailers on and how high you lift the trailer if you put the trailers jack firmly on the ground then it all fine usually, If you let the jack hover then you can hurt it.

  • You "watched" the pro's so your an expert? Next time you see your pro's doing it wrong, go and offer your opinion and see what they say. It would take and hour to do, I've done it a thousand times. But what would I know, I didn't read it out of a book and watch the professionals at UPS.

  • @alexfo7o i drive for UPSF, i dont just "watch", theres nothing wrong with the way he did it we only hook doubles but we still do this sometimes....learn what you are talking about before you try to be an expert on it

  • I am not "trying" to be an expert I am just pointing out "POSSIBILITIES"!

  • Amen I drive for old dominion and never had to pull doubles yet. Yeah by the book is not always the fastest or easiest when we can take our first trailer and jiff and back straight into our 2nd trailer. Alex go back to driving your 53s let the real men show you how its done. lol

  • @alexfo7o you are clueless, you cant do everything by the book

  • No not clueless. and I know that you cant do everything by the book to each his own and the thing in my opinion that is best left up to the drivers style is shifting the DMV wants you to use the clutch but that is for sure not always best esp since you have to rev match anyway.

  • why all trailers must be limit 53 feet long,,,

how about 60 feet long is better than 53

  • @bestamerica some states are 57.....my state is 53 and im happy with that, its long enough

  • hi the,

    alright thank

  • can you haul triple 53? And how would you have those triple get towed in case of a brake down? Would the wrecker Pull your truck with all 3 trailers or would you have to unload one?

  • Pretty sure no on triple 53's...those are 28's...I've personally hooked 4 loaded 28's together, (140,000lb gross) absolutely wild looking rolling, but couldn't leave the yard with them. As far as what happens in this video, we do it all the time, but with an Ottowa (yard horse)...much easier than with with a tractor due to wheelbase, turning ratio.and visibility.

  • ya no triple 53's here. I have seen (2)48's with a 28' kite. That's about as long as they will allow you to be.

  • most of the time the wrecker will bring another tractor with him and switch you out.

  • Good Video.

I'm looking for a video showing how to hook up the converter dolly to the first trailer.

Something visually showing how to lock the pintle hook, and how to close the shut off valves etc...etc....

A visual walk thru tutoral showing each step from start to finish would really be helpful to a dummy like me.

  • thats how i hook up triples but you cant get that trailer any closer to that dolly than that. i get it about 5 ft from the dolly

  • You go boy!! Thats how to do it!! Especially with that empty on the ass end. 15 vet here out of 830 (Bloomington,Ca.) 2 thumbs up from me. When noone is around ya do it the quick and e-z way!! I used to goto the railyards and watch guys like mrchairman08 hook their sets I found it very entertaining..lol. I can break and make a set in just under 20 min. using same jiff!! I am not bragging just done it forever lol.

  • I'll give you credit for taking the time to do this video. But for everyone watching this please take the time to connect the light cord from the tractor to the trailer before pulling it around the yard at night. Also, never drag the trailer legs on the ground. Always raise the legs an inch before checking the fifth wheel hookup.

  • are you serious??? Nobody does that. If you watched to video that closely and are sooooo safety minded, don't forget to tell everybody to put both air lines on the trailer too. This is common practice when parking the 3rd trailer in line. It was at a DROP PAD, not a terminal, there was no one else around and the wind chill was about -15. NOBODY does that crap your talking about.

  • BINGO!!!

  • that is phucking awesome video. cool shit driver.

  • Tony has too mauch time on his hands.

  • Very awesome bro! Big fan of LTL...hopin to be on the roadside for one of them in the future! Hope you make some more vids!
