  • Lovely... making me wanting to cycle in Netherland. It feels so nice. It is very stressful cycling in my own country's road (Singapore). Hope other Singapore drivers can be more cyclists' friendly. I am also a driver myself and I drive most of the time because the road is just not conducive for cycling, except in the park. :(

  • wat voor fiets rij je eigenlijk..? als ik die filmpjes zo is zie waar je allemaal geweest ben moet je wel een goeie fiets hebben :D

@7.25 a Long Distance Cycling route sign

  • It looks like they need more bike parking.. I know there are a lot, but they all look full.

Funny, some of my dreams are much like this video... Very strange that I dream about real life, someone elses....

  • So, you don't like football...

  • nice! i am from mexico and i went on an exchange program to rotterdam. this lifestyle is just awesome. going to school and pretty much whatever you need to do in your life by bike is an amazing experience. now i work in indianapolis and i just bought my bike because i wanted this lifestyle here. fortunately there is a track that i can use from home to work everyday and i am pretty much the only one who uses it haha. We'll see on winter...

  • Definitely a city built for cycling. Great to see! More cities should be planed like this

  • I'm so excited about this video! To see something like this in our country we can only in our dreams)). By the way, I'm from Moscow(Russia).... It looks like all made for comfort people living. Very impressed!

  • 3:19 is approximately what cycle lanes look like in London, but shared with heavy traffic.......and quite often, cars parked on those cycle lanes.

  • Wonderful video. It makes me despise living here in Los Angeles California, car (and idiot) capitol of the world. One question though: since you pointed out that there was a section for 'free bike parking', are you implying that there are some places where you have to pay to park your bike? Essentially, are you paying for some sort of security to watch the bike lot, or is it just a way for the government to recieve some sort of revenue?

  • @ravuthpum, free parking is often just outdoor bike racks without much security. There may be security cameras though. Paid parking is most often indoors, with very good basic security (your bike gets labeled, you need to show the matching label when you come collect your bike). These places may also offer repair services, sometimes they are complete bicycle shops. Paid parking is most often found near train stations, sometimes near commercial/shopping areas.

  • @ravuthpum You can pay to park you're bike secured, meaning it's at least behind bars and often there's a guard present as well. Most people buy 'citybikes' though, which means bikes which look old and rusty. In combination with a good lock, it will probably last for some years before it's stolen.

  • Brilliant video as usaul markenlei.

the old lady at about 3:10 made with the orange panier bags made me laugh - ain't nothing getting in her way!

  • Yet another excellent video! Thanks for posting. Hope you return to Nijmegen & Beek-Ubbergen soon for more videos. BTW, I woke up at 04:30 to watch the NL-DK game here in SoCal. The streets were quiet here too during the game ;)

  • And at 5:54 you have the Dutch three-way kiss. *shudder*
