nice video but why anyone would want to play modern country is beyound me. its pure crap with the exception of a decent song here and there. its all cookie coutter these days. no heart, no feeling...just up tempo rockish sounding garbage. wheres the twang these days. it can be good music just get a new name for it cause it sure as hell aint country. real country fans and players are a bit snobbish i agree but we have good cause. this chic can play though. props to her
@ming746 I personally look at "new country" more as rock and pop music with some country instrumentation. It is really different from the country I grew up on. The thing I do appreciate about it with my students who take lessons from me live, is that a lot of times they are introduced to country via country rock, and then tend to like it and discover traditional country as well. I love seeing that happen.
@lindabmusiclessons1 I have seen the opposite. Those who get their start with todays so called country like it but when they hear real country music they dont like it. they think what they like is country cause the mainstream labels it that when in reality it is what you just described. rock and pop with a few country licks thrown in. I knew this was coming around 1992 1993. You could hear the change coming. 1995 1996 it was too far gone. with the exception of a few here and there,
Good point Dale it is. I think I fogot to mention that in the video. Also it should be noted for those of you who play mainly country music that especially with traditional country you would use the other forms of the G and C chords, the more traditional ones. If you don't know how to play them, you can find them in my chord videos.
Linda...one tip on your video....Your tempo's will be a lot more accurate when playing for any length of time if you use your Wrist instead of using your entire lower arm. Plus its a lot easier on you.

KC it is true that especially for fast playing it is easier to play using the wrist more than the arm.

Cool video! However, the black on black makes the arms seem a bit phantom and it's kinda creepy XD
