@twilly972 I can't. My phone is rooted with a custom rom and i changed the boot animation to the honeycomb boot animation. but u can find the thunderbolt boot animaton with sound online or maybe even on youtube. the sound is just lightning with an animated lightning bolt.

RESIZING INSTRUCTIONS

Download the bootanimation.zip to your desktop then right click on your new file and click "extract here". You will see three files that have been extracted and only one of the being a file named desc.txt so open that file and you will see text that looks like this:

p 1 0 part0

p 0 0 part1

Change the "x"s to look like this for the Droid X:

480 854 xx

p 1 0 part0

p 0 0 part1

Leave the value that the "x"s resemble alone.

@AcidsMark How do i change the desc with out extracting the zip

@AcidsMark The link in the description is already resized for the DX. also if you put " s soundfile.ogg " in between p 1 0 part0 and p 0 0 part1 you will get sound. "soundfile.ogg" being whatever sound file you would like. It has to be placed in system/media to work. Looks like this:

480 854 280

p 1 0 part0

s soundfile.ogg

p 1 0 part1

if there are any spaces or anything, or if you re-zip it and its too compressed it will break.

@Atom1cKitten You seem like you have a lot of patience to help us! lol, thanks! So... I renamed the RAGE sound, to "redrageboot" - after 'part0' I typed in "s redrageboot.ogg" with only a space between the S and the REDRAGEBOOT, is that s even supposed to be in there? Then I threw all the files I'd extracted into a new zip folder and renamed it bootanimation again.

@connorconard you can make it for the DX yourself like I did... open the bootanimation.zip file then open the desc.txt file and change it to look like this:

480 854 30

p 1 0 part0

p 0 10 part1
