This particular track works on core stabilization, tests the strength of each leg and works on motor function skills which are needed in every day life.
Body Balance is made up of yoga, tai chi and Pilates and forms the foundation of the class. Each track being divided into different areas of the body from sun salutations (taken from yoga) working on the flexibility and upper body strength, standing strength, which works on the strengt
I've been doing Balance for a few weeks now and already feeling the benefits.... body and soul.. love it :) Wish my teacher was male though, better still, THIS male ;)
Nice technique generally speaking but you should be careful about tipping your head so far back in updog. First for safety reasons and second in order to not to lose eye contact with the participants. And you tend to do the same with mountain pose ...Watch Jackie or Dr Dave closely when they're teaching ;-)
try to get your heels right down on the mat when you do downward facing dog and three legged dog , your nearly there but can see a little gap every time
@chuckypud Everyone has a different level of flexibility.. having a gap between the floor and your feet on downward dog isnt detrimental to the move. Its all about the technique breathing and form, not about your actual flexibility. The excercises in Body Balance were designed for every level of fitness and flexibility.
Hello Cris. I'm from Portugal and for a long time I attended to Body Balance classes but recently I had to stop. I love your videos (sun salutation and balance) because they help me doing BB at home by myself being guided by you! Please, upload some more videos! :)
How beautiful! I am a beginner at BodyBalance and after seeing this video I cannot wait for the class tomorrow to try to improve my movements and my posture.
In this video the movements are so flowing and it looks so easy! Wow!
oh yaa... one more thing.. when u do tree legged dog.. firstly u should flex your foot and hips facing the floor.. then when u go to plank pose.. u can moving front with pointing you foot.. but if u do the standing split at track 9, u can pointe your toes and al little bit twist your hips to the side.. hehe.. :)
at the begining 2x8 is only precue and telling the technique.. then the next 2x8 you do the forward fall.. and one more thing.. when u do the cobra/updog, dont facing the ceiling.. but facing front... :)

Ah, so that's how to do an effortless step-forward from Down Dog. Slowly bend the knees first!
