  • didn't change a thing

  • @TheMrModders- if u flashed it it WONT work... Bad flash=time to get new console

  • @MrMets7 didn't flash it though, the sata cables just aren't the problem

  • @TheMrModders oh ok sorry, u sure it says E64, also did you get this error when you were downloading an update?

  • @MrMets7 Well I'm not sure when it got the error, I bought it used. But there's no way it was flashed cause I could tell it was never taken apart before. And Yes it says E64, lol. But Thanks for the help

  • What if the cables arnt broken but the hole on the green part is broken

  • idn why but ive gotten this a few times in it just fixed itself in an hour or so or i just wiggle the wires around

  • god i miss the old days wen all u had to do was blow in the disk drive or slap around a consul to get it working again...

    thumbs up if u agree

  • @thepaperbullets haha, nintendo nes

  • Thanks man. I tried everything except the obvious replace cables lol. turns out I had a bad sata cable.

  • @0bigtony0 yeah no problem man glad it worked

  • does it work on xbox 360 slim

  • @kishanpatel90 It should

  • would it work if i did this with an old xboxs wires ?

  • @JACKOJACKO121 ya it should unless the old wires are broken!

  • you said that we should remove any dvd inside the xbox before going through this procedure, but the tray won't open because of the error! can I unplug and replug the cables even though there's a dvd inside?? If not what should I do??? plzzz help

  • @kevinchiha1 yes you can just don't shake or jog your dvd drive too much or it will scratch your disk, and/ or maybe damage your dvd drive lazer... you shoudnt have any problems though... if your drive is not opening at all it could be another problem, your drive may nees wd-40 on the tracks and gears, or it could need a new rubber band, if you need me to make another video to help you with your drive I will... Good Luck!

  • this worked for me thanks alot!

  • Great video and I will give it ago tommorow, but before I do the odd thing is, is that I only get the E64 code after a failed system update when trying to connect to live.

If I take out the network cable it all works fine, though it wil cause issues when the game wants a system update.

    Any further thoughts?

  • @L61kvo ya i'd have to say just try and replace those cables... Good luck!

  • @MrMets7 New cables didn't seem to fix the problem :(

  • @MrMets7 does this count for the slim as well ?

  • my says that and it dosnt read disc help me it dosnt read do i need those cables reply i need to know plzzzzzz any one help me

i just open it clean it and closed it back and boom :( face bull shit

  • @XxSwagGamersxX No that problem has nothing to do with the cables... you will need to buy a new drive... before you buy a new drive make sure you get the exact brand that is in your xbox 360. once you have the new drive you will have to either do a drive key swap or you will have to flash your drive. There are more vids on youtube on how to do both. I myself like to do the "dvd key swap" the process is really not that hard! I hope this helped thanks!

  • @MrMets7 NO I JUST DICONNECTED THEM AND PLUG THEM BACK IN AND IT WORKS

  • @MrMets7 Not a drive, a new laser.

  • my says that and it dosnt read disc help me it dosnt read do i need those cables reply i need to know plzzzzzz any one help me

  • my says that and it dosnt read disc

  • doesnt helped for me ;/

  • thnx my nega this helped my cheap ass 360

  • there was smoke coming out of my drive so can that be fixed with wires

  • @maxassasin911 wtf run lol

  • thanks man but when i took out the 12 adapter cable, on the xbox 360 one of the pronges were missing. it looked like

    o o o o o o is this normal.

    x o o o o o

  • @TheDemonKidBuu- yes I think that is normal, but I agree it is strange, mine is like that too... If you have this error i would just change both cables the 12 volt and the sata. hope this helps...

  • @MrMets7 yes this did help. and thanks for responding i thought that was the problem but yea i will replace the sata and the 12 volt cables and see what happens.

  • what if i try to hack it n i got the e64 will this fix it??

  • @MegaPimplol NO if you got this error while hacking your xbox is bricked

  • thank you bro

  • I tried this and found out i got the error because my hard drive wasn't in propely.

  • what are the chances that the dvd board is gone? i have a liteon with those 2 ports attached directly into the dvd board. Swapped with diff drives using the same two cables and they all power and eject except for my liteon.. )=

  • hi, i have an xbox laptop(see my videos) and i sometimes get this error. I have also heard that this error is from a bad flash, but mine has been working with the new xbox dashboard so I dont think that is the problem. first i tried powering the dvd drive from 5v unswitched line, it worked for a little bit, now it keeps coming up with e64/65. do you think i should replace the sata or the dvd power cable?

    good vid, thanks btw

  • @seb43654 Hi, Btw great Idea I want to make one now!!! you E64 Error is coming from that Sata cable... I watched one of your vids and saw that you modded it to extend longer so it could reach the port... I suggest buying a factory made longer sata cable they sell them on ebay for like 5 bucks. I could not tell but your dvd power was prob. extended too... If just one solder point on those cables is wrong the entire cable is wrecked... Link to cables. is in next comment box I am running outof room

  • @seb43654 link to ebay... sorry cant add link dumb youtube... alright go to ebay(dot)com and type this # in the search box 150572768689 and then you will know what i'm talking about. Let me know if this works for you!!!

  • @MrMets7 hi, thanks for all the help, very kind of you! the only problem with the red sata cable(i already have one) is that it is not right angled, so it wont fit in the back, as there is a small space. I will just correct my current sata cable, and maybe buy the longer dvd power cable. Last night I took the cover off, and re-plugged the power plug, and then it worked fine, I think it is to do with that!

  • @seb43654 alright glad I could help, I also found this seller from GBP that sells angled sata cables 250782805805.

  • Can I use a used sata and 12v cable to switch it?

  • @vays857 Yea as long as they work!

  • @MrMets7 I tried it with a xbox 360 which has the RROD and that did not work. Thats a bummer

  • @vays857 yup the RROD is a GPU or CPU error not a cable error the only thing this will work with is E64

  • @MrMets7 no thats not what i meant lol i took out the 2 cables from the RROD xbox and replace it with the xbox with the e64 but it did not work. sorry haha

  • @vays857 oh ok yeah that is strange unless you flashed your xbox drive bad that should have fixed your problem. Also I have been hearing that if your hdd is not in tight enouph it could cause it. Just make sure your hard drive is in tight. Sorry i could not be much of a help that is a bummer...

  • u mentioned that u have to remove the disk inside the drive. My disk is inside....and i cant eject it. Do i need to take apart the drive and get it?

  • @dZbonezx If your console is open you can do the E64 fix without taking the disk out as long as you dont shake the console or anything stupid like that. Once you have your console open if you keep tapping on the top of the drive and pushing the eject button at the same time than the drive will normally open eventually! I not take the drive appart and use some WD40 on the internal gears...

  • @MrMets7 thanks sir

  • i have the no video error...can i fix that without opening the xbox up?...please tell me its possible lol

  • @threethirty3x2 sorry a no vid error is a completely different thing. for that you have to clean the paste from the gpu and the cpu and replace the paste with arctic silver 5. It works best if you reflow it at a rework station. but you can do this fix by just replacing the xclamps with washers and replacing the paste with arctic silver 5.

  • This is also caused by bad flashing.

  • so thats wat happend to my xbox 360 !

  • worx

  • I got e 64 but when I put my X BOX on you can see that the disk is spinning but would not let me play the game all I can do is open tray do you no what is wrong with it

  • @rhystrow1 yup just follow this video step by step and you will be up and running in no time. :) (tech error= bad sata ans 12volt cables...)

  • lol i took off my harddrive and put it back on then when i turned on my abox it had 1 red flashing light then i turned it off and back on and it worked perfectly lol just a system glitch

  • Glad it helped

  • Thanks man :D, I just took them out wires out, then just turned on my xbox and she worked :) thanks alot. Now i just have to order new wires but still... THANK CHA

  • Hahaha its pretty cool when you turn it on and it finally is fixed :)

  • Thanks alot man , i had this xbox in my room just under my bed for over 3 years and ive just fixed it in like 10 mins Thanks again :)

  • lol so weird.. i actually took my 360 apart cleaned it all up for the e 74 and worked perfectly, and now its this e64. -.- *shows fist to ms*

    thanks for the help.

  • @xXItachiXx06 np should work after this!!!

  • No problem =)

  • worked. thank you.

  • Sata and 12 volt adapter cables

  • what are the cables calles again thanks

  • What are you talking about either grow some mussels or get glasses they fit fine come on man

  • "the hole is to small and its hard to get it out" THATS WHAT SHE SAID!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanx for the fix. I bought an xbox 360 a week ago and after few hours games did lockup and i got e64 as soon as i turned on the console.

I ordered new sata cable after i saw your vid, came in today and it works like charm.

No more errors, en the new cable is better quality too.

    Great fix!

  • @janboy331 glad I could help!!! microsoft charges WAY too much for such a simple fix...

  • If i have 3 Rings Of Death on my xbox, are the sada & 12 volt adapter cables still working?

  • @BigBouncyBalls69- the cables are probably ok your best bet is to do the xclamp fix or to reflow it with a heat gun which is very successful i just fixed an xbox today by reflowing it.

  • @MrMets7 sick i had a xbox with 3 red rings and another with a e64 problem and i switched the sada and 12 volt adapter cables and the xbox reads dvds but not games lol. Any ideas?

  • @BigBouncyBalls69- part 1- yes, umm if you switched the dvd keys inside the dvd drives the xbox drive will only be able to read dvds and not games... Make sure you didnt open up the actual drive itself, but just switch the sata and 12 volt cables.

  • BigBouncyBalls69- part 2- If this doesnt work open up you dvd drive and make sure your dvd key doesnt have a loose connection. (Your dvd key is like married to your motherboard and cannot be switched between xbox consoles.) the key is a mini dvd motherboard located in the back of your dvd drive... hope this helped - thanks

  • true, but 95% of the time this will fix your problem unless you really screwed up your mb.

  • this is not always the problem!!!! it can also be the sata port on mb bad

  • your welcome you can find really cheap cables by typing in xbox sata cable on ebay!!!

  • Thanks for the help, but first i need some cables!
