Twin linked flamers works great in a single suit with the failsafe detonator. YOu simply deepstrike it in right infront of that big nasty 20 man blood angel assault marine squad flame them and move behind cover. THe enemy chases you and kills you and then the opponent starts crying.

Tau are a very effective army, one guy at our local gaming club is so deadly with the tau that some members are apprehensive about taking him on, he even came second in the club tourny only loosing to 1st place by 1 kill point. on the other hand we also have a member who came last with tau so it goes to show its not down to the army or codex its down to how people use the army, dont blame a codex for player mistakes or failures.

I use Shas'vre broadside with adv stabli system, hardwired MT, TL Plasma R, HW drone controler 2 shield drones. (i change names for au suit form my own Tau chapter this is called Heavystorm, the SMS is Heavyrain, all based on weather. Also i dunno but Internet/you got fireknife wrong page 172 BRB fireknife = TL Fusiongun, Shield Gen.

About the stealth suit there, if you are shooting at somthing that lives after 6 burst cannons at BS4 (yes use the options on them) you are shooting (and are standing placed in the wrong place) at the wrong target :)

I agree that crisis have more use, but dont count the stealth suits out of the game.

@pixl3l The problem with them is points though. A 6 man stealth team CAN do damage but will only do so to infintry and they cost 180 pts without upgrades. Now the problem becomes that it's 60 more points to make them BS 4. :/

For 11 more points (191 pts.) you can get a 3 man fireknife team with a team leader the WILL do damage infintry and can now treaten vehicles without getting on the rear armour closer to the enemy.

I love my stealthsuits, but they just arn't a smart points investment.

Tau = an interesting challenge on the battle field. I usually vs. them with my imperial guard and they enjoy enjoying my tanks. I enjoy mass fiepowering back >:D

I cant believe that people are so mean to a race in a game. I mean, as you've shown us yourself Shaun, any race can be played well to victory with tactics and skill, oh and luck of blue dice. I really cant believe that people hate Tau that much, and theres probably similar reactions to other sort of things. Personally I love the Tau, as I pay more attention to the story and design aspect. @SwiftNightRunner that is legal its a twin-linked missile pod, flamer (= 3 hard points used) however you would need to upgrade it to vre and get a hard wired multi-tracker if you want to use the pods and flamer in the same shooting phase.

I like a unit of flamer suits..to do exactly what you said. drop down, flame the crap out of stuff and then die. It's not a bad thing!

I go TL with drone controller, TL flamers, 2 gun drones.

suit 2 with TL flamer, bust cannon and multi-tracker

Suit 3 with TL flamer, missile pod (just in case) and multi-tracker.

Gets hot isn't really as bad as people make it out to be. They make it like it's evil reincarnate... it's I guess good if you have Feel no pain. So armour save, fail that, feel no pain... fail that well... you must've been unlucky cause it still is a 1/6 chance of getting the gets hot in the first place.
