Ghost notes can be considered a "crutch" or a "habit" and in most cases "slop". The high hat is in play, so you don't attempt ghost notes. If you study funk, REAL FUNK, not progressive odd stuff, but like Meters Funk, you will see that this is a great demonstration. Good job my friend!
@kc5tng you're an idiot and a damn fool. You obviously open your mouth before reading, thinking and understanding. Ignorant drummers sometimes use ghost notes because they don't know what to do with the other hand. Intelligent drummers use ghost notes to highlight or define. Ghost notes are great when played where appropriate. You sir, are an idiot, a damn fool and an ignorant turd. Such stupid words reflect your stupidity. Your not a good drummer, regardless of what your family says.
The point I was trying to make is that "ghost notes" are NOT a crutch nor are they "bad habits".
Yes, I may be an idiot and a damn fool but it wasnt me who said that Ghost notes are crutchs...you said that~ and why did my "family" get dragged into all this nonsense?? What does my family have to do with anything I typed?
I am just reading this. Sorry your family got brought into the discussion. The thing I got from 773lander is that more often than not, drummers play things out of context or to often. The thing I observe from watching great players is their limitied musical vocabulary. Many times I can see all there is to see from a drummer because by the end of his performance, he has thrown out all the little tricks and licks he knows. Ghost notes are good depending on the context in which they are used!!
cool nice job, the second part sounds like something you could rap to haha. :P
