You should visit sites about drifting an FF and there are drivers that use left foot braking as a tool to replace the hand brake. Left foot braking is a fact. and you can replace the ebrake with that technique.
FF... I appreciate some people like it! But to me, it's not particularly pretty... the drivetrain is all wrong... plus with all the handbraking your rears will look like 50p pieces when you're done :P

@PaYs100 Fail on your part...left-foot braking is very easy to do, especially in an automatic. A little bit trickier in a manual tho. Either way, worked for me every time...which makes me wonder if you actually understand the vehicle dynamics. There are are tons of ways to get an FF sideways, it's just easier in an FR because the drive wheels help to steer i.e. rotate...
@apexdna left foot braking isn't meant for making a car going sideways tho... its just so that there is no transition time between changing foot between accelerator, and the brake. when i have a chance next time, ill try braking bit harder and see if i can get the car sideways.

He used to drift a s13 but wrecked it and started playing around in a ef 4dr.Then he figured out how to drift a ff.He uses a Ef hatch back because of the legnth of it .He said most other honda cars or either too long or short.I think hes sponsord by falken tires now

he was drifting, there are 5 types of drifting. Brake, clutch, throttle, e-brake, and feint (whatever its called). FF's can use three of those types if tuned right. In this case he was e-brake drifting.
The definition of drifting is controlled oversteer. Whether whether its FF, FR, MR, etc it doesnt matter. A 94 civic coupe won second place a few years ago in a california drift competition among all the uber powerful and flashy 240s and 86's. Its about driver more than the car... any real enthusiast would know that.

in a FF you need to block the rear tires with an E-brake anytime... with ABS system you can't block them. in FR you can drift oversteering by power-over, braking, clutching, etc.

i agree with that, except i think it comes down more to power to weight ratio, AE86's keep up with a 900hp supra or other wise just fine because it weighs next to nothing, but yes, i tihnk tires and suspension are your first stop, if they aint right, it aint gunna work out no matter how much power you have
actually power doesnt really matter (according to the drift king) and i had a 97 whp lancer that was FF and it drifted just fine, the suspension was stock and so were the tires. yes every little bit helps but thats not what it's all about. and if your a drifter go for suspension first, then tires, and power really doesnt matter, thats why a 180hp S15 silvia can keep up to a 700hp Charger during drifts.

amm i think that is for rwd cars only... that technique wouldn't work for fwd cars because of their tendency to understeer.

ff's could always drift. ppl refuse to accept it. it prolly takes more skil to drift a ff than a fr, mr, or even awd.

Um... nearly stock AE86 took the D1GP the first year it hit america. It blew by all those 300-horse power FF cars that were entered in the competition.

that AE86 was no way near stock. and what 300 hp FF cars in D1? i've never seen that. Formula D maybe because they're lame.

Keisuke Hatakeyama: The entrance is the same as an FR. It all depends on how fast you can enter the corner and throw the tail out sideways. You adjust your drift and cornering angle with the gas and steering. When you reach the clipping point, you use the gas and tap the e-brake to maintain the drift. Exit the drift on the gas and tapping on the e-brake once again. All of this must happen without lifting off the gas. Your foot should be on the gas the whole time, either at full or half-throttle.

Ok, he uses the handbrake to slide the car, so whats new? The great thing is that he doesnt only puts the car sideways with the handbrake, but he can continue the drift like an FR machine! Great!
