Hey! I have scoliosis and will be having a surgery on Jan. 13, 2011 I'm really scared and nervous!!!! i will be missing a month of school!! My degree is 61 i don't really want to talk about my surgery at school cuz my friends already know about that cuz it makes me cry i'm thinking about surgery, recovery and everything! I have to be strong cuz i know that God is with me! stay strong! and let's support each other! <3

@purple12c aww yes i cry all the time wen i hear about it too. but u r completely right we cant change it so we just have to keep praying to god! :) yes i cry alot lately and so i k now wat u r feeling exactly. and i have a fear of hospitals and needles so tht makes me scared more but like u said god wil lhelp us! and he never gives us mor ethen wat we can handle! :) my surgery is january 5th so i can help u if u want? abotu hwo it goes. :) do u have a facebook? yes we can support each other

Hi, i just found out the other week i had scoliosis, my curve wasnt that big, then i went to hospital the other day and found it was dead on 70 degrees, people where tellin me i cud die, but its not true, the doctor sed it was wen it was wen it was over 90. But mine got the 70 in two weeks. and it wooryn me. i need a operation in 2 t0 3months. i think your very brave. woow i hope its better because i read once it reaches 70 degrees you can die from it because you loose lung capacity :( i hope its alot alot alot alot alot alot better :o

@bluejet2008 you cant die when it reeches 70 degrees, because mine is 70 degrees, the specialist told me its when its over 90 or 100 degrees.

Okay..So today I found out I have to get scoliosis surgery and I am sooo scared and I started crying as soon as I got home from the doctors..Anyways I hope to get through this with your help :) I will comment back to or you can e-mail me because I really need someone to talk to and go through this with me :P Anyways let me know if you get this :) btw I am 14.

glad yer dealing with it okay. i was screened and diagnosed in 8th grade, and though initially went to a doctor for evaluation, was never treated in anywya. I can see it has progressed since then to a moderate degree, and whish my parents had been more concerned about it at that time. Good luck

I had my surgery 8 weeks ago, and I am doing great, now back to school full time! When will you be needing surgery?

o really? were u in alot of pain? umm i dont have the exact date yet. i as told i needed it by my doctor.

uhm, right after surgery i was in some amount of pain, but it wasn't too severe. When i started moving for the first time it was quite painful, because so many muscles were cut, but the more times you do it, it will get better each time! Hopefully you will get a date soon!! I don't regret this surgery at all, and I would do it all over again if I had to! If you have any more questions, I'd love to help! (:
