The chorus in this song is so good that I can't bear it. They're the Scotish Smiths, without the credit. Frank Reader is a beautiful vocalist and lyricist and the band is just as impressive. Been a fan since 1990.
My absolute favorite band... Can't wait to see them in Boston this June! Will be my first TCS show!! I burned all the albums for my local drum store guy... out of the blue. He was super psyched! I think I'll see if he wants to go as my wife isn't too into them. Shame on you, Wife!!
@gabedestellano - I'll be there, probably on my own as my husband likes them, but not enough to go out that late on a school night. For the same reason, he missed last August's show. We should keep an eye out for each other - I'll buy you an (innocent) pint and we'll drink to our spouses - and to the Sinatras!
@gabedestellano - saw that, accepted the invite. TCS fans UNITE!
Anyway, sure - even if I find a friend or get my husband to come along on the night of the show, we should still make a little party of it. It'd be nice to talk to someone who is as much a fan as I am!
@gabedestellano - man, I'm hating the new YouTube page - I had to remove 6 copies of that last comment, because it wasn't showing up as posted, so I kept hitting 'post' over and over again. Anyway, you get what I'm saying. Jeez.
ive been a fan for 20 years. finally saw them in 2007. double door in chicago. great show. older tunes better than newer songs. they need to go back to their old ways. maybe look up ray schulman, old producer.
waooo yeahhh i love this band i found this band i knew the melody but no the name i remember when i had 16 year old now iam 30 year old special memories in my personal life ... thank you TCS
CziefWahoo - Don't quite know where you heard that this is a Smiths song but it's wrong. This is NOT a Smiths song. It's an original by TCS. Two very different musical sounds.
yup he and my dad were at uni doin teacher training. his son danni and i were in a band together. found one of their cds in the libriary so i thought id look them up here, seem a bit under-rated from what ive heard.
I agree, also my only favourite band, but one thing, the band has always been there it is us so called fans that left but now we are also back to stay FOREVER! XOXOXOXO
I know what you mean also, with over 18,000 vids watch i am not wrong about LOVING this band, one more time, at 3:00 altogether now DO,DO,DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.........................
Attention All TCS Fans, You've got to hear this guitar playing right at the end of the song, just about minute 3:42-3:47, if you cannot hear it on this vid please get your Cake cd out, it's just FANTASTIC,I LOVE this band so much, even though i'm a accordian hasbeen, i'm going out and getting myself a guitar so i can strum along,Thank You all who have ever posted anything TCS related, Love Tuija xoxo
tuijatrivun: to weird walt winkel or anyone who may know, where can i see or hear the song Half an apple, i've searched everywhere, thanks. Just finished watching some vids, what a beautiful band, please TCS come back to Canada very soon, Luv, xoxo
Seems like I saw them at Necterine Ballroom in Ann Arbor in Jan or Feb of 1991. Great concert, just not 100% on the location. Perhaps it was St. Andrews but I don't think so.
TCS were great when I saw them in 1990 or '91 (can't remember now). Cake was an awesome album. They used to get a lot of play on WHFS in Annapolis, MD back then. I saw them in Baltimore. I remember the show was cancelled and rescheduled because the lead singer had scratched his eye. They came back the next month. Very loud, especially in a small club like Max's on Broadway. Man, this reminds me of when I was 29........
I've been a TCS fan since Cake came out,I've worn out one cassette and am now wearing out my cd.When is TCS coming to Canada, hurry i've only been waiting for 17 years.
Love them. They're still here, long after a lot of their contemporaries and influences. "Half an Apple" is one of the most beautiful songs you will ever hear, their collaboration track on "Ballads of the Book."
Fell in love with the song and the video the first time I heard/saw them. At the time I thought Trashcan Sinatras was the coolest, most fitting band name ever.
