  • I gotta say, your vids are worth watching just to check out all the homemade tools you have built (and not necessarily the one you're working on either; other ones keep popping in and out as you work.) Impressive.

  • Another great build! Thanks for posting the video - looking forward to seeing a few of those electronics projects popping up on your site!

  • @MickeyGee33 Thanks, I appreciate the comment.

  • That is a great tool. Thanks for posting the video. I'm going to build one.

  • @Jay2525Jay Thanks! I'll be uploading 3 more videos with build details on this today. Not 100% complete instructions, but gives some more information, to go along with the website article.

  • EXCELENTE VIDEO Y ENLACE, CON ESTE PRINCIPIO O EJEMPLO SE PUEDE HACER UNA MAQUINA PARA HACER CAJAS (CAJA Y ESPIGA).

    GRACIAS.

  • @PZERGYO Thanks!

  • Very nice. It looks like the guide rails are dovetail shaped. Do you have a way to adjust 1 of the blocks for wear? Also, what are you using to lubricate the guide, parafin wax?

  • @deezynar Thanks! The full-dovetail can be adjusted to take up wear and the lube I used was petroleum jelly (vasoline). I find that wax sticks a bit before it starts to move, and that would drive me crazy.

I just added a link to the article on my site - there's a full write up (with lots of pictures) there.

Thanks. It seems that Vaseline would collect saw dust, but I have no experience w/ it in the shop. I need to spend some time on your web site, you do some really worthwhile work. Please understand that when I design and make something, I'm always second guessing the choices I've made. Since I question my own designs, I just extend that to questioning what other people do too. No offense is intended, just an exchange of ideas.

  • @deezynar No problem. All good comments, positive or negative (if they are pointing out a valid concern) are very welcome. I like some lively discussion and I'm certainly not always right or infallible.

The vasoline doesn't so much sit on the surface, but penetrates a bit and makes the wood slippery. There's no great amount of it to collect dust, and if there was, it's just to wipe it off. It also seals the wood a bit, so it doesn't come and go so much.
