I noticed on the sound equipped SD60I I bought that if you take clear tape and place it underneath the three rear fans that it actually makes the engine sound much louder.
You need a better camera. I watched a handful of videos and the focus goes out so much. Way too much. It would require a better camera or editing to cut away all that bad focus. It makes your videos quite hard to watch. Just a suggestion man.
Is the Athearn SD70ACe better than the MTH SD70ACe? I heard that the Athearn is lighter than the MTH and this may lead to derailments or not able to pull as many rolling stock.
I prefer the Athearn mostly because of the detail and sound. It could almost pass as brass in my opinion... Both models have their flaws: MTH with the motor, and athearn with the sound, but with a little work, both are great! From what I hear, Athearn will be fixing the speaker problem and also the front truck.

If you are from the suburbs and you are loosing ur home and job thank the republican party. thye have openly declared war on the poor , middlw class and us soldiers and lower middle class. Thye have tried to take away VA benifits, unemployment and health care.
@ussoldierrail I have four of these along with a long list of defects from CHINA ATHEARN products I have a set of tools just for my republican athearn products. In OHIO at least the democarts, unions, poor and working class are fighting back now we crushed Senate bill 5 from that low life John K a geroge bush friend who made millions of illegal cash off our backs. Same as the banks billions of stolen money and the republicans gave it all back plus what u woe? yes I am soldier my son too
The last item that has been an issue is the end handrails, they seem to not be shaped properly and don't fit/line up the way they are supposed to be. In order to make them fit I would have to bend the plastic to get them in the correct way. I'll have to contact Athearn to see what they think.

I have one set of magnetic ones and just got a new set that was on sale, but isnt magnetic. I just grabed the closest one and it happened to be the new one..
I know haha ive considered it.. I just have to build up the nerve to take one of these apart. Theres so much detail ime afraid it would be hard to reinstall..
nice i might have to consider doing that if i get one. oh and just if you would like to know i belive that blowerthing in the back is the dynamic brake just if you where wondering.
