Hellishly difficult piece. For whatever minor flaws that were made while performing, this performer's sheer audacity and high skill level at tacking this piece more than makes up for any deficits. A commendable attempt by any standard.

when i hear ernst , the fact that someone could even compose it on the violin is far more impressive than hearing and seeing it performed. props to the composer

Just modify a piano concerto, and only simplify it enough so its BARELY easier than impossible. I have the sheet music to la ultima and I sampled it on piano. It feels like a beginner piece and sounds better than it does on violin.

Amazing violinist... mostly clear passages, specially the pizz. A few little problems on the harmonics but Omg that part is so hard. His interpretation is not my taste but thats the way he feels it. Every violinist has his own interpretation, what counts is that he is an amazing violinist.
