  • sweet momma!!!!!!!! soooo sweet. same vocal tone as Layne.

  • What makes it so bad is the camera is picking it up from where this person recorded it from. It is very rude and irritating though, I agree! Hate to say it, but I have yet to go to a concert where people didn't talk. What I find equally offensive is the stupidity of a "mosh pit".

  • She's really a pretty good singer! Now i know why Layne has that unique voice and the talent. What a great mother doing that, i admire her so much! R.i.P Layne!

  • @yerkil28 I believe the closest thing to that was Layne with Ann Wilson of Heart on "Ring Them Bells" great duet...

  • those people in the crowd need to shut up while she is singing

  • She's a strong lady for coming up and doing that.

I'm sure she knew some people were going to be shitheads.

Knowing someone is going to disrespect your lost son, and going

up there anyway, that takes strength!!!

  • She should be the new AIC singer not this duvall fuck up

  • I Can't Believe what those people were doing!!

    That is so disrespectful!

Those were not real fans, those were rude and stupid people...

Her Voice is so beautiful, like the attitude that she had there!

Thanks Nancy, for being the excelent mother and the great person that you are!

  • blows my mind how fucking direspectful people can be

  • those were not aic fans, they were linkin crap and justin beaver fans! :(

  • How cool of her to sing his song in his remmberance?

  • Great voice! I love how someone said in the video, "We know where he got his talent from."

  • I fucking agree. What is wrong with all these people here fucking laughing and talking the whole time. Fucking go home.

  • Sorry a bit behind. I will answer questions soon. For now, I'm sharing something passed on from Laynes Mom:

There will be a public memorial for Mike Starr @ the Seattle International Fountain @ Seattle Center 3/20 @ 4pm per Layne Staley's Mom Nancy. Thanx, Nancy! ♥

  • she sounds amazing, bless u nancy ur a wonderful lady xxx

  • I could not imagine the pain of losing a child. I do however know the pain of addiction as a former addict. Alice in Chains is my favorite band. They were there with me through my drug use. I feel each song personally. I hope to never see my kids go through that. Now we have lost Mike Starr too. I will be praying for his family and friends to find some peace in this tragedy. If what Nancy is doing helps even one person get clean, it is all worth it. God bless you Nancy. I miss Layne 2

  • I can't believe there are people talking when she's singing this song.

  • I Cry when i see and hear this...

    It's beautiful!

  • Its pathetic how disrespectful these a-holes are! why are they attending this if they aren't hardcore fans? another disgusting display by my fellow Americans.....NOT proud to be an American!

  • today i was thinking how layne would sounds with female armonies, wondering why there's not a song with a woman singing with him at the same time, and then i watch this, not only a woman, his own mother, thank you so much nancy thank you so much layne

  • now we know where layne got his voice!

  • holy shit i just realized its laynes birthday thats fuckin weird.

  • beautiful

  • Not to mention every time I see her sing this live I get all teary-eyed...... :D

  • I was actually one of the lucky people that actually got to see this show, and it was pretty damn good, the problem was that there were a LOT of hipsters there that year and most of them were busy not shutting up rather than enjoying the show. I've attended the tribute twice now, and each time is amazing. I think what nancy does is probably one of the most important things anyone can do. She doesn't push her beliefs on people, accepts them at face value, yet helps SOOO many people.

  • my god... i've got shiver ... touching moment... miss you Layne....

  • If I was there, I would have punched everyone who was talking/laughing while she was singing this song... how f***ing rude.

  • @MX1eleven

I would love to help you in that with pleasure !

  • @MX1eleven I wonder if there is a way to clean up the sound? I can't do it but there has to be someone out there who can......

  • Nancy, your son has impacted my life so much in a positive way i miss this music so much. I carry it with me always, thank you for your son and howhe has influenced our community, thank you

  • Nancy This is John Kingsley, and I was blown away by your beautiful voice. I am with my son now in Eastern Washington. I wanted to say I knew Layne got his voice from somewhere. Thanks for sharing the lovely pipes. I miss Layne. I miss talking with you too. Thanks for being my strength you are a wonderful soul....All the best John Kingsley

  • This is beautiful... and think is so hard for Layne´s mother do this... and this is a way to show all her love... and a way to try to heal her pain and to keep alive Layne´s memory. I want to go to Seattle someday... it´s a dream for me... i hope in a near future. Thanks for post this!!...

  • Absoluteley Beautiful . I have seen previous vids of this from years past. "Wake up" is my favorite song and the Mad season album is Epic. God Bless Layne, and his beautiful mother for the wonderful things she does. I hope to move to Seattle someday (don't have enough $ now). but I will definiteley attend one of these benefit shows in Layne's name. God Bless Layne and his wonderful Mother. Just Beautiful. Kudos to the Layne Stayley foundation, his family and fans.
