I have nothing but respect and admiration for a genius like Bach, just for creating this masterpiece, and I say masterpiece not in the genius-mind-technical-virtuoso side of things, the feeling, the beauty crafted in this song is beyond words...sublime.
Nice recording -- please post details (e.g. orchestra/soloist). Thanks. Strange final cadence, though; I've never heard that resolution -- the score (unless there's some variant I'm unaware of) should conclude on C (Dominant) in preparation for return to F minor.
Even before I knew who Bach were I liked him. My parents often played classical music during my childhood and I sometimes went: Hey I like that music. My parents would often tell me; it's Bach. Today Bach is among my absolute favorites along with Vivaldi, Mozart, Händel, Telemann and others.
Could do with some nice thick bass lines and a gang of tv's doing the can can with a few lasers and maybe Mother Mary can ride thru on a wild mustang singing yeeehaaa
Well, maybe not this, but if i listen to the concerto for harpischord in d-minor and the toccata and fugue for organ, also in d-minor, it almost sounds like a long electrical-guitarsolo :-) Bach is amazing!

I'll play this in my wedding, the perfect song for a perfect moment in life, and the perfect woman.

@aglareth
Believe it or not, I played it at my OWN wedding, while my wife-to-be walked down the aisle. You're right: this is perfect music for the occasion.

As the matter of fact, it is. What do you prefer? Shitney Spears?

It's mood music only in your popped out, rocked out little minds.
wcbroccoli 2 years ago
What's idiotic is that you actually think you're paying Bach a compliment by calling this mood music.

Bach woke up one day and said to himself, "I'm going to write some mood for the pop music and rock music addicts of the 21st century."
