It happens that muscles was the name of MJ's pet snake, which could be a metaphor for his "trouser snake", and when she sings "I want muscles", she could very well be singing about wanting MJ's "snake", and not some muscular guy. Apparently some people missed the "joke". I do think they had some sort of special relationship and that's my 2 cents

He said in his book " Moon walk" that he wote this song about his pet snake " Muscles' and decided to give it to Diane> Since he felt indebted to her for all she had done for him. ejoy the Bloody song and if you didnt like it. @pietertothemuze I'll share what I can imagine....MJ, who loved Diana, wrote a song for her, in which she would sing about her desire for "muscles". It happens that muscles was the name of MJ's pet snake, which could be a metaphor for his "trouser snake", and when she sings "I want muscles", she could very well be singing about wanting MJ's "snake", and not some muscular guy. Apparently some people missed the "joke". I do think they had some sort of special relationship and that's my 2 cents

This video is yet ANOTHER example of how shitty MTV was in 1982 for not playing CLASSIC black soul artists' videos. This video alone (regardless how "cheap" it looks) was better than over half of MTV's shitty playlist at the time.
