regardless of this incident, she is the greatest female player in the history of golf, and one of the greatest in golf in general. She was to noble to every try and play in a men's tournernment because it would be a circus and she knew thats not what golf is about, but I honestly think at her height she could have been competive, maybe not won but finish in the top ten or top five.
Karrie Webb the other player in the divot fiasco had too much to say and would have been rubbing her hands together with glee seeing two strokes taken off Annika.
Annika is an honest player and admitted her mistake and took the penalty which was a rediculous 2 strokes. Honest mistakes like this only deserve a 1 stroke penalty.
She "should" have know the rule. Also fellow players have to enforce or at least be critical if a rule have or might have been broken, since they are responsible for the other players in the field, that the rules are enforced. And finally honest or dishonest mistakes, the penalty is the same. It would be unfair to the other players in the field that "lack of rules knowledge" is penalised easier.
..got sorenstam's (first name) autograph recently, heard her shout fore somewheres on the back nine, gave her an old clipping to sign, poignant but she was unimpressed
My daughter idolized you. Now she shaved her hair and quit school says she wants to cheat her way through life like Annika. Nice job.

Can't improve your lie but you can move leaves and stuff... Keeping with tradition is one thing but contradiction in rules is just wrong.

shame on her ! I hope she will go to the church to do penance for this apocalyptic trespass ... god bless the mighty rules of golfing!

Golf has some really dumb rules. You can move the ball away from a man made obsticle, yet can't move a ball out of a divot. Isn't a divot man made???

she still swings the club better than anybody in the world.....

@Yoseman1 A divot is a moveable obstacle, whereas you get relief from immovable ones.

Stupid mistake? She improved her lie. She was trying to pull a fast one on her fellow competitors and she got caught like a homeless prostitute.

With all the people that are standing around looking at her? No way she cheated intentionally...it was a mistake, she's only human

She did play in a men's event, don't know if you're sayin she didn't. Also Sorenstam couldn't compete on the Nationwide Tour.
