I personally think they both require the same amount of talent. Only different kinds of talent. But really... Is animation about THAT? Because I thought it was for entertainment... That's why I animate at least... Not because it takes talent but because it entertains people and that's what really matters. It doesn't matter how much talent it takes... If it looks the same on screen and entertains people just the same who gives a shit?

TISFAT does require quite a bit of effort. Ask Rhan. His latest animation (Rhan's Obliteration) took him 4 months! And not just 4 months of animating a little bit at a time. That's 4 months of working his ass off every day. TISFAT definitely takes effort as opposed to contrary belief. In fact many flash animators that tried TISFAT said it was actually "Too hard" to use. I'm not saying pivot is easy compared to it... Pivot is backbreaking sometimes. TISFAT appeals to me more which is why I use it

that brings up a funny story on how i discovered any of this but yes i saw Rahns Obliteration and it was great. Pivot is simple, but it takes alot of patience and effort to make long smooth videos.. (not that i know, mine aren't that good xD). i looked at tisfat and while i did no experimenting with it i already know its more complicated then pivot, which leads me to believe (do correct me if i'm wrong) that it'd take less time to make a smooth video then it would with pivot?

It's a motion tweening based program so yes it's very easy to make a smooth animation. But challenges present themselves in other ways. Physics and easing are harder in TISFAT and overall control of the stickman is harder. There is no onion skinning either which is a real pain sometimes. It's extremely efficient and MUCH faster than pivot or flash if you have the patience to get used to it. I do use flash occasionally though. But for big projects I usually use a mixture of both TISFAT and Flash.

I dont know i might be able to get used to one but i'm a little impatient and still dont take animating seriously enough, thankfully i'm taking a 3D animation class either next semester or next year and boy will that be fun... There's different things that are better about each program. For example, Pivot is really easy to understand, however it's hard to make it smooth and it's a pain to make good stick files(oh wait, it's hard on both...oops.) and on TISFAT it's a bit more complicated, a bit more towards flash stuff but not entirely impossible to learn. If you just understand keyframes, you can make them rlly well, but it takes forever and shortcuts r hard. It's personal preference, like EZthunder123 sed.
