@deriktutt - I'm assuming that your web host "hides" your .htaccess file. Depending on the type of FTP software used, u might be able to "show hidden files". Or, use web hosting "File Manager" to view files, and in the options, "show hidden files".
or, contact your host and ask why you can't see it. If there really isn't one, then you could just upload a blank notepad file, and rename it .htaccess - however, don't do that unless you've verified with your host that one does not really exist.
Man, I am stuck. I ripped down my site and did everything over again and there's still not .htaccess file. I don't want to even start to build the site with the default structure of the links in place.
