It's very solid, all metal. It will hold a 60D and help to stabilize it. The counterweight won't be very effective if you have too much weight on the front.

The 60D is small compared to high end video cameras and it's even small compared to a 5D mkII.
Should be fine I think but maybe not if you stack a ton of accessories on it, i'm just speculating though.
