ESTO ES UN SUPER CLASICOTE DE LA EPOCA FULL 80s ,STEREO 1.95FM , MIXEADO EN BIG APPLE 2 ORIGINAL ,EXCLUSIVIDAD MY FRIEND ,THANKS ,POR ESTE VIDEOTE MI HERMANO ,TE FAJASTE EN VERDAD ,MERCI
The beat of this music is definitely something I've never expected Pat Simmons to perform, I pictured this song being a midtempo pop song or a slightly slower song.
I always have enjoyed this 1983 pop song, has that funky rhythm guitar and bassline, along with those "Doobiesh" vocals, an excellent 80's pop song, no doubt about it!!
Great video. I can relate, although I'm admittedly biased to digital. But, this doesn't mean that I don't enjoy analogue; I enjoy analogue and play cassettes and vinyl on my Sony ES system.
My beef are with idiots on YouTube that have to be jerks just because we don't have something that looks "modern," like Bose all-in-ones or other garbage.
I have a video that shows my gear and I'm becoming more inclined to just tell some of the idiot critics to go to hell.
I didn't say anything about how the equipment sounds. I thought the video was great and more innovative than most here on youtube. I'm just partial to tube gear I guess. My vinyl comment was directed towards fins5's inquiry.
Oh, sorry then, I must have mis-interpreted what I read. Thanks for the compliment, I don't have much experience with tube equipment. It's hard enough keeping the older transistorized equipment going!
But where is the tube equipment? Technically almost all of the units you show are tranistor-based. The elements that are analog have no bearing on the sound(a vu meter, a scrolling tape-deck counter, etc.). One more thing..."audiophile" aren't returning to vinyl...they never left vinyl.
You're right, I don't have any tube equipment to film though. Once again, the video is just showing the equipment working, that's what I meant by soul. I can't really show it's sound. Must you really pick apart all these trivial technicalities?
Macdude , I understand exactly what you're saying with this video . I am of an older generation and i had great quality analogue gear. My turntable alone cost me $500 in 85. Analogue has warmth that digital can never compete with . Even watching a turntable spinning while music plays is theraputic . Who wants to stare at a black box. Every time I play a record I want to relax and stare at it . With an CD I just want a few seconds and then on to the next track .
I did not even thought that way fuzzywzhe did..I only had eye for the vintage units doin thir thing with this nice song.I could watch it in an endless repeat..It make me happy!
The days of expensive styling and "quality comes first" are long gone (not including the audiophile area). I'm not trying to bash anything, I just thought a video of some older gear in action would be cool. If I wanted to try and prove analog's "warmth", why would I have bothered with a video? I would have posted a sound file. Man, can I say ANALOG these days without being ridiculed?
Dude, what you are referring to is "warmth". I'm not sure why exactly you're trying to start an argument here. I never said anything negative about digital products.
I wasn't even talking about the sound when I used the term "soul". I was referring to the equipment used. You don't see too many compact disc/dvd players with rack mount handles and large sweep meters.
That's true, you don't have much of a choice, but I'd like to point something out. The reason "analog has soul" is that you hear distortion which gives it "soul". With a vinyl record, for example, the music will sound different depending on where it's physically placed on the record. As the needle gets closer to the center, high frequency pitches are intentionally dropped to keep the needle in the track. You're complaining about fidelity improvements.
I loved this song!

Excellent, Macdude! I really enjoyed this. Analog DOES have soul, in a way no mp3 unit or CD player can match.
And to fuzzywzhe, why do you suppose audiophiles are returning to turntables? Just a thought...

Isn't there some level of irony calling this "Analog has soul" when it's an entirely digital presentation?
fuzzywzhe 4 years ago
Well unfortunately in a time where the only practical way of showing people the presentation is digital, what other choice did I have?
