BOPE is a special police from RIO DE JANEIRO .. But in SÃO PAULO we have GARRA it's a dagneours police too .. I prefer SWAT (USA) they're better,fast and smart .. But bope's a very good police too

Dude, BOPE rocks!! I 'm living in Brazil right now (not rio, for Christs' sake) and they are very important to maintain 'order' int he favelas. By order I mean avoiding a civil war!! Statistically speaking, for every gun BOPE apprehends, three new ones are already there to take it's place. Their training is insane. I think the only special operations force that can top them is SWAT (from the USA, duhh). I'm talking about police forces, don't come saying the marines are better, I know they are!!

@naal13 BOPE is very different from any other elite force out there. They are trained specifically for favela warfare and urban warfare (they are literally fighting a war), so nobody will be able to top them at that especifical type of warfare. SWAT on the other hand, specializes with counter - terrorism and high risk operations such as rescuing hostages.

Sure, some elite forces are better than others, but all the top 10 have their specialty that nobody can top.

You´re right and you´re not dude. BOPE does indeed specialize in urban warfare, but there training also involves other areas of combat, and such training is insanely hard. BOPE also does counter terrorism in Brazil, seeing as they´re the brazilian swat. sure their training focuses even more in urban warfare, but the training they receive in the other areas of combat still tops many other special forces out there. But not SWAT!! 8)
