I'm surprised the police were not on scene for traffic control. My first due area that I work in can be pretty rough, glad none of the GFD guys got hurt. If we called for the cops for something like that they would definitely be bringing an ass kicking with them. You gotta expect the unusual.

O.K. let me give you the stats, for along time Gary was the murder capital of the U.S. per capita, the population was 102,746 at the 2000 census and the city has a total area of 57.2 square miles. There are 218 (I think) police left for the entire city due to budget cuts and the Officers are quiting because of the everyday crap. It is hard for them and to be honest sad, I uderstand what your saying, trust me. Just hard for them right now

That photo is just the Firefighters wrapping-up at the end of the fire, just the guys having some fun. The reason for all the police was the Fire Department requested them to expedite due to the gun. Gary was short handed so a call went out to surrounding departments for help
