my guess is that their mom/dad never taught them how to do anything when they were young, always did it for them (oh the love they showed), so as adults they are completely crippled with ordinary cleaning, but that's just a guess.
HA HA LOVE THE WALL MART BAG; AT LEAST NOW YOU KNOW after going to that people of wallmart website, how the creature features prefer to decorate their lavish apartments
My sister and husband are somewhat hoarders. Every corner of home is filled with stuff. Stuff is however organized in some manner. Too bad they have a roach problem and won't spray even if I buy the spray and take it to them. If I spray, they get mad. Under the sink was a huge (and I mean HUGE) spider that killed roaches. Roach carcuses were 4 inches deep under the sink...yikes.
I think this is a problem all across America. I know a lot of people with houses that are messy, but most don't have food trash in the house, just a clutter.
it took me 3 days no sleep to clean my sisterin law's place she had 5 piles of clothese in the garage i washed it all. and the house. child protection was going to take the kids. i'm glad i helped. eventually they took the kids anyway. it's awful if you even tried to help a relative. you have no imagine how awful it is. it's a nightmare. i'm a clean person and can't imagine living that way...
I have to clean and clean and clean. My husband is a hoarder/slob who tricked me into believing he was a "neat freak". It's rubbing off on my kids who throw their dirty and clean clothes and candy/food wrappers on the floor as they eat. I hate it!
you need to put your foot down and create expectations, then make clear consequences when the expectations arent met. have your husband back you up where the kids are concerned. and really express to him, not in anger , how his habits have a bearing on your happiness and your not willing to sacfafice your sanity just because hes lazy and thinks the little things are trivial.
hes one of the adults that is obligated to set a good example for the kids. i have had the same expirience as you have
i truelly believe that this is child abuse and neglect. its not a nice environment and risks their health.what a sad way to grow up says alot about their parenting ways.its gross the government should come and find them decent homes until they get their act together....
omg! they have kids living there. Thats enough to have social services come their way. It happened to a girl i worked with. it's not funny I hope it has not boiled down to that. Their kids must stink when they go to school and lose their homework. To bad.
These people are not pigs, they're human beings. I've seen a lot worse in other YT vids. This case isn't the worst, but it's pretty bad anyway. I hope they get help.
@coysraye3 My mother was like this. She would buy cleaning products all the time with good intentions and then get overwhelmed and couldn't do it. She'd spend a day or two trying to clean, then give up. We found boxes and boxes of cleaning products when she died.
This is a mental illness, closely related to OCD and depression. Medication and behavioral therapy is the only way to address this. Unfortunately I have friends like this and their house is well on the way to becoming much worse than this video.
No. Spouse and I have decided to be careful about interfering in their marriage. They have a baby, but at present the house's condition does not pose a threat to the baby's health. It has been improving in the past few months -- the baby seems to have been a catalyst for improvement.
Yes it is very hard to explain. I think my hoaring issues came from grandparents who were raised in the depression. It passed own to both my parents and then to me. We have all tried to clean up, but it takes forever because every thing you try to disgard is attached to the past which WAS BETTER. Before Globalism and when American families were important. I belive hoarding is a way people hold on to the good old day, but not in a good way.
Have you made any progress in freeing yourself of all the stuff/junk? I hope so. Do you ever just want to get on a plane and never see the stuff again and start a new live in Guam? Or NYC?
I'm shocked. You mean that the state will take your kids away from you if your a slob? This just looks like a house with a lot of kids living in it to me. If there was animal waste all over the place I could understand. But this is just bad house cleaning.
There are no blankets on the beds. Mold on the bathroom floor. Filth and grime everywhere. BTW, I don't seen anywhere that indicates the children were removed from the home. I could see the parents being forced to grow up and clean up.
i can play this song on guitar hero 3 lol

Two Signs You May Be a Hoarder:
I. In any given room, there is no available "walking" space i.e: visible flooring
2. There are some items in your home that, in their current state, can not be used for what they are designed for- sink, toilet, bed

I would never imagine choosing "paint it black
" would work so well as background music for a hoarding expose.
Normally the Rolling Stones classic accompanies soldiers jumping out of helicopters in Nam.
But the song really works, especially as I can't see a single open window in that house.
