  • I just gotta say... never use the prequel movies for reference. I mean really, I just use the general story to get an idea on timeline. otherwise please... use books and comics. They make more sense and generally are more interesting. They present the characters much better. I mean, in one book i got more true character from Anakin than i did in all of the prequel movies. So yeah, screw the movies. Use the books. At least Lucas didnt write them

  • BTW the planets in the solar sistem move.

I mean they change location!!!So the coordinats is boolshit!!!

  • To be fair with Padme's reaction to Anakin's genocide, he is a jedi, so in some way his actions can be more "justified".

  • Nothing worst than someone thinking is smarter thant the guys that have create star wars ....

  • @TheStarDeth LOL THE GUYS THE GUYS

the prequels were all 1 man 1 fucking man

everyone else just did what he said and those movies fucking SUCK

  • @walmartian555 Heu they dont fucking suck like you said , they have not the same feeling of the first trigoly but they have their own style that i find attractive. Sure the acting seems cold but i think its because their are in a world more civilised like obi wan said in the new hope so its not in the same time people were different. I like the fact that in the prequel and the original have they own style and feel different.

  • @walmartian555 You should make a movie with confusedMattew im really sure it will be awsome....

  • Padme was 15 and in this one is 25 not the same age

  • Hey in Phantom menace Anakin have kill the ship that control the robot idiot !

  • I can't stress this enough, why couldn't George Lucas have gotten different directors for the Prequels? He did for Empire and Jedi.

  • Great review! Can you do the new Star Trek please?

  • you're overthinking this too much. Makes me like the movie all that much more. The film's a "meh" film (especially compared to films like Green Lantern, Last Airbender, and Jonah Hex combined) and when we get to Episode 3, the film is critically better than Jedi. And the Force evolved over the course of the EU as being both super powers AND spiritual guidance. The more you overthink something, the more you're just going to rag on everything and embody the reason society is in the shit can..

  • Lucas, go the a bunch of stinky farmanimals and fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck!!!!

  • Obi-Wan looks bored because he was in blue screen at the time. He wasn't hanging from wires above a city, he was standing on a blue mat.

  • As I've commented in another video, it is just shocking how idiotic Lucas' approach to the Annakin character was. It seemed there were two ways to approach it: 1) Make him genuinely noble, so his dark turn would be tragic. 2) Make him genuinely commanding/iconic, like Vader, so the audience can't help but think he's awesome despite any character flaws.

Lucas did neither, and clearly thought a metrosexual boy-band image would be good because boy-bands were popular at the time. Incompetence.

  • @WastedPo nothing wrong with the character, but the actor. They do the EXACT same character in Clone Wars, yet THAT version of Anakin is someone everyone actually can get behind! Hell, even Kevin Smith said it (biggest cynical filmmaker of all): Who you THINK the greatest bad guy of all time would start as? An emo kid with issues, that despite trying to do the right thing, you're eventually pushed into those darker intents. It's the biggest DERP of all. A Mary Sue isn't going to turn evil.

  • Harrison Ford even admitted that George Lucas can't write dialogue.

  • @BoukenCrimson Even George HIMSELF admitted at his Lifetime achievement award in 2005 he can't write dialogue! He's head writer on Clone Wars now, but all he does is plot. His daughter and about 6 others actually do the writing. So give him credit, he DID smarten up his act in that regard.

  • @BoukenCrimson Yeah just like Liam Neeson admitted the script for The Phantom Menace was terrible

  • I am going to watch George Lucas vs. the People ,it is going to be fun .

  • The Prequel trilogy got me to like and root for the Empire. If anything else he seem to improve the mess of the Government of the prequel films.

  • @Se7enBeatleofDoom Yeh you have a point. If anything the empire is the republic's punishment for being the most incompetent and ineffective government in the universe.

  • The fucking library.

  • Maybe Anakin had to have SERIOUS training and wasnt allowed to so his mawmmy for a LONG time. And he was just recently given the jedi license and could go. HMM :)

  • too bad the prequel trilogy are not good in story line, dialogue, and what's with the special effect, wow, too bad, I really dissapointed, well Revenge of the Sith is better than Attack of the Clones, but still, it just doesn't make any sense for the whole Package of the trilogy

  • @drzabogar Sith is actually overall better than Jedi, and even most naysayers secretly like it and it is comparable to the originals. The prequels PLOT wasn't bad, nor execution because the cinematography is amazing, and he WAS pioneering the CG which by today's standards is pretty bad (but not back then). No. What was bad was his choice of actors to play Anakin (both are bad), Jar Jar Binks (nuff said), and dialogue. Had George did what he's doing with Clone Wars now = better. period

  • If they were padmes bodyguards than why would she be in an open room with huge see through plain glass windows?

  • The Jedi can only act within Republic space, since Tatooine is in the Outer Rim and not part of the Republic, it is outside their official jurisdiction.

This makes sense because Obi-Wan said the Jedi were guardians of peace and justice IN THE OLD REPUBLIC

  • @MegaAchilles23 You'd think theyd still wanna try with their philosophy

  • @zzyzx0788 sky car chasing was much more fun in lair of the shadow broker

  • Obi Wan goes to the library after he gets the information about Kamino from dexter because, let me give you an example, if you ask a friend where something came from, and they say its from some city in africa and give you the exact longitude and latitude off the top of their head, are you just gonna go to the longitude and laditude or are you gonna look it up on google earth to make sure it's not in the middle of the ocean or something.

  • The force doesn't randomley attach itself to people, several jedi recruters (jedi who find force-sensitive children and take them from their parents to be trained) make the point that a being has chosen the life of a jedi by being born force sensitive. In other words, at some point before life they make a conscious decision to be a jedi. That was different for anakin considering the fact that he was conceived by dark alchemy performed by palpatine's master darth plageius.

  • Wow, she's heartless.

  • Just one thing, why does the force need balancing, how with the "chosen one" do it and how the hell will it be diffrent?

  • @SamMerrell1 they actually explain this in Clone Wars: The Light Side and Dark Side of the Force are actually manifested for the first time into 2 siblings, light and dark, and only Anakin can temper them both. Despite the number of Jedi, the power and influence the Dark Side had over the galaxy (cynical society, what a shock) was beginning to take its hold, and only he could restore the neutrality between good and evil. He tastes both sides, and fufils this destiny in ROTJ

  • Now her reaction to this is different naturally as he has done something that really isn't understandable and he really doesn't give a dam or regret it! And like I say, even now, she STILL LOVES HIM AND WANTS HIM TO RUN AWAY WITH HER. So it's hardly a complete change in her character.

  • Goodness only knows how many lives he saved as a result of what he did and his killing of them displayed his anger at the unspeakable things that they did.

Compare that with episode 3 when he wipes out all the jedi who are his allies and for no reason other than a DREAM! And he doesn't even care or admit to his wrong actions. He just plans on doing more evil.

  • when anakin returns later, he has watched his mother die having been badly tortured, has heard of the atrosities committed by the tusken raiders on innocents, and in a moment of anger and hatred for those bastards, lost it and killed them. He wasn't thinking straight and is well aware of how horrendous his act was. He is devestated by what he did. The last thing he needed at this moment was to lose Padme. It's only natural that she understood and felt compassionate and forgiving.

  • What he did in episode 2 however, although wrong, was understandable! His mother was tortured for god knows how long before ending up dead and the tusken raiders were always torturing and killing innocents on tatooine! Cliegg Lars called them mindless monsters! I don't think the women can exactly be called innocent considering that they must have been aware of what the men were doing! Killing the children? YES, WRONG! AWFUL! BARBARIC! But understandable....

  • But here's the thing, even in episode 3 when she's upset at his behaviour, she still says "Stop, stop now come back, I love you!" Basically if Anakin had stopped at that moment and run away with her, she would have carried on loving him and forgiven him completely. So in a sense, her attitude to his deeds hasn't changed that much from episode 2, she was more upset this time because he not only didn't give a shit but was talking about overthrowing palpatine and ruling the universe.

  • I think Padme's reactions seem to be based more on Anakin's attitude than deeds I say this because in episode 2 she's really sympathetic about him killing those sandpeople and at this point he is upset and remorsefull for his actions whereas she gets upset in episode 3 when he doesn't seem to give a shit about the things he's done.

  • I've learned several things while watching these movies, including on how to make viewing them better:

    1. Mute ALL dialogue

    2. Skip to action scenes

    3. Watch while drunk or high, or both

    4. Bash head into wall

  • Lucas forgot what made the originals so amazing. It was about the characters, what they stood for and their relationships among other things. In the prequels, it's all about how much shit you can put on the screen.

  • @Drawnder

    maybe you're right

  • where's my pizza roll?

  • Anarkin proves himself to be a fascist, mass murdering, whining, jealous, narcisistic little shit.

Great characteristics for the main protagonist whom we are supposed to care about...?

And someone falling in love with this trainwreck of a human being...?

Did anyone read the script or watch the scenes as they were played out?

    Damn!

  • @auritone well the greatest villain of all time always starts as the emo kid with issues. Sees themselves justified over everyone else and in the right. Clone Wars (the voice actor is LEAGUES better than this douche) portrays Anakin with the same character, but better charisma and much more likeability for it than sounding bored. Just watch Clone Wars, CGI aside it legitimizes the whole prequels.

  • @SoraMatt Thank you for the recommendation, but I've unfortunately had my fill with Star Wars for a long time to come.

The only Star Wars allowed on my screen is if I feel like playing the old Knights of the Republic games. :)

  • @SoraMatt IT DOES??!!??!!

  • @superhuman295 yep. Mind you, in reference to Clone Wars, Start from Season 2 and only watch Season 1 if you're a fan. That season was still testing the CGI animation, but it mellows out in Season 2 and THEN starts getting fucking amazing by Season 3 and almost lifelike by Season 4. And NEVER watch it on TV, only get the DVDs unless you like being lost cause each arc's 4 episodes long with a filler between them to bridge the gap. All in all, Clone Wars makes the prequels tolerable

  • @SoraMatt i will. is it on hulu?

  • @superhuman295 couldn't tell you cause I bought the DVDs myself. You can check, lord knows you'll find something. But I saw your comments on Clone Wars pertaining to Anakin and Obi-Wan, which is where I stress to watch Clone Wars because after Anakin became a Knight, they were near equals and sort of had a Batman/Nightwing style relationship where they were friends, but have 2 different points of view, which really shows itself when we see that even OBI-WAN had a love interest.

  • I am in agony...ohh my too! On the human matter in the galaxy far, far away, remember that in THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK C-3PO calls Luke a human back on hoth.

  • I am in agony...ohh my too!

  • Omg I srsly agree that there is NO WAY Ooba Dooba would have ever fallen in love with this guy. He's a whiny brat and a total jerk. And a murderer of children.

  • Why the fuck was jar jar ever given a job in politics? I know he was a hero or some shit at the end of phantom menace but he's still a fucking moron.

  • The love dialogue in this film is in the same league as Moulin Rogue...

  • @laserwolf65 Obvious, troll is obvious.

  • @spooky57571 No, I like Confused Matthew a lot. It just so happens that I think that he's blinded himself to all the faults of Moulin Rouge, but he still criticizes other movies with the same faults.

  • Darth Moneydady, former director George Lucas ORGY_FUCKY!!!!!!

  • Chancellor PandaBear helped Anarchy to be together with UbaDuba.

  • At least the female Kaminoan was kind of hot.

  • these films are simply absurd. nuff said.

  • Pizza Rolls?

  • Lucas ORGY-FUCKS!!!!!!!!!

  • I LOVE THIS REVIEW! IT'S POWERFUL TONED AND WELL-POINTING!

  • "To be angry is to be human?" Hmmm....vacuous expression and she does not care!

  • @2112murphy I don't know. He might have but only temporarily. He was blinded by anger so he was acting irrationally. :/

  • Palpatine's behind it all!!!

  • Genocide? Really?

Genocide is the destruction of a planet (like what happened to Alderaan in A New Hope)

Anakin only killed a single tribe of Sand People >.<

  • @Boundwithflame23 I invite you to buy a dictionary, and search for the word genocide, before comment such stupidity.

  • @nicolashrv Oh I'm sooooooooooooooooooooo sorry for my mistake! >.<

  • @Boundwithflame23 Still he did commit mass murder

  • @KillaD15 Yes but he didn't wipe out the entire population :/ Just the tribe that killed his mother. Plus it was out of revenge and anger. I don't think Anakin technically turned to the dark side though.

By the way, when I made my initial comment I was extremely tired and angry at the poor quality of the review.

  • @Boundwithflame23 You've made a mistake, therefore I'm angry at the poor quality of all of your comments...

  • @xqtr74 You try typing a comment at 3 in the morning when you're half asleep and can't think straight. >.<

  • @Boundwithflame23 He still didn't regret it one bit. There's being pissed, and being remorseless

  • @gallileotheguineapig True but listen to the tone of his voice. :/ He sounded remorseful to me.

Whether you agree with me or not is up to you

  • @gallileotheguineapig I agree and here's the biggest issue I had with that scene the moment Christensen opened his mouth. WHY THE FUCK WOULD ANAKIN TELL HER ABOUT THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE! Number one any sane normal would've ran like hell away from him, and two I would've saved him revealing that to her until Episode III where it would've actually been more appropriate where it would've contributed to Anakin turning to the dark side and her considering leaving him.

  • @Boundwithflame23 I was simply stating it is what it is I don't blame Anakin for flipping out and killing everyone in the tribe I would've done the same thing if that happened to my mom. But he still committed mass murder plain and simple. Besides I think matthew was exaggerating when he said Anakin committed Genocide mass murder is much more appropriate.

  • @KillaD15 You do have a point

  • @KillaD15

    your right.

Genocide means killing of the entire race. And that didn't happen. because in epsiode 4 ("A new hope") the sand people are still around.

  • @TheSunmanho nazis committed mass genocide of Jews during World War 2. Jews are still around

  • @elcap22

    Nobodys perfect Lol

  • Did no one follow up on Anakin's little episode in the desert? You'd think Yoda might want to have word over the pain thing to find out what happened and when he learned I should think there would have some reprecussions of some sort.

However as far as I can tell nothing is ever mentioned about his slaughter again

  • I think it would be better to know what planet going towards AHEAD OF TIME, that way you can prepare. You know figure out what planet and then find out why someone from there did it. You know, have a plan.

Yeah these movies are shit, but I have to give that point a pass.

  • the reason oobadooba didn't care is becuz nobody cares about sand people

  • @starball23 The fact is that George Lucas and Steven Spielberg are good friends. George wrote the sandpeople that way for his Jew friend Steven. The Sandpeople are a metaphor for the Arabs, and since Arabs (Muslims) and Jews don't get along verry well he portrayed them as evil and barbaric characters. But he got censored for the prequels and the word Sand People was definitely banned and modified to Tusken Raiders.

  • he meets with what looks to be a deformed shapeless pile of cgi shit. hahaha. so true.

  • Here's one for you all. Bring balance to the first? Why? What was wrong with it in the first place?

  • I actually saw episode 1 Anakin grown up to this day, and I compared his acting with this Shit-for-brains Skywalker, and if George had just waited everyone would have been naturally aged and the story could have been thought over and could have made more sense, but George just wanted a few thousand dollars so this is what we got from him which is an epic failure.. T_T

  • This is tied with Twilight for worst love story EVER.

  • @hothotheat3000 Romeo and Juliet love story made more sense then this and Twilight. lol

  • @blackhole73 Alos Romeo and Juliet has hadicap of being satire of young people in love.

  • @blackhole73 dude, comparing this to Twilight is an offence. NOTHING, not even bad writing on Lucas' part (unintentional as it may be) compares to how awful Twilight is. See, especially when you broaden the canon to include Clone Wars, which Lucas is head writer for (though he doesn't write the dialogue episode to episode), THIS romance had breathing room and more logic than just "omfg he's hot because he looks at me weird!" Padme at least is a full character. And loyal too.

  • Palpatine did it all, he sold the coke, he delt the blow, he's the guilty one ! The Jedi order: The biggest assholes of the universe ! Never mind the blackhole of a plot, how old is Ubba dubba? She met child Anakin, then she meets him again when he's an adult, wtf is going on, she doesn't age, was she like 8, but a very tall 5 foot 8 year old girl, with breats, I guess that's possible, since she's an alien, but she thinks she's human, phew, makes my head hurt.

  • Comment removed

  • deformed shapeless pile of CGI shit!!! epic line

  • Silly Matthew... they're called younglings! Not children!

  • Owen Lars is not Shmi's son

  • shouldn't Jedi knights be a little bland?

Their suppose to love everything...but not give into their emotions.

As for anniking being older but not the queen...its the same reason why Kes on Star Trek Voyager is only Nine years old...each has different age patterns.

Who knows maybe she ages slower or tatooines ages quicker.

  • @StuffedAnimalAdvisor Except Kes is an Ocampa, and it's established that Ocampa have a natural life span of about a dozen years.

Whine-akin and Queen Clown there are both humans. There is no excuse.

  • In the older movies I remember Yoda being comical as well as wise and entertaining to watch as well as listen to. But in the prequals they made him boring, serious and to be honest not even that wise...just some time-filling retard who says the most unnecassary shit. And he's even worse in The Clone Wars.

  • 2:51 "A wizard did it " ROFL!!!

  • I didn't even see this movie. But how does it make Obi-Wan dumb to first confirm that the planet exists before going there? That sounds perfectly reasonable course of action to me. This by the way is all I see you doing in these reviews, but I had to stop there because it seemed like the worst case so far. For instance what's with the constant bashing of the jedi. How does the jedi being jerks necessarily constitute a fault with the movie.

  • @eggfinallap because in a new hope Alec guineas as obi wan said the Jedi were guardians of peace and justice in the old days so a lot of people have this image of them being great and wise warriors, and the Jedi are part of the film and are suppose to be the good guys but come across as cold and distance, that said i did like this film when it came out, the only one of the prequels but as time has gone on and i watch it again it does not age well, i can see the flaws more and more

  • @eggfinallap the jedi were assumed to be guardians of justice but the storyline of the prequels make them out to be clueless bumpkins who wouldn't go out of their way to help anyone if it didn't help them and the Republic. It practically makes Palpatine the hero to toss these useless prissy pricks. The Jedi should have freed anakin's mother if not pushed for an end to slavery. In the original 3 we have this feeling that Jedi were bold heroes but in the prequels they aren't much

  • Umm Anakin never committed genocide or mas murder

  • Actually if someone I barely knew told me they had murdered someone, I wouldn`t run frantically out of the room to call the authorities. I`d talk calmly for a minute then say I`ve got to go home now and walk calmly out of the place.

I don`t want to freak the murderer out by running out now do I?

  • How would destroying the Sith bring Force into balance?

Equal amount of Lightside and Darkside makes the Force in balance.

If there is no siths, there is only Lightside. AND THEN FORCE WOULDN'T BE IN BALANCE! FUCK JEDI LOGIC!

  • (continued from Part 1) I'm not going to try to explain Bhuddism here because it's too subtle and most Western people simply don't grasp what Bhuddism actually is. They hear the words of Bhuddists, misinterpret the words (thinking the words mean what Westerners interpret them usually to mean) and end up thinking Bhuddism is a negative life-denying/love-denying philosophy. Annakin is ruled by his desires and fears. He needs rather than loves others. He has no self control/inner balance.

  • @DOMuricu I'm Chinese, and my grandmother and aunt are both Buddhists. And yes, Buddhism -is- life-denying. It was founded by a disgruntled Hindu who was searching for a way to destroy his own immortal soul because he didn't want to be shackled to the wheel of Dharma anymore. The ultimate goal of Buddhism is a cosmic suicide in which one ends one's own existance utterly, now and forever. But it's not negative or positive. It simply -is-.

  • The romance was done poorly agreed I can't figure who ruined the character anakin was it the story writers and script writers or was it Hayden? Hmm

On issue of anakins killing spree, the sandpeople were not seen on the same level as humans they were more like wild animals than people so it's more like saying anakin killed a pack of wolves. Its mentioned by one of the characters that sandpeople aren't on the same level as humans

  • @lsaenz898 You mean like arabs here on earth? ;)

  • @BleakVision haha funny NOT

    you're a fucking racist

go back to your mud hut

  • @lsaenz898 come on even the past actor couldn't have made the as written Anakin good. He would be a whiny brat regardless of who played him because that's how his character was written. The prequels suffer more from bad writing than bad acting thought there is plenty of that too

  • @lsaenz898 If you really think about it though... the sand people are the most pitiful people on tatooine. They're one of two native sentient races that lived there before the other more advanced alien races came and pushed them deeper into the desert. Since then they have existed in a state of coldish war with the alien invaders (humans, hutts, gamorreans, etc).

And sand people -are- sentient, and not any stupider than humans. So why shouldn't their murder be condemned?

  • Whenever he says "UbaDooba" I laugh my heart out!

  • So if you don't want the Jedis to know about a planet that any experienced spacefarer can recognize from their darts... that's making an army big enough for the whole Republic... all you have to do is delete the planet from their archives? Ha.

  • Why would Jango hire someone else to do HIS job? can't he kill Amidala himself? Also why use a droid carrying poisonous snails when you can rig it with explosives or have it shoot Amidala through the window. Hell, he could have easily fly by himself, shoot her, and fly off.

  • @Doperwtje81 I remember a time when movies were all about entertainment.

  • see, yoda has medichlorean C all other's have medichlorean B and Anikan has medichlorean A, i can see it cuz i'm medichlorean positive

  • anikin and yoda have a stronger command of the force then most jedi at the time

  • @cartergamer1 Hey, given your statement, I really want to ask you: what does that mean exactly? Within the context of the movies, that is, I don't want references to video games or novels. Within the universe of the movies (prequels), they never EVER explain what, as you say, "having a stronger command of the force" means. I'm really really curious since you never see Yoda or Anakin do anything above and beyond what the rest of the Jedi do.

  • @duderseb they could use more force powers then the rest of the jedi... it wasnt really used in the movies, but it is well stated in the rest of the star wars universe...

  • @cartergamer1 Hmmm... I see, it's a definite shame that it is never made clear in the movies, leaving the rest of us to wonder.

  • @duderseb that one of the many reasons why the prequels were bad.

  • @cartergamer1 Agreed.

  • @strikemode14 And Obi Wan even had this random all-knowing street contact just like in old cop dramas. Lucas should have went all the way with it, and make the badguys say things like "hide the stuff, the Jedi are here!"

  • you have a completly wrong persextive on the movie the chanceler (the dark lord of the sith) knows Anacan will turn to the dark side and overthrow the jedi.Dumb ass get your fucking facts right

  • @virginiaemc Fact: Its spelled Anakin. Maybe you should get your facts straight first.

  • 2:45 not everyone shows their proper age. Dude have u ever heard of Puberty ??? going from 20yrs old to 30 is not a big difference. Going from 10yrs old to 20, big difference.

u make a good point of most of the rest

  • wouldn't the love between both of them illegal I mean he's barely legal

  • @2:14

Is it just me, or does the Jedi temple look like shit? The art design and cgi is bland and fake. Practical effects and sets could have put together a realistic temple that would have been much better.

  • @mst3k4evur

    No, it's not just you.

  • @mst3k4evur I don't think it looks bad but it does look mediocre, it looks like every other sci fi 50's building but with generic blue and grey colors.

  • "A deformed, shapeless pile of cgi shit ."

    Made me laugh. xD

  • this is supposed to be about anakins fall to the darkside, yet palpatines "guidence" has already happened off screen before the movie gets started... wtf?

  • The biggest problem by far is I still don't understand Padme. Is she a complete idiot? Because Padme has some SERIOUS double standard issues. I mean She doesn't mind Anakin killing sand people(women AND children!) but when he murders human women and children, that's when she loses it. Hypocrisy anyone?

  • "try not to hurt your self there, you little moron.." - priceless!

  • Since the force is bacteria he's gana bring balance to the bacteria in people

  • GUARDIANS OF TRUTH AND JUSTCIE MY A&$!!!!

  • I don't get why Obi-Wan leaped through the window to grab that flying robot. He could have used the Force to grab it and pull it to HIM! Also, shouldn't those windows be something stronger than ordinary glass? I could understand if this were plain old Earth glass, but surely, in Futuristic Star Wars Land, they'd use that Transparisteel that's mentioned in the comics or the novels or wherever-the-fuck.

  • You'd think a car chase in Star Wars would be great but upon first viewing that chase disappointed me, and how are we supposed to worry about characters that're that settle zipping around through traffic?

  • seriously dude why didnt you use actual movie clips. great review though.

  • @IGNsucks It'd take more time and memory to make something using clips over pictures.

  • @Ryoku75 So.............if it makes it better then its time worth spending. If only someone said this to George when he wrote the scripts.

  • @IGNsucks He didn't use movie clips because he was afraid he might get his video taken down for copyright issues, that's why he use movie pictures instead.

  • @FREAKFANATIC That could be the case but several people have Episode 2 uploaded unedited so Matt would be safe. Im certain its because of time, pictures are easier to download and save when exporting the video.

  • @Ryoku75 They could be lucky, but eh, what do I know?!

  • @IGNsucks To get a few jpegs and put them into WMM takes a few minutes, but downloading a long movie that'd take up a good +100mb in memory, saving it using WMM, and hoping the file format dosen't crash WMM would take over an hour and in the end the difference wouldn't really improve the review.

  • I remember watching this for the first time as a six or seven year old in the theatres. At the part where Anakin bitches to Padme about how he should've been able to save his mom, blah blah blah, I remember thinking to myself, "somehow, the will be Obi Wan's fault." And sure enough, it was.

  • hey matt, i was watching the original trilogy recently and i remembered that you said that comment about calling them humans. in the original trilogy, han solo calls jabba the hutt a "wonderful human being" in ep4 and says hell a lot, which is a human concept. C3PO also calls luke a human being in ep5. so yes, calling each other human is accurate to the saga. other than that, your review is spot on. lol

  • What's the big deal about Padme? She's one senator belonging to an intergalactic organisation. Is she really worth assassinating? Especially, when the assassin attempts are so needlessly convoluted and could risk leading straight back to Palpatine and destroying his entire plan?

  • You seem to be putting too much power on the Jedi here, they seem to be more like the FBI or the CIA or something like that.

If they're not resolving a massive slave problem then, yeah, bad characterisation. But you can't really criticise them for not saving one person on a planet which they seem to have limited jurisidiction on anyway.

  • If Anakin was supposed to be a wonderful and good person that fell from grace, wouldn't it have made sense that if after his mother had died in his arms that he snuck his way to where the men were, burst in, BEGIN to force choke them, then, realizing that killing out of anger is against his beliefs, releases them, takes his mother's body and just left?

  • I want to know why the sand people took Shmi in the first place.

  • I agree with everything except 3:58. I thought Dex was great. Even though was scene was short (and oddly placed) he had more depth, charisma, and was far more like-able than any of the characters in the prequels. I want to know HIS backstory. To HELL with Anakin. We KNOW what happens to him. We saw the end of this saga in 1983.

  • So Anakin brutally murdered some people, regardless of age or gender? Who cares, I'm sure Ooba Dooba is laughing it off.

  • @Fredcheesburger I think she has the hots for men who commit massive murder.

  • 0:17-0:32, Lucas was trying to give the impression that as Jedi they experience this kind of danger regularly and are trained to stay calm and focus on what's going on around them.

  • Not ten years ago, not five years ago, not two years ago...now!

  • 8:15 Ahem... They've been called humans as far back as "Empire Strikes Back"

  • that dinner looks look like the cafe 80s from BTTF 2

  • I still prefer to imagine that the prequels were never made. Lucas settled on a story about the Sith taking over the Republic through political manoevering meant that the main characters are always reacting to what Palpitine is scheming rather than being the active agents themselves. This means for Palpitine to succeed the Jedi have to make awful mistakes of judgement, remain inactive and 'in the dark', etc. Even Lucas admitted he didn't have enough story for 3 full films.

  • at least this one had the epic clone battle at the end.

  • @chaosheaven234 Yeah, but it was boring as hell since we've never been told what exactly they're fighting over or what's at stake. If we don't know, then why the hell should we care?

  • they were sand people who tortured and raped his mom..im sure she was a little bit understanding

  • @smonk76

Yeah, but the children too? It's still a little fucked up and ANYONE would be at least a LITTLE bit disturbed at this news. Even if she was willing to talk him through it, she just handles it so nonchalantly that she may as well be a psychopath herself.

  • @CreepyMcCreep if i found out my girlfriend killed a bunch of terrorists and their familes for torturing her parents id be thinking good..you made the world a better place to live

  • @smonk76

    That seems a bit counter-productive.

  • Remember how the first two movies didn't have any references to "our world"?

That began to unravel in Return when Chewbacca made his Tarzan-roar!

Then we had Jar-Jar in Phantom talking like he had been breast-fed on Full House (it put me on lifelong medication) and a Bible reference.

To add insult to injury in Attack we are not only told about the unhealty
