In the end they are a hit NBC show, and if the audience wants to see that... she could be obtuse about it and refuse to write it, which I would respect, but... i would also disrespect Fey's bullheadedness in creating such an awesome tension between them, then squandering it by acting as though none of it were there. Actually, if Liz ends up with nobody I would be fine-- but if she ends up with WESLEY it will be like a stake in my heart.

I think if anything, at the end of the series they should simply have another moment like in Season4 Episode 7, where Liz says she has a date with an Activia microwave panini, and Jack replies "Good god, have dinner with me!". It doesn't have to be overt, but I like the suggestion that they're close on that level :)
