This does sound like Hip-Hop and there's nothing wrong with that. I think the melody has been used in a few songs but regardless, this is a great song. If I would've dissed Rock like others diss hip-hop without giving it a real chance.... I would have never discovered the most UNDERRATED artist in rock... JACK WHITE! open mind , close the ignorance
This beat, sounds kinda like hip-hoppy to me a bit. That was my first thought when I first heard it. My second thought was... this is fucking killer. Third though... this is better than any hip-hop evar.. what a shitty comparison.
I sounded mean in that comment. Sorry. I do like some hip-hop; But I just mean because it sounds like rock and hip-hop together, it rises above both genres alone.
Music is good if it's good. I like everything from classical to rap... it depends on spirit and emotion for me. Beethoven's 9th sends chills down my spine, while Limp Bizkit makes me want to break stuff. I like both.
Good points, but that comment would have been better without saying "You have one of the gayest youtube names I've EVER seen." The homophobia's just a bit of a turn-off, dude. You're obviously intelligent, but bigoted remarks make you look less so.
Beefheart's original musical EP release contained a couple Beefheart covers. I suspect when he made his most eclectic album Get Behind Me Satan, the top hat, goatee and moustache, and coat was a HEAVY channeling of what he thought made Beefheart just a genius of all times, and that White felt the exact same thing. I'm all for it. Dylan tried to dress and act like a great deal of his folk and blues heroes, so Jack deserves no slap for trying to get into Don Van Vliet's mindset.

the best part of this song to me is when everything comes rushing in right after he says "i've got a brand new game i wanna lay on you". (1:25)

He's not underrated. Serious people all over the world rank him near the top. He's unknown to people who like pop music and for good reason.

plasticjesus108; you suck:
1. You may be stupid enough to noy even know why
2. You have one of the gayest youtube names I've EVER seen
3. You have horrible musical tastes; put down whatever shit you're hearing.
4. Your "not" jokes are worst than Borats attempts at them lol
