Not a very good plan. Never put wood on the ground! Yes, the wood will rot from all the rain and wet ground. Best to put gravel on the ground and left the base off the ground!

Most definitely, you-tube is full of poor ideas, but a lot of good ones too, just a matter of shopping around ;-)
