Apparently one cannot copy their own "comment" and use it in the email they send someone! I just did that only to find my comment here had been removed! Oh, well, I love the Four Tops along with Motown in general. The wonderful music that was the backdrop to our youth. We were blessed to have come along at a time when music of this quality prevailed. Thanks for this post - again!
Love this!, There will never be another Levi Stubbs, In many Local Markets, this song was a Huge Hit, it's Excellent!, Another Largely Over looked Local Smash was Jr. Walkers "Do you see my Love for you Growing"
It seems Motown is getting quite popular again right now, a lot of my friends are really into the older music of the 60's and 70;s and artists like the Motown groups, Janis Joplin, The Rolling Stones etc etc nice to see that my generation (i'm 18) wont put up with the top 40 rubbish :D
i was fortunate enough to see the temps in concert but not the four tops unfortuately, the irreplaceable voice of levi stubbs will stay with me forever.....
@spiritladysoul I saw The Four Tops in concert in the early 70's at the Odeon Cinema in South East London , England. The lead singer had a broken leg and plaster all the way up his leg to the thigh, with a walking stick, but they were still fantastic to see and hear! Good days!
now this is what you call sweet soul music and when music was music i love it rest in peace levi.i was a kid and my brothers and sister dancing to this music and singing man those were the times. motown i use to laugh at them then i started dancing myself to these in the 70's
It was and still is a privilege listenting to all the great motown music which came out when I was a teenager in the 60's, I have so many happy memories, it is truly awesome music.
About 25 years ago I saw both the 4 Tops and Temptations in concert together at The Valley Forge Music Fair. What can I say! Unforgettable! Thanks for posting.
You're making me jealous man! I wish I was around in those days to hear this music fresh out of the recording studio, especially in Detroit! Well, to me it still sounds fresh today!! thanks for your comment mate.
Oh don't feel like that. If you were, it would mean that you would have to be over 40 yrs old now! LOL! I was only kid in grade school and we danced to these records at our little parties.
Hah Hah! OK, so I have youth on my side, I guess I can still make the best of your era's music today. I wish there was still music like that being made now though.
Now you're talkin'! Them and the temps, in the mid 60's, in concert would be heaven! I'm only 20 btw, glad to see someone else young with great taste in music!
@dalkey130388 I'm almost thirteen but I listened to a lot of motown when I was in my teens. It's good to read that the next generation can still dig old music.
@alexdagreat814 There's a concert tour during march next year 4 tops temptations tavaras crystals might not be all original members but will still be fantastic listening live.UK tour,i got my tickets.
this one is one of my fave he really pors out his heart in this.....Listen
